  1. This just in... CC loses a nail-biter to BC, 6-2.
  2. Is Providence that bad or are we that good?
  3. Only listening to game on the radio. Can those of you who are watching comment on how chippy the game seems to sound?
  4. God, as a CC and UND fan, I was so hoping Gwoz would've become the new CC coach. I would've loved to see him win the gold pan against DU.
  5. So much for my analytic, predictive capabilities. I called for a split this weekend, UND 3-2 on Friday with CC winning Saturday, 4-2.
  6. Stay out of the sin bin and don't be so hesitant with the puck in the D zone down below the dots. CC had a strong forecheck on us down low last night.
  7. Entertaining game. UND had some nice stretches of 5 on 5 territorial dominance, particularly in the first period and Zane made some big saves, especially in the third period.
  8. This is an instance I hope you're right.
  9. I'm calling for a split. UND wins Friday 3-2 and CC wins Saturday 4-2. (Yah, I know-I'm going out on a real limb predicting a split).
  10. For those of you who enjoy micro brews, there's a good place located only about a 5-10 minute drive from World Arena called Bristol Brewing Co.(some of you may have heard of their signiture beer, Laughing Lab). They're located in what was once an old elementary school that now houses a butcher shop, Bristol, and some restaurants. Very cool atmosphere. It's just off of I-25 and Cascade. CC fans like to hang there, very relaxed cool atmosphere. http://www.bristolbrewing.com
  11. And CC is very comfortable playing on the big ice sheet.
  12. As bad as CC was last season, they still pushed UND to the brink in last year's playoffs. I think there's a fine line between teams in this conference. UND and CC always play spirited, fast, exciting games in Colorado Springs. Stoykewych is a guy we have to watch out for as he's had success in his career against UND. cctigers.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=3308
  13. I know and I do too. I was happy to see Huntsville continue to play hard both nights, clawing back from 2-0 and 3-0 deficits. I'll be pulling for them in the WCHA.
  14. I thought he looked pretty solid last night in the 3rd. The Chargers out-shot CC 14-10 and at least a third of those were good scoring opportunities. That said, Marble is unproven as he got hurt very early on last season so we'll see how he does.
  15. Highly touted Chase Perry got yanked after giving up 3 goals in the second period to Huntsville. Looks like Tyler Marble will be the starting goalie on Friday against UND.
  16. Can't tell if CC is that bad or Huntsville is that much improved (probably a degree of both). I liked CC's compete level in periods 1 and 3 but I liked Huntsville's compete level in period 2, particularly considering how they came back from a 2-0 hole. Overall, still some lapses in CC's play but definitely saw a generally higher level of intensity last night than last season (early I know but...).
  17. You're right-and Hak is pretty much quoted as that in the Herald article saying, "this one's on me." http://www.grandforksherald.com/content/und-hockey-und-falls-hard-bemidji-state-opener
  18. I never thought game two of the season would be gut check time but that's what it sounds like. I learned the hard way a very long time ago not to get too caught up in the quotes of the players in the sports section the week leading up to a series. I'm sorry you guys had to witness a tough loss.
  19. Not all is lost...CC is up on mighty Alabama-Huntsville, 2-0 after one!
  20. Very true-kinda like a UND road series at Magness Arena only not quite the mutual venom or intensity.
  21. I don't know exactly but anecdotally speaking, having conversations with the guy at CC who handles season ticket matters, it had been shrinking over the past two seasons. I ended up having a lot of options as far as seat choices if that tells you anything. The good news is, since Haviland got the coaching gig, interest has picked up and season ticket purchase momentum has picked up over the summer.
  22. Got my CC season tickets in the mail yesterday along with a form letter from the new coach stating that his team intends to play an up-tempo, in-your-face style of hockey. I'm sure that sounds cliche but hopefully it's a return to former CC squads. Don't necessarily expect a repeat of Don Lucia's first season at CC back in '94-95 but hopefully we see improvement in intensity and execution.
