  1. We need to turn some things around this week to get our second straight FBS win. First and foremost is to establish our run game to sustain drives, wear down the defense and control the clock. Best approach from limiting their passing offense is to keep them off of the field. I think our front 7 will keep their run game in check, but they are certainly a threat through the air. This is a very different team from last season, with a new coach and a ton of turnover, especially on offense. If anyone watched their bowl game last year, they got absolutely torched on the ground by Georgia Southern. If Santiago can get going, and the rest of the stable can wear down the D, UND can definitely get in the win column. Keaton does not have to win this game for us, or pass for 300 yards, but he does need to be more effective, and make costly mistakes. Last I heard there was about a 60% chance of rain and windy in the forecast, which could definitely play into our favor a bit; that being said Weather isn't going to actually win or lose the game for you. I'm taking my squad to bounce back and Santiago to get going. 31-24 Fighting Sioux! Go get em boys! Not really going out on a limb here, but I'm banking on Reyes having a big game. If Knapke is as inaccurate as last week, our boys need to step up and force some turnovers.

  3. It is also on America Sports Network, which is probably what you are seeing in your Cable lineup.
  4. fingers crossed for the kid. He deserves one full season here, and UND could definitely use him.
  5. After seeing the replay, I'm going to go ahead and back peddle on my comments on Clive. That all happened so fast, and watching the replay on UND Sports Extra was much more clear. I think Clive probably figured he was already down when he started stretching out a bit. Just an unfortunate spot for the kid to be in. Nice tackle by the D, but Clive really just got pulled on top of the defender and put in a bad spot. Definitely a little different than I remember seeing it the first time around. Also seeing he lower leg bend and wiggle like that was disgusting. Can't imagine the pain. Anyone know if he will have a chance for a medical reshirt? Or if they will even apply for one?
  6. I ripped a phone book in half .... jk, who has phone books anymore
  7. Anyone know where the updated 2 deep is listed?
  8. Yeah, for how hyped up Dulin was as a recruit and while he was redshirting, I was hoping to hear more about him getting into the mix. I know he had some issues with drops, but does anyone else know whats going on with him? Is there a work ethic thing, in terms of getting better? Or is he just not there yet? Obviously the kid is young, and there is a learning curve at this level so I don't want to come across as though I'm throwing in the towel on this kid; I'm not. Just curious if anyone knows how he is progressing.
  9. Does anyone know when the Men's basketball schedule usually comes out? Just curious to see who we get this year.
  10. This works for me. I agree the team needs to think with that mentality, but as fans, there was no doubt watching the SBU game that our lack of offense was at least partially due to them being good on the defensive side of the ball. Regardless, I think we turn it around this week and play a more fluid game. Can't have so many 3 and outs, have to find a way to sustain drives, run the ball, and wear them down. For those who are concerned about their offense (which they DID NOT show last weekend), the best way to eliminate that threat is to keep them off the field. Run the ball, Wear them down, Control the clock. Can't wait for Saturday!
  11. Agreed, O-Line is key ... but I have to believe they will play better against Bowling Green. SB had a tremendous defense, and we had to shake off some rust. I think these guys will continue to gel and get better throughout the season, but hopefully we see a nice improvement this week. Have to sustain drives and wear down their defense. If we establish our running game in the first have, they will be good and tired by the second half. Can't wait for the game. Go Sioux!
  12. Agreed! Run Run Run Should hopefully limit their passing game too! Regardless, we just need to play North Dakota football and get back to what we were doing last year.
  13. I'm starting to get really pumped for the season to start. Can't believe hockey is almost back!
  14. They had a pretty good guy on defense a few years ago too. He was an UFA and I though he was doing ok at the NHL, but I really don't know. Can't remember his name right now though.
  15. Per the Bowling Green Forum, there is a 90% chance of thunderstorms and gusty winds on Saturday for the game.
  16. I'm all for playing tough, but you have to be smart too. You want to make the extra effort fine, but you have to secure the ball. It was tough to see, since the quality wasn't great, but it really looked like he stretch the ball out and the defender just took it out of his hands. Maybe it was just an unfortunate situation with Clive basically landing on top of someone (preventing him from being down by contact). Its certainly easy to critique the play when you are watching from the couch with a beer. I guess in the end it doesn't matter, sucks for the team to have lose the ball and lost the game. Sucks for Clive. Sucks for the fans. On to Bowling Green.
  17. agree wither everything you wrote. I would have like to have thought Studs would have moved seamlessy into this season too. I'm sure we will see improvement in the next two games.
  18. If you saw, he was already being brought down. He wasn't going to carry the defenders for another 4 or 5 yards to get into the endzone. Aside from putting himself into a vulnerable situation where he gets seriously injured, he fully extended the ball out in front of him. He basically handed the football to the defender. Gotta secure the ball. I'm not opposed to fighting for extra yards, but you have to take care of the football.
  19. ok, lets see MSUM play the SB defense then. I get your point, but even when the ball did get to the receivers there were multiple drops. Can't place all the blame on 1 player. Everyone, including Studs, knows he played a bad game. 1 bad game, compared to like 7 good ones last year. He'll bounce back. Yes, coaches could have done something different to protect the punter, but there are multiple areas we could have won that game. I've already stated I feel bad for Clive, but he put himself in a very vulnerable situation stretching out the way he did, when he was already being taken down. Instead of tucking and securing the ball, he tried to extend for a few extra inches. He already had the first down and should not have extended the ball like that. Do that and we likely, score, win, and keep our top WR.
  20. I agree, but I'm not ready to burn him at the stake yet either. As hard as many of us are being on him, I guarantee you he is being even harder on himself. He knows he wasn't good last night. He know he could have done more to win that game. He will get it corrected. At the same time, he didn't let the punt get blocked either; and as bad as I feel for Clive, he tried to do too much instead of securing the ball. Secure the ball and go down and you probably win, and don't get injured.
  21. Stony could have the top defense in the country. If not they are right up there. I don't really care if they are #1 or not (statistically speaking), if you are even close to the top, you are good. NDSU does have a great defense and they always seem to get better as the season goes on. But Yes, they do have a much more complete team. If there D has an off game, their O picks up the slack and vice versa. I've heard through other threads that Cole is ok, nothing more reliable than that though. Feel bad for Clive, but now it is next man up. I do anticipate Stony being a pretty decent team though, remember their offense wasn't good, but they were playing a top D as well. I actually though Carbone played better than I initially expected, at least early on. Their D could definitely win them a few games. I think they have a pretty good RB, but that didn't really show because of our front 7. UND will be fine. Time to get to business for BGSU.
