  1. You're not supposed to dig into the stats man. You're supposed to just take them at face value!
  2. A sweep would go a long way for this team. I would really like to see a Friday night win; these boys need to get the weekend started right. Have to start limiting some of the dumb penalties.
  3. Obviously whether he gets the scholly offer from Nebraska or not, it doesn't change the caliber of RB this kid is, but it makes me want the kid even more. Seeing his highlights and seeing who else is going after him speaks pretty highly of the kid. I know the staff was high on Gilman, but this kid could be better.
  4. I really don't see this as anything other than he wants a shot at the FBS level. I could be wrong, but I'd be surprised if there was really anything more to this.
  5. Is this a good time to bring up the game against Sioux Falls?
  6. I swear, if the kid becomes another Schobert ...
  7. according to who? If I remember right he did have a PWO offer to the Gophers when he originally committed to UND, right?
  8. And the other 3 or 4 RBs they have coming back from injury.
  9. As long as its the right kind of weight. Didn't he just lose weight coming into this year? I assume he took off some chunk by changing he diet. Hopefully he can add good muscle.
  10. Agreed, I'm more disappointed about losing a good player than I am concerned for our backfield. Smith showed tremendous upside when Otis was out, hopefully he realizes the opportunity and takes more advantage of it than Otis. I liked Ziebarth, but didn't see a large enough sample size. Mitchell is all potential at this point, but we haven't really seen anything other than his 1 TD where he showed off his speed; still great potential. Skokna is a great weapon as well, but isn't the same type of player as Otis, or even Smith. I wouldn't say I'm concerned, but I'm somewhat indifferent until I see more out of a few of these guys. I know nothing about Anthony Moe-Tucker except that he is a big kid, but I would really like to see us land the Emmet Johnson.
  11. Maybe he's looking more MAC or MW? Or maybe his academics are good enough to get him in for football, not that I would expect him to sustain it. That's not to say I don't hope for the best for the kid. Life is way bigger than football. But a kid that can't recognize a golden opportunity was given to him, and that he should hold on to that and maybe even show some appreciation, has way bigger issues in his life than where he plays football. If you ask me, this kid can't see the forest through he trees.
  12. Would have been nicer if we could have just got his brother here.
  13. Good luck to him, he will be buried on that depth chart. Then again, behind a better O Line maybe he would look even better.
  14. Agreed, I think it depends what Otis is lookin at. If he thinks he is going to do a Hergel and go FBS, I think Dixon stays, if he think he is going to transfer to another top FCS program, then I could see Dixon potentially following. Only time will tell, but I hope he is ready to go when he gets here.
  15. I would expected to see Vaughn hit the portal before Weah. The part the makes me nervous is how many more will we lose, and how many will be key contributors ... and once again, where do these guys think they are going to go?
  16. Transfers like Weah make even less sense to me than Nelson. At least Nelson was from the west coast and may want to play closer to home (still strange to me but whatever). Where does Otis think he is going to go? FBS? Otherwise why go elsewhere? I'm just curious what the thought process is here, though it doesn't sound like there is always a great deal of though with this one.
  17. Maybe Weah leaving will help us land the Emmet Johnson. He wouldn't have to wait so long for playing time. Sucks to lose Weah, but there seems to be some other promising RBs in the stable, and Mitchel should be back, right?
  18. What is happening here! This team has to know how close they were to a great season, coming off of a great performance last spring. Have a lot of these guys just lost faith in Bubba?
  19. I remember that one. Wasn’t it like Halloween and he threw it right a the beginning of the national anthem.
  20. I don’t think I could disagree with you more. this has nothing to do with community, safety, awareness, or anything else. Generally when the NCAA makes rules it comes down to money in some fashion. Making it so easy for kids to transfer does certainly doesn’t empower critical life decisions, it means they don’t really need to have any responsibility or accountability for the decisions they make. This has been especially true for basketball, where you see kids transferring multiple times. Rather than taking an opportunity and trying to make the best of it; learning, developing, growing ... they can throw that opportunity away because they think they deserve more .... a big problem with these kids anyway entitlement. It’s not doing them any favors in the long run, and certainly not preparing them for real life. It is wrecking college sports in the process. only thing I can agree with you on, is that it opens up an opportunity for someone else, and hopefully someone else that appreciates it a little more. Not saying there are circumstances where transferring makes sense and should happen, but it has become the all to common route for entitled children who haven’t gotten exactly what they want.
  21. Unless Nelson goes FBS, I don’t understand the move.
  22. How does holm not have any eligibility left. He should have at least another 5-8 years.
  23. I don't want a team of transfers, but I would like the coaches to target specific areas of need with the right players. Transfers are not the way to build a team, but there are definitely some good ones out there.
  24. Agreed, we were not that far off from being a highly seeded team this season, which sounds far fetched looking at the record, but not if you break down the games. Coaches and players win those games and maintain interest, we have chances to get additional revenue. NDSU has had how many more home games over the past decade because of the playoffs. More games, more interest, more money.
