I hear that already. I've heard it along the lines of the Cubs fans in Atlanta this past postseason or Sioux hockey fans at nearly every other WCHA arena. To me, that's what I call pride. I hope we are up to the task. MAYBE Bowencamp should practice the silent count this week in practice

I can't help but echo what a lot have said. I dislike racial slurs to no end. Those same fans who said them would be on your side of the fence if they were slurred upon. It's sad. They shouldn't happen in the first place. UNA is a great team. I watched it from home (darn homework) and I was VERY VERY VERY impressed with that linebacker... Wisdom (#50 whoever he is). I think he might make the NFL. He always seems to be in the area of the football and he hits like a madman! Like PCM said, Hall is a class act. I've NEVER seen a QB do that. Especially when the TD was basically meaningless. It raised my eyebrows. But man is he short I wish I was going down south to Florence. Lionfan03, jim, Chris, or any UNA fan who reads this board. GVSU fans too: We are NOT all like that. I will not deny that there are those of us who do do things like that or call you all a liar. But PLEASE don't label us for the actions of some of our so called fans. We love the Sioux very very much, like you love the Lions or Lakers or what have you. My regret is that I didn't get to meet any of you. Some of you, like Jim and Chris, seem like good people. Trust me, there is nothing I like more than talking up the sport you love with someone who loves it just as much as you do who can add something to the conversation instead of just nodding yup all the time. That's what good fans can do even when they don't have the same team to root for. If only the championship game ws the 20th. By the way, I'm fairly certain that the crowd that comes down to Florence will be very different than the home crowd up here. They'll be die hard, but I think they'll be well versed at whose home this is.

It seems to me that I recall a time when UMD was as bad as the Gophers seem to be this year and when they came to the Ralph, they seemed like at any moment, they'd whoop us. The Gophers being eliminated would stun us. Probably put Greyeagle and sagard seeking professional help. I'd be stunned personally. How could a team aas good as the Gophers were the past two seasons go to hell without losing a lot of people? Say what you want, but you can't pin all of this on Briggs and JJ. I don't think you can even pin it on the freshmen in general. I made a post like this on USCHO. But that place is not the best place I've ever been to message board wise. Before I went there, I never knew how vicious people flamed other people. And sometimes it's just flaming for the sake of flaming. What a group.

take a train? Is that possible? Greyhound?

Nothing was more dumb than the plar bear with GF AFB on its backside. That was disrespectful though I am not sure if that bear is a Ralph mascot. It could be the base's which means that someone overlooked that when it was made. As for that show that Santa came on, I don't watch that show anyways. It's fluff. When was the good times when they would show TV over the jumbo tron before the games? That would have been nice to see. And what was with the speakers last night? Were only half of them on? It was an off night for everyone at the Ralph pretty much.

Championship game on ESPN With GVSU and UND in it, who will ESPN favor? Can't be UND, they don't even know where Grand Forks is. Come to think of it, I don't know where GVSU is located But GVSU gets all the airtime if this game gets ANY airtime pregame.

They are going to score. Mark my words. Let's see if we can hold them to 3
-
I stand corrected. Hall just threw an INT. A floater that reminded me of some games in UND's past. We're trying to coast. It's only a 16 point game right now. Yeah, that is significant but it is not enough. We need to run up the score at least until we are up by 30 points
-
I stand corrected. Bowencamp looks lethargic out there. They are stopping Roland too. This team is back on track. (UNA)

WDAZ needs to work on camera work. Damn near shoved that camera up that official's nose.

I never really understood why they couldn't use the Dome for basketball and volleyball? I admit those courts are small, but the facilities in Fargo Mooorhead for basketball and volleyball suck all the way around. Name a college in F-M and their basketball facilities suck.

What his head can't hold, his ego and his gut will support Taunt me at the game about Mapletoft, will you?

That would explain it. Thanks Jim

cali and 1234 guess what... BISON ARE D IAA NOW! UND IS NOT GOING DIAA! END OF STORYLINE! TOPIC OVER! GET OVER IT OR SEEK HELP! I would kindly ask the administrator to lock threads or delete posts that concern anything with UND going D-IAA. The issue is closed. Talk football or get lost.

Bowencamp is on his game. He won't reach 140 screen passes today. Roland is looking impressive, but I am curious to see how his legs will be in the second half, especially the 4th quarter. All that work is bound to make him really really tired. And #26 for UND (Sorry, don't know much about our team I admit it) should have intercepted that pass. It went right to his hands. As for the punt, it was a gooood punt. I am just thinking that it seemed like #3 for UNA was awfully close to our player when the ball arrived. Don't you have to give him a 2 yard bubble of some kind? I don't know, maybe there was. Camera angles don't show short distances well. Lakerfan- UNA's defense isn't tackling well. Roland breaks like 3 tackles a run it seemed like for the last 7 minutes of the half (I missed the first part of the game )

I'm not fitness or nutritional guru, but what goes in my body of that supplement nature is pretty important. I would think he would have READ THE LABEL!

bemidji? I didn't even kow they had a bsketball team!
-
Agreed. UND will win again In any case, why do they interview sports players anyways? I mean, they are dunderheads (some of them) and they only say something the six year old begging for an autograph behind him could probably figure out. John Madden -most annoying dolt in professional sportscasting. Dick Vitale is ok, but I can't stand that term: "Diaper dandies." It sounds like he's lookin for some young 'action.'

A product that surely is on the top 50 worst names for a product in the history of consumerism?

I think this was an extraordinary exhibition game. You see, I bet Blais put the emphasis on winning the game, yet I don't think he really wanted to run up the score like he was unafraid of doing versus any of the college opponents he's played so far. This team is a bunch of high schoolers. Though most have been taken, some have not committed to any college teams. They also chat with the U-17 team. Good words about the Sioux help in recruiting. Beating them 8-0 may not exactly help them look favorably on this college. That is one perspective. THe other things to bear in mind is that no one wanted to get injured because of the dire consequences that it would have when Parise, Stafford, and Murray leave for WJC. That's why Massen probably wasn't playing hard and neither was really anyone other than Fabian, Porter, Fylling, Canady, and Foyt. Yes, this game was a yawner, but it wasn't exactly in front of a great crowd either. Was this 6900 and change the lowest regular season attendence for any game ever played at the new Ralph? I know they put attendence numbers on the roster papers they handed out but the Denver game that had just under 5000 people attend was IN Denver.

Gee, shmitty and PCM making comments from the gutter. All we need is SFiP and a Mapletoft reference and we've got the average thread here Nothing lewd or like that. Just words thrown at me of a nasty nature.

Heh, I guess Kolarik did get on the scoreboard. And I got under Hegemo's skin, I swear. He would start to come towards the student section during warmup,s but then he'd turn around and skate away as soon as I started taunting him and his gophers. Ok, maybe he didn't hear me or he didn't skate away because of my taunting, but I can dream! As for U-18... I coudln't really taunt them. It's still ticking me off. I could only really taunt Hegemo because he's going to Minnesota. Why couldn't they be the U-18 Cockroaches or something? Throw me a bone here. It's no fun taunting the U.S.

You are one of a growing crowd, Dave. I dislike the WWE (HEH, they lost their name to a bunch of tree huggers! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA) for various reasons that I won't go into, but I think fights have a place in hockey. Here's why: Fights just for the sake of fighting is not allowed. In the NHL, the league office watches every scrum or happening during a game and has an official aside from the refs at each game. It's the same with the WCHA (the dude usually stands in the opponent's penalty box area during the game). Every big penalty, espeically double minors and greater, are reviewed by the office to investigate further punishment. The same goes for fights. A good example is if a fight is instigated by a team that is winning the game. There is no reason for a team who is winning to start a fight, therefore the league could come down on the player. Usually, however, the winning team's player who starts the fight is given a 5 minute major for fighting, a 2 minute minor for instigating and a game misconduct. Usually, fights are staged. No, I'm not saying that before each game players and coaches from other teams get together and say "At this time these guys will fight." I'm saying that they'll ask each other if they want to drop the gloves either right after a stoppage of play or soon after the puck is dropped. The player who is being asked always has the opportunity to skate away if he wants. Fights are also staged in that they can add up to being a firestarter for the losing team, especially if it is percieved that their teammember "won" the fight. A twist in momentum like that is all that is needed to turn the game around sometimes. Admittedly so, you don't HAVE to fight to turn the game around, but sometimes, that's what happens. Fights are getting fewer and farther in between as those players who are labelled "enforcers" are tasked with having a more offensive contribution to the team. That's why you see Tie Domi, Donald Brashear, Kirk Matlby, Darren McCarty, and the like trying to score more or set something up. Fighting is still a legitamite thing to do in the NHL, but it is slowly becoming more of a desperation tactic than anything else.
