Why do we continue to put Deng out there. I don’t know one thing that he’s good at.
-
I really hope Mara can figure it out. He certainly has the tools. Deng, meh.
-
The Curtis twins could sign today. We will see if that happens.
-
Don’t get that. Won’t be able to follow this very closely. In Vegas for a conference.
-
“That’s a really good football team over there”
-
He also had 3 TDs

I’m one of the bigger Danny proponents but I get the skepticism. My one thing that I will say is that I just think he could create his own culture. During the time he was here, it was still Bubba’s culture ultimately. Danny could try to make his own a bit but it still relies on the head coach. Having said that, I’m open to a national search. I’m also of the opinion that I’m okay with UND being a bit of a stepping stone. If, whoever UND hires is good enough to get poached up a level, things must have been going well. Can lead to a good trickle down effect too.

We riot if it’s Jake.

Not sure this game is going to happen. Sounds like some travel issues.

UND (KP 262) continues on the road at University of Texas at San Antonio (KP 226). The Roadrunner’s are 1-0 after beating D3 Trinity by 26. UTSA is led by #1 Primo Spears, who is now at his 4th school in 4 years (Duquesne > Georgetown > Florida State > UTSA). He put up 27pts, 5 assists, 5 TOs and 4 steals in their opener. After Spears, they have 6’8” #2 F Jaquan Scott, a transfer from Mississippi State. He had 16pts, 6 boards and a couple blocks in the opener. #4 Marcus Millender is their PG and had 19pts and 7 assists in the opener. He’s also a transfer from South Alabama. Their roster is littered with transfers. The Roadrunners are coached by Austin Claunch. His first year with the program. Was previously an assistant with Alabama and before that was the head coach of Nicholls where he had a 90-61 record. Looks to be a young, up and coming coach. UTSA will make a return trip to Grand Forks on 12/16. Anyways, KenPom has us losing this one 81-75. Game can be found on ESPN+.

The 360 pod was pretty gloom this week. Didn’t want to call for Bubba’s job but mentioned how teams in the D2 days would even fire coaches if it wasn’t working. They’re fed up but have to be careful with what they say.

People seem to think so. I’m hesitant. SDSU looks really good, NDSU should be good, USD has had a couple home victories (over lower end D1 teams), UST will always be tough with Tauer, KC returns a lot. Idk the conference may not have that dominant team but it’s tough. I am fairly confident that Trey, King and Amar will be fine. Even Panoam I think will be fine. I need Woodson, Reggie and Mara to step up though.

Fair.

Luckily, there’s not a whole lot of post bigs in the league that are in issue, as of right now. Cluff with SDSU will be tough.

Can’t let last nights result weigh too much on our outlook but I do fear this may take time. I still think we lack that PG that can create for others. Mier can handle the duties but feel like he would be a better slasher. Eaglestaff could maybe do it but he’s also the guy that needs to score 20+ for us. Also, we need to figure it out defensively. Seems like we have some of the attributes to be relatively good defensively, minus a post defense, but not sure we have the want to be good defensively yet.
-
Yeah there’s a lot of inexperience. Reggie, Mier and Woodson all getting their first real run of minutes at this level.
-
Disappointing first half but I’m not completely shocked. One thing I will say, I wouldn’t mind if Mayar rides the bench this year. Guy doesn’t provide much that I can tell.
-
Would you rather minimize portal departures and be same old same old or get absolutely gutted but a new guy comes in and builds it his way? Maybe it doesn’t work, but I’m taking the latter all day. Worth the risk, imo.

It’s finally here. Maybe basketball can keep us distracted from the !@#$ show going on with football and hockey. One can hope, at least. Colorado State is 77th according to KenPom and we are 250th. They are led by #10, Nique Clifford. He’s a 6’6” guard that averaged 12ppg last year and is also an excellent rebounder averaging 7.6rpg. They brought in some high upside transfers with #8, Jaylen Krocker-Johnson, a 6’8” forward from Arkansas Little Rock where he was the freshman of the year. To add to that, they also have #13 Bowen Born a guard from Northern Iowa. Niko Medved is Colorado State’s head coach. He is a Minnesota alum. Colorado State is -16.5 with a total of 144.

I just don’t know who we’d hire, not that that’s my job but I am interested in potential targets. I know Todd Hoffner is a popular name but he’s almost as old as Bubba. I’d prefer a young up and comer. I mean I think I’ve been clear that my top vote would be Danny but not sure that would be super popular. Otherwise, we need fresh blood.
-
I had a former player DM last season after the extension expressing their frustration saying how he couldn’t stay awake during meetings.
-
If Bubba retains his job after the year, which he will unless it’s his own decision, we at least have to gut the defensive staff. Let whoever comes in run the defense however the hell they want. Go get Mark Sipple (first guy and only guy I looked at) or something

Simon has been really good besides the first pass of the day.

https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/college/und-forward-george-natsvlishvili-isnt-eligible-yet-but-fighting-hawks-confident-in-the-signing Interest article about George Natsvlishvili and how he is ineligible this season but UND is appealing. What I found most interesting is that he got here because of a Georgian scout that was watching T a bit but was impressed with how BJ developed and thinks George can develop similarly.
