UND will not be intimidated, but if the big guys do not play or play well this could be a blowout. Benter, Wilmer, etc. need to play their best game of the year and the smaller guys need to hit their shots. If they do it could be a tossup. I predict a loss for UND, but by about 10 pts max.

If Wisconsin is only 53 then the RPI is very flawed, they are big and talented, though young. UW will be in the NCAA tourney and do some real damage. They will beat the Gophers twice and be in the top 3 of the Big 10. Bet on it.

Maybe in a backassward state like Wyoming. Here in Minnesota the volunteer network is stronger than ever. More volunteers than can be accomodated by the needed charitable events and organizations. I volunteer for 5 different organizations as a retiree and have to wait sometimes because so many want to do something for someone else. Quit generalizing based on your limited population and experiences. Minnesota is one of the most generous states in the union and one of the best places to live as a result. AND, I am being Minnesota nice to you. Based on Wyoming's history and your blessed son, Dick Cheney, I would hang my head in shame.

Interesting if true about them on the schedule. They actually payed both Lehigh and Montana State respectably this season, but lost. Of course they also beat Valpo (the worst team in the Sagarin ratings) by only 2 pts. Probably a good opener with regional interest. Awaiting the rest of the schedule.

My questions also, but how can you recruit when you also have no schedule for the next season,Faison? Announcing the 2011 schedule about now during face time with recruits seems to me to be a factor that would help generate interest. Why we still have only 7 games, 3 at home and one of those NAIA, just turns my stomach! No newsor gossip about the program, nothing! I know that a lot of the kids want to filter their offers, but any information at all would help them feel the program is moving forward. I keep hearing how it is not getting late, well c'mon, these seniors will mostly commit by early Feb. and if 7 games does not excite me, it probably won't excite a kid checking out where he will spend his freshman year of college either!

I like it and support the change to Roughriders. However, consider that in Florida, high schools are being required to drop their nicknames i.e. Seminoles by the insistence of universities that preceded their use of the name. In some cases this will cost the HS over $100,000 to change their logos, stationery, etc. In ND this could also be the case in reverse. If it costs UND that much to buy out Red River I think it is worth it, but many folks may not. Also, it may not be as big an issue, but it is something to be aware of.

USD Coyotes lost today to Wisconsin by 15. You cannot compare scores, but UND lost to Wisconsin by over 30 and it could have been worse. Obviously USD has come farther than the Sioux on the MBB scene the last two years.

How about Explorers, Plainsmen, Miners (Lignite), Prairie Hawks, or Mudcats

They are going nowhere with this program until they find an inside presence or shoot 55% from the 3 pt line for a whole game. Jones has got to get into the juco or inner city market and find some bigger inside bodies, period. We are not going to win with a team that has 10 guards and two big guys from small towns near the Canadian border.

Only watched about half the game, but saw Genoway get beat 3 times. Not a good sign.

We will see. KU has a lousy record and losses to some real turkeys this year. Losing to NDSU sure did not help his recruiting situation either. Minnesota cannot win no matter who is coaching so I do not blame Brewster. Lousy college atmosphere and the school does not encourage local loyalty in spite of what you may see. HS kids do not relate to the place.

I am not a Mussman fan, but I think he deserves one more year. Most great/good coaches have had their losing years. BUT, after this last year, he is only 3-8 in the GW conf and 15-17 overall. That is not acceptable long term for UND. I do think he should get one more year, not 2, to show what kind of coach he is. The 2011 season may turn out to be a tough or easy season depending on the TBD schedule. Obviously Fresno and Idaho will be tough games to win. So count two losses out of the gate. If he can finish at .500 or above against the GWC foes and win all the cupcakes on the schedule he should hang around. If the team looks as embarassing as this year, even in losing, he should be gone, gone, gone.

So did virtually everybody else! KU is the Big 12 version of Minnesota.

IRA, I do not disagree with you. I was trying to make the point that as UND becomes playoff eligible their quality of play likely will improve and in addition to the game being BIG because of the rivalry, it will become bigger because of any playoff implications should one or both of the two teams records be "on the bubble" as happened this year. As a result I think NDSU will be more reluctant, not less, to play UND as the stakes get higher. That was the case when both were in DII also, but now the stage becomes national and the egos more impacted. I'd like to see them play, but the win pressure goes up too.

First, I am a Sioux fan, but here is how I see this. I don't know about UND ever dominating again, but in fact as time goes on, "the game" would get more important than ever as both teams being in different conferences may find the race for the playoffs more of a factor. In all likelihood NDSU would have beaten UND this year and probably the last several and would have been a counter win. As we go forward, the risk of a loss by one team to the other with playoff implications increases dramatically. Imagine a 6-3 or 6-4 record going into or aside from a rivalry game like this which could be a season breaker or maker for either team. As time goes on NDSU has even less to gain and more to lose by playing as UND gains playoff eligibility and hopefully better team play. The best time for NDSU to play UND may have passed, but as I see it the game gets less likely as time goes on.

Seventy five per cent of the teams in a tournament are not seeded, they are all equal, but get to host if they bid the highest? Unbelievable, no believable, this is the NCAA we are talking about..... OR is it our way of life now that elective offices in government in this country are also awarded to the people who have the most money. Credibility, for sure, what a country!

Strange then if NDSU was the last team in that they would essentially get a "bye" by having to play cupcake ROMO. Obviously money talks with the NCAA. Maybe SUU could have bought their way in. They likely are a better opponent for NDSU than ROMO in spite of their record. USD beat Minnesota and SUU hammered USD so with that line of thinking SUU should have gotten at least an at large berth as undefeated conference champion.

Six home FB games? That is 3 more than currently listed. Gives a total schedule of 10 at least. Hope they aren't all stinkers like Valpo. I'd like to come up to GF for a game or two, but not to watch a 45-0 snoozer.
