You can't spell meathead without Willie Mitchell

We've said this a hundred times. We said something similar after they were swept by UMD earlier in the year. The Gophers are getting their losing done now so that when they get to the second half, they can focus on winning. It's almost an unintentional game of turtle. They play belly up, lose a few key games, drop out of the picture, lose the hype, and then just win the rest of the season. It happens all the time.

Yeah but is he dumb enough to be cited by Minnesota fans as being stupid? When that happens, DeMarchi-dom will be truly attained. I was in the TC just before the Frozen Four last season and I sat there talking to a die hard Gopher fan about DeMarchi and he said "Dumb as a rock but we love him." So far, no one has said that about Ballard.

I don't have them but Jordan Parise and Robbie Bina's cards were dropped from the blimps one night.

The chick on the far right in the picture where they are in bikini tops is hot too! Woooooo... Too bad we don't have a beach.

I find it amusing that that NDSU fans would rather see teams from Alabama or wherever win rather than bringing an NC back to ND. I mean, truthfully, what does NDSU care about how UND does? They're now DIAA. It's not like we're status quo next year. Sheesh. State pride is obviously not a priority. UND squeaks by on a Glas field goal. 38-35 UND

Hey, it looks like the Gophers are going to replace DeMarchi

Look at the fool walking in on the bottom left side of the screen. He isn't even watching and he has the best spot in the whole darn world for this unbelievable goal. Wow.

Ok, finals are fast approaching and so is this major series. I figure now is the time to start this thread because I really don't know if holding up signs at the u-18 game would be an efficient use of our time. So post away folks!

I give you a thumbs down. Mapletoft. That chump owes me money!

CAN be a good one. When he's on his game, he's really really good. But I'm going to wait until Saturday to pass any form of judgement. These two teams are really really good. The winner of this game will win the National Championship. I'm sure of it.

Bah, PCM. It's the Canadian spelling After all, the Cohen brothers put out a movie about Arizona, North Dakota, and they may as well hit Canada too... but then again, South Park will always have the cornerstone in making fun of Canada. As for Fargo, the movie was filmed mainly in Bismarck, Brainerd (MN), White Bear Lake (MN), and the Twin Cities (Minneapolis, St. Paul). However, there was one scene, the opening scene I think, that was actually filmed in Fargo. Oh, and I think there was some filming in Grand Forks too. But, no, nothing from Fargo really. And there were even three actors in the movie from Fargo: the actress who gets kidnapped in the beginning, and the two bad guys. Notice how none have accents. What a bad movie. It would be like making a movie called Florence (Why? I don't know) and then filming the entire thing in Baton Rouge.

Their main threats are Brandon Scero (10 goals) and Chad Kolarik, Bryan Lerg, Geoff Paukovich (6 goals each). Assists leaders are Bryan Lerg, Kevin Swallow, and Nate Hagemo (tied with 8 assists each). These goals and assists information is dated, only accurate to November 3rd, but there you go. Here's the NTDP Roster who has so far signed with a College according to USCHO: Chad Kolarik -- Michigan Kevin Porter -- Michigan Brandon Scero -- Ohio State Matthew Kaiser -- Mankato Matt Auffrey -- Wisconsin Nate Hagemo -- Minnesota Mike Brennan -- Boston College

Chris- No one truly believes what is said about Alabama, although some of us seem to use it to throw back at those who don't understand who we are. You see, the only thing that makes us stand out to people outside of the upper midwest who are not hockey fans is the movie "Fargo." Which is nothing but stereotypes. In fact, that's the reason I refuse to watch anything done by the producers of "Fargo." I don't need to sit in a theater to watch the place I grew up in insulted and and the people made out to look like idiouts. Not all of us are dumb norweigens just like not everyone at UNA are dumb rednecks. We have tradition here at UND and we draw fans. Unfortunately, football is the #2 sport at our University, so the sport draws less fans than our #1 sport, which is hockey. We regularly draw 9,000 to 12,000 fans to hockey games depending upon the opponent so we are not ignorant of sports up here. UNA is definitely the team to beat. You guys have a great football team, but I know nothing about you or even your University in general. But I expect this to be THE game of the playoffs for UND. If we win, we will win another National Championship, I'm positive of this. If we don't, we did good this season and have nothing to be ashamed of losing to a superior opponent.

My vote is someone who has a clue? I don't know... If PCM's voice was only suited for something better than web articles

Point taken. Jordan is a good goalie and I don't know much about Ziggy to make judgement either way. I should have kept my mouth shut. Sorry folks.

I think U of M has something to look up to. I still argue that Minny's defeat of the Wolverinas (Wolverines wearing tutus) really is a big defeat for the Wolverinas. Michigan is a devastating team if they can get on their game. U of M is now being called a cupcake and that is what helped them obliterate MSU and Michigan. That Gopher fan said that the outcomes will be different. He's right. Instead of blowing them away, I predict we'll win by maybe a goal or two both nights. U of M is improving nicely and their defense will improve exponentially now that Ballard has returned (and provided he stays healthy), but they are not really in a position to defeat a team like UND in its current state. However, we could pull an SCSU like we did last season. THat is possible, but unlikely. I think the key is with Ballard. If he goes down or we hold him and Vanek unproductive, we'll win easily.

For those of us who don't patrol the POI board, which ESPN post is that? As for my reaction about Montoya, nothing against Ziggy or JPar, or Lammy, but Brandt/Montoya 1-2 punch would be devastating.

Ryan Bayda update: He's playing every game but seeing less than 10 minutes a game it seems like. Good News: 2 Goals 1 Assist Seeing time on penalty kill Bad News: +/- is -5

It's all about the D and getting the puck to go where you want it. Michigan has really struggled in their transition game and they have had a tendency to leave Montoya out to dry. It's depressing really because Montoya is definitely one of the best goaltenders in the NCAA. What is the moral to Montoya's story? Should have come to UND Then Michigan State could have had Siembida and we'd be rolling in the wins and NCs. Not that Brandt isn't doing well this year, but Montoya is G O O D!

Welcome Winona? Careful for what you wish for. That would mean we'd have more competition in the NCC... or at least HAVE competition in the NCC. Now that NDSU has jumped ship, we need a chief rival. Winona may be a good candidate, to be honest. But I'm not so much of a football guy.

I echo Jim's statement as well as MNS' statement. A win is a win is a win. A point is a point is a point. If the Sioux beat UNA 21 to 20 or 44-3, is it that big of a difference? Is the "W" in the UND's column straighter? Capitol W surely instead of the lower case w that would be there if they won by less than a touchdown. Nope. Still a win. Let's put it another way. Say UND DOES get their helmets handed to them vs UNA. What would happen? Nothing. I'd still be happy with UND's season. They swept the conference! They were the best team out of any team ranked below UNA. They made it to the semifinals. I'm damn proud of them for making it this far. I hope they make it but I'm just proud to be a UND fan right now. GO SIOUX!

If you keep up this kind of analysis on Sioux players, Greyeagle, some of those posters on USCHO will question your loyalties. I myself already know you are a closet UND fan
