  1. Fudge. Clay Wilson makes it 1-1. Smaby didn't have his stick for a while there.
  2. Shoot, Fylling denied. 01grad: YES!! We think alike.
  3. YES!! Parise from Stafford for his 19th of the year. 1-0 Sioux.
  4. Oh, man, Murray stopped on 3-on-2.
  5. Brandt in goal. Puck dropped. Let's go Sioux!!
  6. I wonder who's reffing tonight.
  7. Hakstol said it looks like Tech is loading up their top 2 lines...I don't know if that'll matter, though.
  8. 1-0 Gophers halfway through the 1st against SCSU (Vanelli).
  9. I don't think I've ever seen so many people as the ones here who use a website while at work. Besides you knucklehead students, who the hell pays you guys to post b.s. all day? Punks, all of you.
  10. Don't forget about Duluth. One would be a fool not to lay some money down on them. How they are 10-1 & SCSU is 6-1 is beyond me. Sounds like they just drew some names out of a hat on some of these picks.
  11. Since when did they legalize crack in Nevada? They've given SCSU the same odds as Maine & way better odds than Duluth; & the Gophers also get better odds than the Sioux.
  12. Not yet. But when Jones gets here, definitely. It's difficult getting excited about perennial losers. You knew they were doomed when they unloaded Selanne before coming to the desert. And then they release Numminen, a stabilizing force at defense for eons, at the beginning of this season. And to top it off, they fired Bobby Francis a few weeks ago. Sure, give the coach ZERO talent & expect him to work miracles with Jerry's kids; he was the fall guy for some awful trade decisions made by management. I'd get more bang for the buck by flushing my money down the toilet. Things can only get better for them (& it's starting to improve with the acquisition of goalie Brent Johnson from the Blues) but it'll take a few years & they stink right now.
  13. Aren't most Sioux hockey players from outside N.D. & won't they have to meet these higher standards? Is Kupchella trying to turn UND into a little Harvard on the Prairie?
  14. Landon will be missed...he was a fan favorite & a big financial backer for disadvantaged people (I think mentally retarded kids) in the Phoenix community. A class act. Of all the ex-collegiate players on the Coyotes roster, I like Taffe the best...seems to have a natural instinct for the game, above-average speed & a precision shot. Kolanos, on the other hand, was sent down to the minors for a heart transplant a couple months ago because he was playing uninspired hockey; is back up now & his play seems to have improved as a result.
  15. Skateshattrick: Thanks for providing the general outline so Schmidtdoggydog could fill in all the details Great job, both of you!! Am surprised that Stafford is replacing Genoway on the 1st line. I thought there was good chemistry with Stafford on the 4th line.
  16. Kinda like Lita "I went to a party on a Saturday night, couldn't get laid, got in a fight, uh huh..it ain't no big thing" Ford.
  17. Agree with your summary; but I also want to point out that the Coyotes fall in the "inept" range when it comes to maximizing the talent they have to its fullest potential. Ex: The Coyotes unloaded Daniel Briere to the Sabres in exchange for Gratton. While Briere was in Phoenix he was consistently one of the best players on the ice but, for whatever reason, never saw a whole lot of playing time--always getting sent down to Hershey or wherever the Coyotes' minor league team is, even after he scored 2 or 3 goals in a particular game. Makes me wonder if management had it in for him or just didn't have a lot of confidence in him. We get Gratton & he flops while he's here; same thing with Amonte. Phoenix is a joke when it comes to its professional teams--I'm becoming convinced it has something to do with the water or heat here because this city is just flat-out unable to produce a winner. Even the smartass sports editor in the local rag here is starting to question Gretzky's emotional commitment to the team because he's rarely at the games & also criticizes some of the management choices he's made. I agree that Phoenix got the upper hand in this deal but let's see if they can make anything come of it. Hopefully everyone's happy & the deal will be a good fit for those involved. I don't know what Colorado was thinking when they did this--Gratton's a big oaf out there but, because he's leaving Phoenix & no longer subject to our water supply and heat, will probably become a force in Colorado. Note: The Coyotes have a few former college hockey players on their roster: Comrie Kolanos Taffe Westrum (I think this is "Erik" who used to play for the Gophers) Ballard (soon) Jones (soon) Wyatt Smith (used to play here but maybe he's in the minors now or has been traded)
  18. Love your attitude, Siouxpergreen, it's downright contagious. We should keep in mind that B.C. & Maine play in a notably inferior conference compared to the Sioux. No conference is as top-to-bottom tough as the WCHA & I doubt their goalie stats would be as impressive here. Would be kind of formidable to play B.C. in the final--14,000 or so Eagles fans & a few 1,000 Sioux fans (estimate).
  19. Agreed. Most overrated b.s. series in the history of t.v. Never understood people's fascination with a bunch of liberals using a sitcom to spread their holier than thou anti-war bias. Oh well, go Warroad!
  20. I'm assuming one of the Sioux asst. coaches will be in attendance & that we might get some signings (or at least commitments) from players in this tournament shortly after it's over. We should be taking advantage of our #1 ranking & enticing as many blue chippers as possible.
  21. Just wondering: IF the Sioux make it to the Final Five but happen to lose there, will that affect what region they are placed in or will the Sioux pretty much lock up a certain regional with their results next weekend?
  22. How can anyone not vote for Murray? Anyone who looks like they're 14 but plays like they're 24 gets my vote. Although Porter doesn't have nearly the #s, he's been awfully important also.
  23. Babes beware...the North Star cometh. Just remember us little folks, please. Seriously, good job!!
  24. Grand Forks residents: If you're at a convenience store the day North Star goes Hollywood (has his interview published) & can't find a single issue of the Herald available, rest assured that he probably bought all remaining issues so he could impress the local chicks. We must all remember that his quest for a babe supercedes your desire to read the daily obits or some lame article about sugar beets.
