Just checked my Internet audio & it seems to be working fine..Hopefully I won't be talking to myself tonight. -
Shhhhhhh

I'll take this as a sign to go out & buy a lottery ticket

I can only imagine the absolute joy & euphoria in your household right now. You're probably still doing cartwheels & jumping up & down. Try not to injure yourself

Will there be any Sioux fans posting updates tonight? Never can tell with the suspect Internet broadcasts... -

I live in S. Phoenix right next to South Mountain. It's about 10 miles from both downtown & Mill Ave. Today was the first day in about 5 months where the high temp. was below 100 deg.

Yeah, & it's even cooler if you're a single young man cuz the ASU coeds are hhhhhot. Still laughing over your remark about receiving .50 off your next new or used car at Rydell Chevrolet from the prize-dispensing blimp..classic

I don't care much for this subjective interpretation of penalties. If it's a penalty, blow the whistle & send the guy to the freakin' sinbin. How difficult is that? This, imo, is a black & white issue & there should be no, "Well, he did mug the guy, but his team is down by 5 goals so I won't call a penalty" type of thinking. Naysayers say this would slow the game down drastically, but I think players would eventually get the message if enforced consistently. -

Will be interesting to see if they enforce obstruction-holding penalties this year or if they'll swallow their whistles & allow us to watch rugby on ice again. -
I think the only thing this facility has on REA is the seating capacity. I don't think they have an attached olympic-sized rink, leather seats, marble floors, etc. Nice try, Omaha I think it belongs to the city & hockey will be just one of many venues...

Sorry 'bout that...I meant to write "freshman" but wound up writing Ziegelmann...probably cuz I'm a N.D. homer & was subconciously thinking about Ziggy...don't want to be known as a misinformation specialist like "Baghdad Bob" -
Well, it's hard to believe that Sioux hockey starts tomorrow. I thought both Sioux & Bulldog fans could discuss the upcoming game here & also use it to post updates once it starts. Kinda makes me nervous to start Ziegelmann in goal, maybe it's just pre-game jitters. I respect Blais' rationale for this: to set an example...

Diggler, In his new photo, Schneider looks like a little boy who got caught with his hands in the cookie jar. You think such an innocent-looking lad is still capable of dispensing pain with his fists?

For comparison, Ariz. St. has a similar assortment of businesses along a 1-mile strip called Mill Ave. These establishments consist of sidewalk cafes, trendy boutiques, bars, bookstores, a Japanese restaurant & a large movie theater. This area is the place to be on weekends & is packed with out-of-staters when the Fiesta Bowl comes to town. Many Phx. residents also enjoy the amenities &, like Jim said, it no doubt makes the streets safer because the bars practically border the campus. The only drawback is the high # of transients & runaway school kids who loiter around the area. Hope UND/GF do a lot of planning before allowing development of another hotel. Would it be feasible with a weak Canadian dollar & would occupancy rates be adequate during slow economic times? It sounds like G.F. is trying to become another tourist town & I don't think there are enough attractions there to support a plethora of hotels. But maybe that line in "Field of Dreams" holds true: "Build it & they will come"...Note: I'm all for more businesses around the campus but am a little skeptical about too many possible hotels. But I'm sure they'll analyze the feasibility aspects fully before breaking ground.

No disrespect, but having the most experience & being the hardest working doesn't necessarily make one the most talented. I think Blais said recently that having 4 goalies was akin to having 17 forwards. Someone had to go & unfortunately he was the odd man out...
-
We'll see if you truly believe in this argument next time UND finishes #16 in the PWR & are excluded at the expense of some team like Mercyhurst or Niagara. Sioux fans would be outraged & there'd probably be a contract put out on the entire NCAA selection committee

I rebutted Happy & Scooby over the summer but realized I was fighting a losing battle. I work in the mental health field & see many traits that parallel these dimwits. They both display constant attention-seeking behaviors that are a sign of a Borderline personality. Cupcake this & cupcake that are nothing more than "Hey, look at me & respond to my posts" cries. Responding to them just perpetuates their little games; ignoring them over a long period would probably make them move on to some other shtick/act. Sioux fans who continue flaming with them won't make them go away (& you know who you are ) I learned my lesson the hard way...

Autobids=college hockey's version of affirmative action. It's got some merits, but every year excludes teams that have a chance in favor of some creampuffs.
-
That's funny...the Bemidji State Beavers actually got votes. When did politics creep into college hockey? I could be mistaken, are they loaded with blue chippers this year?

You can thank HIPAA for keeping us in limbo. Some people don't mind this new policy, but I think otherwise. If/when a Sioux player gets injured, we fans won't learn of this until the actual game starts & we see that so & so isn't dressed. Or if a player is carried off the ice in a stretcher in front of 11,500 fans. Other than that we'll be clueless. Were there some observant members of this board at the Green/White game who noticed some missing players (besides Palmo)? Because the media won't be reporting injuries from here on out, fans will have to play Columbo at the games & kindly report back to the rest of us if they have time...

I like giving certain people the benefit of the doubt, even though I know deep down they'll always be hopeless, eternal jacka$$es

Good one lol!! Screw blimps & fat polar bears. I'd like to see the Coors twins--that would fill the seats, for sure. If they have a Hooters restaurant in G.F., what's wrong with hiring a big-chested girl to walk up & down the aisles 2 nights/week?

I don't know how that Blais quote Greyeagle used could be so easily misunderstood. Jeepers creepers, the whole theme of that article was last season's nonconf. schedule & why Blais likes a mixture of strong & weak teams. Not flaming, just surprised. On a lighter note, only 3 days to another Sioux hockey season. 6 months of pacing & nailbiting ahead
