You guys are hilarious, but I feel it would be wiser & more productive to yell very loudly. I think BC players would get more distracted with 11,500 screaming fans than a corny cutout of Flutie, unless you guys are just planning this for comedic purposes. Sioux aren't exactly at full strength while BC is locked & loaded. I think they have all their guys back, while Zach is perhaps less than 100%, M. Jones is still aching & Prpich is out Friday night. Don't exactly know the status of McMahon, either, & how healthy he is...

Zach's passion to play despite a semi-serious injury just reinforces my belief about hockey players: They are the grittiest, most dedicated players on the planet. A baseball player bruises his pinky & we have a major whinefest on our hands & he's out of the line-up 3-4 weeks...
-
Surprised at his speedy recovery thus far; hope he doesn't aggravate it...

Pat delivers again for the out-of-staters! Great news about Parise & thx to Sandelin for the inside info about B.C....
-
Thx a lot, sdd. Very impressed with their endurance-everyone ran between 5:10 & 5:35 miles

Diggler, What got you into trouble on USCHO? I kinda thought you were walking a fine line there for a long time. Hope your cellmate in cyberprison isn't named Bubba or Leroy, & remember, don't bend over if you drop something. Look on the bright side, at least you'll learn a valuable skill like making license plates

The downside to that is you'd probably start to smell by Saturday night Does anyone know the difference between the USHL & the NAHL? I thought I read one time that the USHL had higher-skilled teams from top to bottom but I'm not sure...

The USA Today/American Hockey Magazine poll has the Sioux at 3rd & the Gophers at 5th. Not that polls are all that accurate, mind you...
-
There were some shifts in this week's USA Today/American Hockey Magazine poll: Sioux jumped from 5th to 3rd BC jumped from 3rd to 1st Gophers fell from 1st to 5th Maine jumped from 13th to 5th I got these results from the official Sioux site; don't know how accurate it is...

Thx for the update...Would it be uncommon for an athlete with a strained MCL to play 6 days after the injury happened?
-
As long as they dial down the middle, 1-800-CALL-ATT. "It's free for you & cheap for them." Flickertail could probably benefit from a meaningful relationship-the sooner the better. Maybe this would channel his energies in a more appropriate direction...

Colby Genoway was a freshman in 2002-03, I believe. The roster now lists him as a junior. Did he lose a year of eligibility due to playing a game in major juniors?
-
No disrespect towards women's hockey & their fans, but women's athletics will never have the same interest level as their Y-gene counterparts, imo. You can market the hell out of it & 95% (at least) of fans will want to see the men instead. Maybe in a matriarchal-run socialist state where we were forced, but not under the present circumstances. Why drive in a Beetle when you can glide in a Rolls?

Thx for the recap, PCM. I often wondered why they don't pay their game reporters, but I suppose the media pass (free games), access to the players & notoriety are compensation enough Not to mention that other media outlets probably read the recaps & this could lead to a lucrative career in journalism It's nice to hear that their coach didn't want his guys to thug around last night; wouldn't have been nice going against BC sans 3 or 4 additional players. Sounds like he had a lot of respect for the Sioux...

I'm sure Zach's injury has a lot of Sioux faithful concerned; please post any updates as they become available. Speedy recovery, Zach!

There were reports that he was behind the REA, drunk & trying to pick up old ladies. A sad day in Sioux sports...
-
They have an interesting poll at USCHO asking fans there what they think of women's hockey. Last time I checked, more than half of the respondents said they had no interest whatsoever in this brand of hockey. Of course, most of the fans who voted are no doubt males...

Thx, PCM. Somewhat promising news given the circumstances *walking without much trouble*...Any drs. or pre-meds out there that care to offer their opinion? ScottM: Tim's color guy said that. He said that sprains typically aggravate a lot longer & that it takes longer to get up to speed than a tear. Said something to the effect that if it were a tear he could go under the knife & rehab quicker (unless I heard it bass ackwards)...
-
Anyone with half a brain wouldn't listen to an opposing fan in the first place...
-
They're saying it takes a lot longer with a sprain than a tear...Parise looked somber in the dressing room, according to Hennessy...
-
RubeIdiot: You're right, it is an MCL issue...
-
All Blais said about Zach is that he was twisting when he went into the boards. Announcers saying something about a possible MCL but not sure--just speculating; will be evaluated on Monday...
-
7-1 Sioux...Porter from Stafford. Game over. NDH: It'd be nice if I actually knew that woman
-
That's the downside to playing a crappy team that doesn't get many shots on goal--a goalie's save % goes to hell if said crappy team scores...
-
Why pay for only a partial game, though? 6-1 Sioux.
