Haven’t been on BV, but I’m guessing they are laughing hysterically about the posters acting like high school freshman girls on this board. Not saying it was a smart thing for the herald to do ... part of that know your audience, but it has been blown so far out of proportion on here, it is ridiculous.

I think he was actually pretty spot on, in that UND fans really need a game. I think everyone is just way too anxious, I know I am. That being said, when you write, and have lived in the community, you should know what kind of reaction you will get, even if it is petty.

Hard to blame them for thinking this way. You have a bad program, that is trying to find some hope (we've been there). You have a new coach, you are hoping will finally bring some improvements to your team (we've been there). No we are not NDSU, and they are hedging their bets as fans, that us not being NDSU gives them a chance .... it doesn't, but again as fans, they are trying to find some hope for improvement. I don't see that as them slighting UND, and much as a desperate hope that they might get a W this season. To be fair, without digging into why our season went the way that it did last year, they may only see our record which doesn't make us look good. It also doesn't show the full picture. All that being said, we should and will smoke them. Would be great to see this game put away really early, so we can watch what some of these young guys and depth players can do.

Leadership is not always about skill. I have had plenty of great bosses that couldn't do the job of their subordinates. I've also had terrible bosses that could do superior work to what their employees could do. If Zim is the backup or even the third string, you will find out very quickly how much he deserves to be Captain, because his position on the depth chart won't impact the leadership.

I like that move. Sounds like he has some talent, might as well try to keep him an extra year for solid competition with Boltmann in two years.

Might as well throw Brady Oliveira in there too, he had a TD pass to Fiedler 2 years ago.

I think today was a soft date to have a starting QB set, so hopefully, but I suppose it could still be another day or two. I would think that by now the coaches would know who they want to start, and the remaining battle would be for the backup spot.

Nothing against Zimmerman, but I'd really like to see Ketteringham get the start. Excited to see what he can bring to the offense.

August 14th Depth chart changes: OL Jeremy Jenkins has been moved to guard. Freshman Matt Waletzko has been working with the #2 offense at RT. Can someone put this in perspective for me. Obviously a few years away from this kid's NHL draft but what round would he be projected in. Actually, what rounds are all of the players in that class projected at. Sounds like a loaded class.

Wow, I thought I was optimistic about the season. The only disagreement I have is that we will be the favorite at Sam Houston. An away game against a top 5 team, definitely not the favorite, but certainly winnable. I've said it before, NDSU basically handed over the blueprint on how to beat Same Houston. We have the talent to do so, as long as we utilize it. Should be a fun game for sure.

Long battle to go, but sounds like Ketteringham is playing pretty well out there today.

Great to hear that a guy has put in that type of work and built that type of rapport with his teammates. As long as whomever is playing the best, and shows the most potential is starting, I don't care. I tend to lean Ketteringham, but that isn't based on much except for what I have read. I will say this, if it is Ketteringham, I think Zimmerman will show how a true captain should be. Even if he isn't starting, he can be a huge voice and leadership for the team. I've seen that before; Captain doesn't mean you are the best player, but that you can demonstrate some of the best leadership. Getting pretty pumped to see how this all plays out. 8/30 can't come soon enough!
