  1. I may go buy one before Thursday. Does anyone know if Roku has a espn3 app? Would be nice to use it for the Bowling Green game as well.
  2. Could be true, but that is what I thought last season when MT passed all over them. They do tend to figure it out and coach up the deficiencies... I guess we'll see.
  3. Agreed on the one dimensional teams in Fargo. I wasn't a fan of CSUs overall offense. Triple option in cool when it works, and it showed flashes. Overall, they had a nice showing defensively (minus that OT play). I don't know enough about CSU to say whether or not they will be a playoff team or not. They just took the #1 team in the country, and 5 time defending champ, to OT, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and not count them out. FU and EWU - I don't think this will be that close. EU will have its share of offense, but the Bison D is too good; and the EWU is nothing special. I'll take the Bison by, at least, 14. Maybe I'll be way off base, but the Bison D already look pretty good (better than at the start of last season) and I only see Stick and the (passing) offense improving ... they have good depth in the running game. Also SOO glad the season is hear ... just anxious for Thursday.
  4. Anyone else hate how likeable Kliemann is? Hard to dislike a guy that classy? I know he stepped into a pretty sweet spot (Not much different than Bubs taking over for Hak, or Hak taking over for Blaise), but credit due to the guy he has done very well.
  5. Haha, I know he meant NFL, I was just joking around. Agreed, CFL is a legit career, more than I ever had .... and I don't like to brag but I did play of year of 9th grade "C" team football .
  6. I do think a lot of our guys will be playing with a chip on their shoulders after the way last season ended. Hopefully that doesn't turn into trying to force plays though. It is certainly a game we SHOULD win, especially given the direction this program is going in. Can't wait!
  7. Agreed, very bold statement. Though I believe he did say Pro football, not NFL, so maybe he has a big arena league career ahead of him . Stick is a great player and athlete, but he does need to improve his passing game overall.
  8. I know what you mean, maybe I'm just happy football is back on. Can't even express how pumped this is getting me for Thursday though.
  9. Maybe I should take that back, because that was hideous coverage on that last TD pass.
  10. Not sure I would say its not a good game. Both teams have a little rust, but its a top ten matchup going into the 4th quarter tied. I'd call is a good, solid defensive game overall. I know Stick is only a RSo. but he is not Wentz ... yet.
  11. Agreed, Deluca is a beast.

Can Cerriteno come back and try? He was so amazing for us last season.

Try throwing Iwarri in there, or pull Secrest's redshirt. Heck Grady did it in HS, give him a chance no? Not so much?

Sorry Teeder, I just realized how poorly I had phrased my comment. I didn't mean to insinuate your statement was preposterous. I absolutely agree that Cloyd will be a force over the next 4 years. I meant to ask, in general, is the idea that Cloyd could be the next best TE since Kleinsasser a preposterous statement? Again, I know it is too early to say for sure, but in general .. based on potential.

    2016 Season

Good to know, I figured he we still get plenty of playing time. Can't express how awesome it is to see this team start developing depth (hopefully we'll see this with the dbacks soon). Bennett has been pretty highly touted, so to have a player with that kind of skill, that deep on the chart is pretty exciting. Hope these guys all step up and play big ... especially the first 2 weeks. Would be awesome to come home and play USD with a 2-0 record. Can't wait for next week!

No Mason Bennett on the two deep ... is this purely because of depth?

    2016 Season

Maybe this is a preposterous statement, given that Cloyd has not even played in a college football game ... but you've at least seen in practice. Is it fair to say, he could be UND's best tight end since Kleinsasser? Or at least have the most potential since Kleinsasser? Could be way off base, but just curious.

Hopefully he can come back from the Hammy ok. I heard he was looking pretty good for someone who wasn't familiar with the system yet. Also heard similar things about Reed, not as impressive as had been hoped for. Maybe he'll surprise.

Understand you're not trying to be combative, but let me clarify my comment. I certainly didn't mean to slight Heidelbaugh, Bolinski, or Boltman. My intent was that there it is excellent to add depth and competition to the most important position on the field. Technically we have an unknown commodity in Heidelbaugh, Bolinksi, Boltman and Prater; BUT if we want to read between the lines, Prater was above Simis on the depth chart for a pretty strong MT program, and would have played except for injury. Now that doesn't actually mean anything, other than the kid has shown potential and should provide additional competition. SO, not saying he is the next guy after Studs, or that he'll ever start, or that he'll ever even see the field. Just that he adds depth in an important place. As for the leadership piece, he definitely brings something that nobody else can. Will he have to earn his respect? Of course. But between his military and life experience, that provides a lot of experience unique to someone that is playing college football. I think most of us know how much a person typically matures between (18-22 y/o) and (25-27 y/o). My point being he brings a maturity to the team, that could be good for other players to see.

Awesome to see a guy with some experience in the locker room. As mentioned, it sounds like he will be a great leader. Not just because he is a former Ranger, but because he is a husband and father as well. Those experiences can provide leadership qualities that will be great for younger players to see. Sounds like this guy has had to make a lot of sacrifices to end up where he has, and that speaks volumes about his personality. On the football side, it adds depth to the most important position, add competition, and could provide an important bridge between Studsrud graduating, and hopefully Boltman taking over. Nice to not have to rush the young guys. MT fans seemed to have a lot of great things to say about this guy. Not necessarily on overall talent, but in terms of personality, which is great to have.

To be where NDSU is? Yes, of course, but even you must realize that NDSU has not been a normal program in recent year. Thus all the national attention and media they receive. In terms of being competitive on an annual basis, no, I'd say they are on a pretty strong track to being competitive on a regular basis. Are we completely there yet? No. Is there still some proving ourselves to do? Sure. But to say they have "a long way to go" is just an asinine trolling comment. Even in my conversations with a bunch of Bison fans, they recognize that Bubba has come in and turn the program in the right direction. Just need to give him a little more time to complete the turn around. That doesn't mean they will win 5 national champions in a row, but that isn't a realistic goal for any program.
  22. Thanks for the feedback, I may invest in the Roku, unless anyone knows if the PS4 or XBox have the same capabilities in terms of watching NCHC.tv. I intend on getting a new system anyway so I don't want to double up unless I need to.
  23. This is the kind of stuff I like to hear. Not so much having a #1 player, but more of a 1A and 1B. We need that kind of depth, without a talent drop off.
  24. Anyone here ever use Roku for live streaming of any other type of event? Just curious as to how well it works and if it is worth the investment over plugging my laptop into the TV. Which works for the most part, but sometimes can be poor quality. Also, does anyone know what the capabilities are for PS4 or XBox? I believe XBox has a ESPN3 app, but I'm not sure. This would really only be useful for 1 or 2 football games and some of the NCAA Hockey Tourney. Just curious if these machines are capable of more (NCHC.tv or BigSkyTV) Thanks!
  25. Hearing about true freshman that are built like 5th year senior, with the talent and potential of these kids is extremely exciting. Can't wait to see what they can do.
