There is a lack of top end finishing talent this year. They need to get greasy, hard nose kind of goals and too often it's simply not happening. There also appears to be a lack of effort. When they are trying, they can play fantastic. You see if every couple of periods but unfortunately you seldom see it for 60 minutes, sometimes not even 40. Is that on the coaches? What can they do to light a fire under this team? Sad that that actually needs to be though of at this point in the season. As it stands, this team is looking like they will be the one to break the consecutive appearances streak unless they can right the ship and actually start showing something.

Just remember though, the offense is incredibly complicated and it takes years for players to learn the playbook.

That's part of what bothers me so much about Rudolph. He's so intent on "his system" and running it exactly the way he wants that he disregards the personnel that he has and the strengths of the team. Can you imagine an actual screen play to Santiago or Oliviera?

I don't mind long, rangy possession receivers, but you need at least one guy that can stretch the field vertically, no matter what offensive system you play. If there is no true deep threat, defenses will be free to cheat up and make life difficult for the rest of your offense.

UND has looked faster this period if you ask me. They are beating Cloud to a lot of 50/50 pucks.

The refs are intent on getting Cloud a goal here. Very weak on Bast if you ask me.

Collegiate women's basketball has always been the sport with the least amount of parity. It's why you get the same dozen schools year after year in the final games of the tournament.

One of my big worries is at the offensive line. There has been little to no improvement over the past two years really. Our best linemen 3 years ago were a grad transfer and a physical freak (in a good way). I have to think that the o-line coach is very much on the hot seat this season since we all know there are no coaching staff changes taking place before it begins. If the offensive line is not appreciably better, then a new o-line coach is very much necessary.

Preseason rankings are a joke and have been shown to be pretty inaccurate to actual results, FSU showed that this year. I also thought they were highly overrated at #3 you start the season and part of that was to drum up early season interest (read as media hype and tv rating) for the Alabama game. At the end of the season who did Alabama beat? An ok Miss St team and a subpar LSU rivalry game with a cakewalk like Mercer on the late season schedule. Am i saying Alabama is bad? No. Just committees and rankings constantly overvalue them simply because of who they are.

Any thoughts on the fbs playoff field? Has Alabama just proven they can get away with scheduling nobody?

I want UND to surpass and play at the highest fcs level for awhile, but i also wouldn't mind seeing NDSU collapse and have some dumpster fire years.

WMU look skilled but they also look pretty cheap. Some cheap shots in there and the obvious dives. I agree with the color guy, I thought WMU played a cleaner, more straight up game than what they showed tonight.

At this point it hurts nothing to shake up the top line.

Crandall was not smart at the end of regulation. That reach in foul that gave UVU the tying free throws was just completely ill-advised.

Score might be better if UND shot the 3 halfway decent. Some quality looks that are bricking out. Having the 2 bigs on the floor for UVU is a major rebounding advantage.

To me this is the make/break season for the OL coach. If he can't get more productivity from his line, he needs to go. You can claim injuries for last season but for the past two seasons the offensive line has underperformed and have failed to really open any kind of lanes for our all-conference/american running backs. Yes, teams are stacking the box because the OC lacks any kind of imagination, but with that said they were doing the same thing three years ago and that line was opening massive holes. Get Santiago to the second level and all of a sudden you get your explosive offensive plays.

Your posts fall under the extraneous as they really service zero purpose outside of your amusement. You are quoting old posts and knowing that it will notify those posters, and you are also probably intending them all to try to respond, again for the purposes of starting an argument for your amusement. Try and be as polite and civil as you want, you're still trolling.
