The WAC talk was pretty entertaining for a while, but it is truly getting boring. Why can it not be believe that UND would want to join the MVFC or Summit? Well publicized that UND needs to cut their spending, and switching conferences is 1 way to impact that spending, while still remaining in a good conference.
-
Don't need to read Bisonville to understand that the school is looking to cut some spending. I think the answer lies somewhere in the middle of this argument. If UND remains in the Big Sky, will they not be able to afford it and fold? No, but travel will continue to be a significant impact on the budget, and if it continues the way it has over the past year or so, they may find themselves having the conversation about cutting sports again. If UND moves to the MVFC, they will likely open up some funds that can be allocated elsewhere. I still think they are trying to support too many teams, but maybe some of these sports would not be in such danger of being cut. I get why some people like the Big Sky, especially with the Montana schools, but the more I think about the MVFC, the more I like the idea. Make the switch, play the Dakota schools, save some money, make it easier for fans to travel with the team, make it easier for opposing fans to make the trip to GF. There is a lot to like about this conference as well. Either way, UND will be a pretty solid position conference wise. Not like we are looking to move into the Pioneer League.

I hear ya, not trying to call you out. I'm sure for some kids its a tough decision, they have friends on the team, they may even enjoy their overall experience, but they may want to be closer to home. No idea if that was the case. Certainly sucks to lose good players, and he was definitely a good player.
-
Can't totally blame the guy. Had the opportunity to play closer to home, at a bigger school, when there was some instability here. I agree, I would have certainly liked to have him here, but you have to remember that these kids can transfer for any of number reasons. Obviously, he has been successful, so congrats to him. For what its worth, had he not transferred, last year would have been his final season.
-
Hopefully he is good to go for the playoffs.

If I were a betting man (which I'm not much of), I'd say Studs goes this week. Though hopefully doesn't run too much. Sounded like he wanted to get back into the game against Weber, but the coaches held him out. He may not be 100%, but he also doesn't generally make the huge throws down the field, so he might now need his are as much. I'm sure the coach and trainers will take the best approach. Don't want him to aggravate the injury, but he will have a week off after this game as well.

I'm not a big basketball fan overall, but I do enjoy watching UND. Hooker needs to absolutely take over this year. I expect a huge jump from Crandall; wonder why no start. Shanks will need to prove himself worthy of starting, he was not great last season, I though Avants outplayed him consistently. Who will step up from the perimeter, with McBuckets 2.0 gone. I also looks for big things from Drick. Definitely looking forward to the season starting, but I'll probably have to listen on the radio, as I'll be at work. Really wish the Big Sky would provide an app on Roku, though I may not have to worry about that as much if we move to the Summit/MVFC.
-
I'd take him, more depth is never a bad thing.
-
really? I would have though if he was going to transfer, it would be to NDSU as his uncle played there, and the Bison lose Frazier and Morlock this year. He'd be a good addition though.

This may not be their best QB, but that is because he was sitting behind Cookus, who is a pretty exceptions QB. Also have some very good WR, who can make even an average QB look good; especially now that they have had some time gel a bit. I do think we will be the best D line they have faced, so my hope is we can make their QB force some throws and make decisions quicker than he has had to all season. This could cause some more interceptions, and our D has certainly taken advantage in that department. What I would like to see is Schmidt dial up pressure early, similar to how he did in the second half of the Weber game. Get their QB off his game early, and never let them get a rhythm.
-
Its all in good fun man. Relax a bit.
-
Agreed. Faison was asked about it today on the radio. Pretty much just said he though the shirt was disgusting, and that was about it.
-
Appreciate it, I tried to have some of the same reason over on BV, but that went nowhere. There are a few people that are willing to have a decent conversation, but most like to just scream and shout.
-
Well, there are those people, but it has nothing to do with this. Guy hates UND, is trying to be clever, and ends up (IMO) looks stupid and tactless. (Yes, UND fans, we have people who make similar choices; ex. Blackface, SiouxperDrunk shirts, F%$k the NCAA shirts, etc.) The guy is a moron. I'm sure UND didn't like that, as they have tried to distance themselves with the name and logo, and I'm sure NDSU didn't like it, as they don't want their school associated with someone making (what could be perceived as) derogatory remarks.
-
Whatever, point is, wearing something like that says more about the individual than the school as a whole. I'm not going to lump all NDSU fans into that group. Though there are plenty over on BV that would be happy to place t-shirt orders.
-
Not really. Other than the fact that the public having access to some of this information can make Faison's job more difficult. I didn't this is was all that great of an interview segment.
-
Good grief, you are all starting to sound like an old couple. "How can I turn this into an argument, and if it doesn't work, I'll argue it anyway". Was the shirt stupid, Yes. Have other fans acknowledged the stupidity of the shirt, Yes. Is it comparable to wearing a Sioux shirt, No. Is it comparable to wearing the "F&@! the NCAA" shirts that were floating around the Ralph several years ago, Yes, they could be put in that same categories. Does NDSU have some idiot student. Of course. Does UND have some idiot students. Of Course ...... See where I'm going with this? All teams have players who get into trouble (not acceptable, but a fact). All Schools have students who are morons (not acceptable, but a fact). All media outlets, are going to report stories like the t-shirt, the arrest, etc, and ask the administration questions. (It is what the media does). All administrative members are going to responds with a politically correct tone, not condoning insensitive behavior (It is was administrative people to in today's world). We're all pretty similar in many regards, so if we break it down, it becomes us bickering over who's institution has the lesser of the morons. For what its worth, I'm sure NDSU officials weren't exactly thrilled to see that picture plastered all over in association with their school name. Even more so, I'm sure the kids parent weren't thrilled either. I'd be having a talk with my son about what is funny and what is just stupid. Bottom line, the shirt speak volumes more about the character of the kid, than the character of the University.

Looks like Stanley is listed as Out for this week. Taj and Keaton are both questionable. I don't see anything listed on Bell or Stockwell, so I'll assume they play unless I see otherwise.
-
Hard to believe we are already to the last game of the regular season. I seriously feel like I was just sitting at my desk, waiting to get home so I could watch the Stony Brook game. It has been a fun season, and great to know that we aren't done yet. Take care of business, and beat NAU. Losing Cookus definitely hurt them, but they aren't going to lie down. Gotta "Leave No Doubt"!!! This will likely be a close game, but if UND can hit on all cyclinders maybe we could turn this into a statement type win, with some fashion points. At least, this is what I'll be hoping for.
-
I'd just like to point out that UND is also on fire.
-
If that is the case, then I can't wait to do a little tailgating.
-
UND vs. San Diego (I would assume we would host this game) and we would see and Arnell vs Arnell match up. All about the story lines.
-
Maybe. Maybe not. Could be, because I believe he is from Washington, but I'd like to think if he was already willing to come all the way to ND for college, that may not affect his thinking. If he like the school, campus, facilities, coaches, players, etc. before, then he should still like those same attributes now. Not like UND would be moving to the pioneer leage, we all know the MVFC is a very respectable conference to play in. I guess it all depends on the kid.
-
That would be cool if he was going to come in for spring ball though. not sure how that works, but that kind of stuff is huge for getting these kids ready to play and compete at the next level. show commitment too.
