I have been very unimpressed with officiating in general in the Big Sky for all sports thus far. Travel?... -
UND vs NAU - Go support the team at the Betty

I fear that this team has no shot to make a run in the BSC Tourney without him. Even with him, his constant inability to stay out of foul trouble is concerning at minimum. -
Unbelievable. You cannot make it up. They discussed and were scared of UNC because of distance and travel, and then basically showed no interest in adding UND. Meanwhile, the theme of the article is the threat of Summit Baseball losing their autobid because of lack of league members. And heaven forbid Kolpack call him on it for talking out of both sides of his mouth. Simply stupefying.
-
Bison Dan, it is as obvious as the day is long that you are one of the biggest fanatics of UND here on Siouxsports.com. We all appreciate your continued interest and loyalty towards UND Athletics. Bless your heart.

How much does Brian Idalski make again?.....
-
Respectfully, I can see how it would seem that way but that is incorrect.

I commented on this in the Conference Realignment thread also, but in the short term, I think this is a good thing. UND has a conference home for baseball finally. In the long term, The Summit would have been the better option IMO because of travel expenses, rivalries and budgets etc. It's too bad The Summit has a totally inept commissioner running their conference, otherwise an invite to UNC and UND for baseball would have happened 2 years ago. Douple is a total fail.
-
Ok, I gotta ask.... What the hell is Douple and The Summit League thinking? Regardless of what happened before, it makes ZERO sense for that league to NOT give UND an invite for baseball considering the situation they are in. It makes so much sense for all parties involved. You stabilize an already weak (in numbers) baseball conference by adding a geographically pleasing conference mate in UND. Travel, rivalries, everything makes so much sense for all parties. My sources say an invite has never been extended to UND for baseball only in the Summit. How is that possible? They have 6 teams in their baseball conference! Honestly how does a guy like Douple keep his job? They have now let UND and UNC both go elsewhere for baseball conferences.

Hang on for just a sec. Bison Dan is gonna go do some manhood measuring. He'll be right back with a rebuttal.
-
Summit is better right now overall. But a joke, really? Summit is pretty top heavy too. Good thing you guys hit that off-balance prayer of a 3 against us on your home floor.
-
I think the best place to start as far as where to put the money for the jerseys would be the "Football Priority Needs" fund. It would go directly to Football then without all the red tape I believe.

Sweep of Montana State by the men and the bobcats 1st home loss this season.

Big road win. Look what happens when you hit your free throws. Great job guys. Now go beat the Griz.

Free throws.

Agreed. Have heard Combs, Opara and Akeem Roller all are academic casualties. Look for these guys to end up going the Juco route. I'd say there is a 5% chance of Opara getting everything in order to attend UND by this fall. I hope I'm wrong. Would love to see him there.
-
It's academics for Opara. Positive. He never even 'officially' visited UND. Really odd.
-
Rumors out there about Rashadeem Gray flirting with UNI lately. Sounds like UND might be dropping him if they haven't already. I'm guessing Patrick Sharp had something to do with this. The wonderful world of recruiting.
-
Heard the same thing. The comment I heard was that he's showing why he originally signed in the B1G on signing day. Of course, these are just workouts and it needs to translate onto the football field obviously before we start anointing anyone. Exciting nonetheless. So if he doesn't redshirt, you have: Hardin, McGill, Jackson, Golladay, Townsend and now Robertson? Gonna be a battle to even step on the field there. Romon Bridges, Pat Brown, Anthony Fletcher and Casey Young will have to wait their turn I guess. And this fall we presumably add Aeron Carr.
-
As I have said all along, I knew that would be a tough one to get. When he didn't commit the following week after his visit, I figured he would be looking closer to home.
-
Well, if Northern Illinois offered him, we were recruiting the right kid. Gotta give the coaches credit for that. This is the slippery slope that comes along with recruiting "studs" and FCS/FBS "fringe kids".

Saw on SFI Twitter account that Dickinson OL Jesse Kubik is going to ndsu: http://blogs.midcosportsnet.com/2013/01/signing-day-approaching-2/

Besides Mikias Alipate, UND hasn't lost anyone else that they were after hard against SDSU. Plus, we got Aeron Carr. The one I'm not entirely sure about is OL Joe Kucikevicius from Illinois. Not sure if he visited or how hard we were after him. The other remaining battle out there right now against SDSU is QB Tyler Rogers. Although I tend to think he won't end up at either school. As of now, Alipate is the only one UND has truly lost to SDSU on. We got Aeron Carr. Not bad considering how the 2 teams did the last few years.

Holy high school gym, Batman!

I believe Fahning has been heading to Minnesota for a while now. Maybe as a PWO? He would have been a miracle given his offers and options anyways. I've also heard Roller has academic issues, which is why we surprisingly haven't heard hardly anything about him. Would have loved to have him as well. Redmond is realistic and would be a great get. Competition is high on him too though. We shall see.

IMO - Kuksa and Reyes are both no-brainer safeties with Reyes being the best prospect to play right away next year. If we were lucky enough to get Thurman too, which I think is going to be extremely tough, he projects best as a OLB. Disterhaupt could also be a candidate to move around and play another position as well.
