Absolutely! One bad error does not define Riegers career at UND. Overall, I thought the kid showed a ton of potential and grit.
-
Yeah, no doubt, what the hell is St Peter doing putting his job before his alma mater? Seriously man, you think it is all on him? And even if it is, he got a ticket that will sell. Lots of Sioux fans in the cities, but compare that to bison fans, especially for football, it’s not even close. Guy has a job to do, and he isn’t going to play favorites if that impacts his bottom line. and of course NDSU football has overtaken UND, along with every other fcs program in the last decade. Have you been watching?
-
Didn’t know that. I know Rick is a UND guy though.
-
You sure he isn't a little of both? I know his brother is a Sioux fan.
-
My guess is he will be swinging a towel on the sideline, but still be a great character/locker room guy.
-
Yeah, didn't mean it as an accusation so much as a question. Grady had issues...twice. Even with Haas leaving this year (though I don't know the reasons). I think there have been a few others as well. Not sure if the coaches aren't spotting something they should be, or if this is just normal attrition in college.
-
Exactly! Even in college I loved how the beer was cheap at the Ralph. Maybe not, "Down UNDER - 1.50 pitcher night" cheap, but still ....
-
Yep, Missouri I believe. There was quite a bit of hype around this kid. Seems like some of these high talent guys have other issues are priorities. Are this just unfortunate misses or does our coaching staff seem to overlook some potential red flags that some other schools might be seeing.

I meant an individual on our own staff

I wonder about an individual on the staff.

Lmao, 1st time in 16 years we aren’t in the tourney and two years removed from a championship. I’ll give Berry his due time. That being said, IF it doesn’t work out in the next few years, then try getting Sandy, but I have to think if you bring in Sandy as head coach, you likely lose Jackson. Guy has certainly been waiting for his chance and his contributions to the program can’t be overlooked.

What could have been...

but are there any puck bunnies at OSU? seems like it would just be leftover from football and basketball.
-
Yeah, I don't understand the whole pulling for conference opponents in the tourney. I would never have cheered for the Gophers or Wisconsin in the WCHA days. Maybe I would for a team who hasn't been there lately like W. Michigan, kind of like I would have for an Anchorage or Tech way back in the day.

Wasn't Irmen still playing in Fargo when he turned down Grant? Were that all that close prior to Irmen going up to GF?
-
Hindsight is 20/20, but I would have gladly had them both. Grant certainly turned out to be nice player, and it never hurts to have alumni that like to coach.

I was actually going to write a whole spoof article last year for April Fools about Grady coming back .... to play goalie for the hockey team. Of course, last year it actually looked like the guy was going to come back and play football. I think Grady's name will pop up on this forum on an annual basis.
-
Just found out the UND got some BIG news regarding the Grady train pulling into GF!
-
I wonder if Schloss is waiting until Sunday to break the new about UND reinstating Women's hockey.

Could we get someone to apply for the job with a variation of "Chuck the Pigskin"? Shoot the Rubber?

4/3. Michigan/Duluth: They both suck. I dislike Michigan less, but don't want to see them get more championships. That being said, I still think we will surpass them with championships at some point here. 1/2. Notre Dame/Ohio State: Not a fan of either. Don't really care who wins. I guess I'd prefer Ohio St. The gold helmets are disgusting; their players should all get penalties for wearing them, and the program should be subject to NCAA sanctions for being hostile and abusive. What a boring Frozen Four. Is it October yet?

Anyone else see the tying goal for the Caps.... Pionk really sucks when he is on his knees. ....jerkface
-
I mean it sucks for the players and fans, but I don't see how anyone can legitimately be upset at Motzko, or not understand the move. Motko is a coach, not a fan, this is his job. He is making a career move for himself. Now I don't care for Gopher Hockey, but the money and resources will be better for him at the U. As a player, I'm sure there is some disappointment, and any frustration they have towards the move, they can leave out on the ice when the teams play, but if we was a good coach to these guys then I'm sure they will understand why he is leaving. I know if someone offered me a 30-40% raise (arbitrary number, I've no clue of the real number) I would be gone, even if I really liked my current position. Money talks, and so does opportunity.
