Again, it could have changed and I could be wrong, but I thought I remember hearing something along those lines recently. I agree, it's unfortunate. Kid is a good player.
-
Respectfully Jim, I think he did...

Yeah I'm sure Tibesar is banging down UND's door. Not likely. Tibesar has FBS contacts all over and Marc Trestman to fall back on.
-
I believe Johs has decided not to play football in college. Unless something has changed recently, I thought I heard he's just going to school at Ohio State or something?
-
Yeah I really wish the coaches wouldn't say anything about recruiting. Then we could all sit here and wonder wth is going on each year. (smh)

Right, so how much of football IQ is innate or can actually be coached? How about comprehension of schemes and execution of assignments? Tackling? This 2012 defensive staff is the pretty much the same as it was in 2011. The 2011 defense was pretty good comparatively speaking. Did the defensive staff get dumber in one year or did the players have 'issues'? I guess I'll answer my own question by saying yes, I do believe the players will get smarter, more talented and execute better in 2013 on defense. I hope I'm right.

Ok, I'll give you tackling and corner alignment and put it on coaching. Been driving me nuts too. But my question was/is: do you think we will get better with talent, football IQ and assignment execution from a pure player standpoint next year as compared to this year? In your opinion?
-
I do agree that we may take a small step backwards offensively right away, given the youth and inexperience at the QB spot. I'm hoping we grow out of that by the midway point or so however. While there may or may not have been some philosophical/scheme issues, is it your opinion that the players performed to their potential and didn't have any mental or execution breakdowns on the field? And is it your opinion that they wont get smarter/better as players and a defense this year? Just curious.

I also don't believe any coaches will be leaving involuntarily. Like homer said, it would have happened already.

THAT Texas Tech team was head and shoulders above THAT 8-6 Central Michigan team. All day. But please continue with your ndsu insecurity and "SPS" on our forum. I apologize to everyone for even replying to this. Should have stuck with my guns. Back on topic.

No, actually I don't think he did...

We beat the Utah Utes? Wow, nice win ladies. Congrats.

I'm wondering how I'm lowering expectations by saying that I think people should man-up and be accountable for calling for people's jobs and livelihoods in such a cavalier manner? I wish hockey fans would do the same for Hakstol if that makes a difference for some reason. I don't think any of us would like it if faceless, anonymous people on a message board forum were calling for them to be fired at their respective jobs. Like I said, by all means ask for someone to be fired. Just put your name on it. No problem with that at all.

Here's my simpleton thoughts on this: Objectivity is great. Second-guess and criticize coaches and players all you want. We can all choose to agree or disagree on lots of that stuff. That's part of the reason why we are all here. However if you feel the need to call for another person's job and livelihood, please have the decency to put your name behind it. Myself and many others would totally respect that, even if it was my job they were calling for. Right or wrong, that's just how I see it. Rip away.

Dustin Adams will transfer to UND, not FU. Mark it down.
-
By the coaching staff or the Athletic Dept.?...
-
I think they should sign at least 1 WR in this class....2 at the very most if the talent warrants it.
-
That's interesting. I'd heard the opposite and that he wanted to go to FU. Hope you're right and I'm wrong.
-
Funny - the Timberwolves shot the exact same from the free throw line last night against Boston. How about we play some defense too? Could NOT get a stop last night. I agree, these 'characteristics' are getting old.

What an absolute tragedy. Can you say 'civil lawsuit'?

Hey at least "Denver University" fits the Summit League naming philosophy. They won't need to make them change their name. That had to be attractive for the Summit League.
-
Found this interesting tidbit in the 'twitterverse': "Denver's athletic/MBB budget ($24.6M/2.4M) will make it the immediate big dog in the Summit (top budgets $15.4M/1.6M, average $10.5M/0.98M)."

Looks like Denver is heading to the Summit League, per CBS Sports. WAC continues to be on life support...
