Instant classic! I also like how he says Stafford and Brady Murray

It is interesting to look at USCHO after games where Greene features a big hit, penalized or otherwise. He is the cheapest player in WCHA history behind the likes of Commodore, and every other Sioux defenseman that turned down the opportunity to play at that perspective fan's team Of course, those Gopher fans probably wouldn't admit to wanting someone like Greene or Commodore on their team. Lucia doesn't recruit thugs... except for Taylor, but he's gone now so Lucia can breathe easier now. Oh, one question about Greene's play. Was that before or after Jordan was kneed in the mask?

He does have a political radio show, but I don't care about that. I may disagree with what he has to say, but the less we hear of Scott at the Ralph the more we hear of the other guy. Scott's so much better. Imitation may not be the best idea for the backup dude, but he could show a little bit of style.

He didn't do a bad job, but I like Scott better. He makes the names and the actions a lot better... such as COL BY GENOWAY!!! or RO BBIE BIIIIINNNAAA!!!! and so on. Yeah, it's kind of superficial to base the quality of a PA announcer based on how they pronounce names and a few words (Fighting Sioux SCORING!), but apart from the fact that if they don't screw up somehow, there really isn't much else to critique. IMO

Since I'm no longer tired after cheering my head off, there are a few players who didn't score goals that deserve mention: 1. Phil - He played solidly tonight with the exception of what truly can be considered a weak goal. He came out way too far and got caught. I am not saying he should stay under the crossbar all the time, but it did seem a bit too easy. Couple that with the lack of D anywhere near the SCSU player, and it was not avoidable. 2. Bina- This guy was unbelievable. Yes, he did get an assist on the night, but his defensive prowess was awesome. He must have blocked 5 shots at least. I LOVE this guy's defensive posture. Small, but willing to hit, not so long of a reach, but willing to block shots at will. If you ask me, Bina, if his play continues could end up wearing a letter on his jersey in two years... if he gets the playing time. 3. Greene- Did he get a single penalty tonight? He played VERY VERY well tonight. He blocked a shot and got up slowly, I noticed he returned later so no worries. 4. Porter- Ok, put aside two unbelievable moves, he didn't score. HOWEVER, on the penalty kill, only Prpich was more effective. His jump was there, his game was too. He only needed a goal to make it into the top games of his season so far. Other notables: Massen had a decent night for the time he had on the ice. He shot it when he had to and did relatively well. Foyt played, which will make Federov happy, but he wasn't a factor really. Let's beat them again!!!!!

JPar was on the ice tonight, but it appeard as though he wasn't taking too much heavy action. I'm not sure who will be in nets tommorrow, but I'm betting it will be Brandt or Lammy again. We won tonight pretty easily and Boron seemed to leave with an injury of some sort. I say give Brandt the start. See if he has game still.

I thought all around we had a great game! Our passing, for the most part was good. We seemed to just about have our way with the Huskies. We also played solid D and beat the Huskies to the puck. Also of note: Our forechecking was tremendous and we won a LOT of faceoffs.

Measured. Like I said, the biggest thing UND has going for them is the fact that Toews returned to SSM this year when he could have reported to Tri City. The drawback is that if he comes to UND, he will probably not stay long. 2 years tops. I would say that it is 60-40 right now with 60 being WHL and 40 UND.

I agree totally. He could have been playing already in a league that is more respected than the NAHL, but instead, blew it by trying out. Don't know what he thought was going to happen, but I'm sure he found out when they decided to play Foyt and Fuher as wingers instead of him (no offense Federov).

I'm hard on captains as it stands, although I am not sure how many times I've said my opinion openly, but I don't think production was why AS lost his captaincy. Blais' mindset always had defense before offense as it comes to defensemen. Apart from Roche, I can't remember the last true offensive dman to come to UND. If you view production as a means for legitimate Captaincy, then Peter Armbrust and Ryan Halewere both awful Captains as well. Also sometimes being the Captain puts a new burden on your shoulders and more responsibility. At least that's what I've been told. Only rare individuals can perform all the duties as Captain and have it not affect your game at all.

No. Because inevitably the Stupids would end up on the ice.

I think forecheck's chant is the best! Sioux fans in the stands if you're with us clap your hands!

This rumor has been floating around for quite a long time through various different sources named and unnamed. It's somewhat based in fact, being as Toews stayed at Shattuck instead of reporting to Tri City (the WHL team who owns his rights), but as for the intent of his staying in Fairbault remains to be seen. I don't know what will happen, but I am curious to know how many high first round Major Junior draftees decided to go the college route. I have heard of quite a few lower round draftees, but never 1st or 2nd rounders.

Hard to know about Stafford, but Greene's playing style is really made for last year's NCAA and pro level. It's not made for the new rules. I say he's counting the days to signing. You can quote me on this: NO WAY will he be here next year. As for Chorney, he'll be here when he graduates high school... so if that is in the Fall, then he'll be here.

WTF?!?! I totally blanked out #15! Gah!

If UAH deserves a vote, then I think Alaska deserves a vote as well. Yeah, UAH's record may be better, but UAH would be worse than Tech if they were in the WCHA.

Where do you read that? Where do you hear that? Do you need your hearing and eyes checked? I think the overwhelming sides in this beaten-to-death argument is: For fighting: It eliminated the cheap play because no one wants to pay the price for their goon-ness. Against Fighting: It goons up play and furthers the stereotype that know-nothings use to describe hockey as simply boxing on ice. The point is, this thread is dumb and regardless of stance, I wouldn't cry if it simply went away, was locked, or everyone stopped posting to it.

No, I'm not, but I think that Gretzky still could have had Wheeler plus maybe a 2nd and 3rd round draft pick in addition to their preexisting draft picks if they went for Wheeler when he was slated to be taken, in the late part of the round. Plus, if they did that, they'd have to pay him less money at signing because he wasn't top 5. If I recall correctly, Phoenix is one of those teams that are strapped for cash. I'm not a GM, but I think I'm not the only one who thinks that Wheeler was the luckiest player in the draft.
