Oh man, puck hops Geno's stick at the doorstep.

Hey all. GO SIOUX!!

I guess what's even more absurd is that the regents approved his curriculum. Now's not exactly a good time to be a Georgia alum

As long as Blais doesn't give his players Jim Harrick, Jr.-like tests I have no problem with him A) How many halves are in a college basketball game? B) How many quarters are in a high school basketball game? C) How many points does a 3-point field goal count for? Seriously, these were the types of Qs he was giving his players in one of his classes at the U. of Georgia

Maybe that will become a reality once they add more faculty & resources in the Fargo community. After all, this is a fledgling program there. Give it some time.

Nice uplifting article to end the week. Sweet music to my ears. Wonder if NDSU is planning a tit-for-tat response by opening an NDSU branch in G.F. for classes like "The Bovine Renaissance" or "The importance of the pork industry in post-Lincoln America."

From my understanding, Blais levies similar tongue-lashings against other position players as well. I recall Blais saying last year that Greene was killing the team at times with stupid penalties & also benched him on occasion because of something he did earlier in a game. Massen also had to wear some kind of different-colored jersey in practice last year (I forget exactly) that made him stick out like a leper after some lackluster game performance & this was made known to the media. So it's not just goalies that Blais rips. Maybe Blais' intent, besides just letting off steam, is to see how his players handle pressure & if will they respond. That way, when we get to the FF, Blais knows which players respond best to pressure. Better to test them now than be uncertain when the Big Dance rolls around. Just my 2 pennies.

[sagard-quote]Stating the obvious, the Gophs have a lot to prove the next three weeks to make anyone think they have a chance at the Frozen Four.

In your opinion, would they be put in the BC or Maine bracket?

1. I demand that North Star gets laid before he explodes. 2. I demand that Red Wing be nominated for the 1st annual Mapletoft Award. 3. I demand that PCM improve his knowledge of Cold War Soviet goalies. 4. I demand that farce poobah collaborate with YaneA in teaching today's students creative cheers. 5. I demand that dagies not be so even-keeled. 6. I demand that Jim Dahl be less analytical. 7. I demand that cheeringsiouxfromsmoggycali & I not be attacked by illegal aliens before our 50th birthdays. 8. I demand Diggler respect his elders more. 9. I demand less polls about cute Sioux players on this site. 10. I demand the Sioux win #8 this year. 1-9:

Is that place still in the same location? When I went there a couple of times ( ), walking out of that place was a real humbling experience--especially in broad daylight. You exit their front door &**POW** it seemed like half of Grand Forks was looking at you & judging you. If you want to be seen in G.F., just go to that location. You'd think they'd make a back-door entrance, especially in a small city like that. I say hoist the MacNaughton whenever they clinch it. If the guys win Friday & Duluth loses, Blais telling the team they can't parade around the rink with the Cup until after the series is over won't make them play any harder Saturday if they've already clinched it Friday.

F'n hilarious. Without "the", Sicatoka would be half the man he is today

If only every married man were as fortunate as you. I hope you put that beautiful lady on a pedestal where she belongs

I think "the" is a common & essential word of any American dialect. If someone says, "I'm going to Forks" it sounds incomplete & moronic (sorry again, jakester, just my opinion). If you don't throw a "the" in there it makes Forks sound like a verb & not a noun like it was intended.

Kinda stings to get corrected by a know-it-all whippersnapper, huh? Good job!

Gee, thanks for sharing with the whole world that I'm not the southernmost fan. I feel so average now.

I think it would be funny to see Jon Pittis (5'5", 155) & John Scott (6'7", 235) as roommates at the motel, ala Tattoo & Lerch. A true odd couple.

I can only imagine, barring any upsets, what it would be like for the Tech players to stay in G.F. the entire week. They'll probably arrive Wed. or Thurs. this week & leave the following Saturday or Sunday.
-
I'm not trying to be insulting in any way, but saying just "Forks" sounds kinda, well, retarded. "Hey, Dave, let's go to Forks." It just doesn't sound right & it makes it seem either like the person saying it has never heard of "the" or he's not very smart. Again, I'm not trying to be rude, jakester, as I grew up there myself. JMNSHO...

I wouldn't start a thread like this if the Sioux were having a bad year, but because we're on the verge of something great, I was wondering what Sioux hockey fans do to bring their team luck. Some wear their favorite Sioux jersey, some drink alcohol, some rub rosary beads, some keep their fingers crossed the entire game, some pray, etc. I personally jot down the goals as they're scored & try to send the guys positive vibes; if I'm not doing these things I don't feel 100% into the game & the team might not do well as a result.

"I'm gonna wash that gray right outta my hair.." What happened to the brown locks, PCM? Did Father Time swipe them just like the Kaiser stole Grandpa Simpson's "twenty"?
-
Nick: Keep up the great work!! We've got a strong contingent of Sioux fans in Arizona & we're all behind you guys 110%!!

Careful, Diggler, age & guile always wins over youth & enthusiasm. "It's too bad that youth has to be wasted on the young"--anon

That's a matter of opinion. A team that was struggling somewhat the past month to realize its potential is an underdog in my eyes when compared to a team that was unbeaten in 2004 and playing in its own arena . Hypothetically forecasting, if next year the Sioux are riding a 15-game unbeaten streak & Duluth comes to REA having formerly been #1 but have struggled in recent weeks, I think it's fair to say you guys will be slight underdogs. No one's right in this debate because it's a subjective view. However, I think it was mighty clever of Blais to use this psychological ploy to his team's advantage. I'm just glad no players suffered any season-ending injuries & the fact it was played at such a high level should really get these guys well-primed & ready for the playoffs.
