How did Bowenkamp do? I don't really like him personally. I don't think he has an arm or vision to be a quarterback who can make big plays. I always remember him only being able to make the deep 8 yard pass when not throwing a screen. I'm sorry, Bowenkamp fans, but I think UND could really use a QB who can utilize a deep threat.

Perhaps but we can't be too sure. Remember Northeastern's first regular season non conference win was Michigan... if they can beat a surefire Frozen Four team, they could give us trouble.

Dagies, this was a poorly played game up until really the 3rd period. We dominated the entire period in which we actually won the period 2-1. Unfortunately that 1 goal was an empty netter. 5-3 was the score. Schneider is the real deal for BC and may actually bench Matti for his senior year. Not good for Matti. In any case, if you tune into ESPN News, they show highlights of the game in a very typical ESPN fashion. They show 2 BC goals (the first goal by Bertram and Shannon's goal on the 5x3). However, they do show that fabulous JPar save on Spina in passing.

I'm so happy I went and played a computer game instead of listening to the game. With my negative attitude away from the game, we scored 3! From the sounds of it, we had a really good 3rd period. UMD lost, UW and UM won, BC won. That means BC takes #1 slot, UMD falls to #2, we will fall behind UW but it's not that bad. MAYBE we can get something going now that we got 5 periods of our arses getting kicked out of the way. Maybe I'll just flat out not listen to the game tommorrow night and we'll win for sure! Dan Bertram is really good. Nice to hear that Porter got 2! I like Porter! They had Porter on preshow talking about why he wasn't producing. He scores 2. Tommorrow, open the show with Stafford and maybe he'll score 2!

The powerplay suckage is so intense that even being up 2 players doesn't matter. If we can't get anything going 2 men up, then how are we going to even get a SINGLE goal?

Ok, another 5x3. Can anyone say 4-0? Now we're playing just to not get shut out two straight games. As far as I can tell, and yes, I have a bad attitude right now, but this game is lost.

I can be pessimistic. We're down 2 and we're not doing anything on the powerplay. Not only that, but the best chances when on special teams has been on the ice was BC's PK unit. Now we're down 5x3. I'm not sure we'll escape this.

We've got nothing. I wonder if, down the line we'll even be ranked. BC has more shots on the penalty kill than we do on the powerplay. It's amazing to me that 4 players can outplay 5.

Sluggish play. I know I don't know what I'm talkign about, but there isn't room for indecision. You've gotta make something happen NOW. Wait like Fuher did and Bertram will get a hat trick. Balls to the wall boys.

Very interesting article. My opinion (as I have stated many times before this) has been that Vanek wasn't necessarily lazy. He just cherry picks whenever he can and has no defensive skills whatsoever. The fact that he's being labeled as lazy by the AHL team he's on just means that he's being greeted to pro hockey's rule of: Just because you are a high draft pick, doesn't mean you are G-d's gift to hockey. If Vanek needs a shoulder to cry on, he could go over to Syracuse Crunch goaltender Pascal Leclaire and whine about how they aren't geting playing time.

Rutgers, the first thing you learn as a hockey fan is this: Never be excited about anything ESPN does for hockey until you actually see it with your own eyes. ESPN is devoted to basketball, NASCAR, and nonspots (Poker, Dream Job, I'll Do Anything, etc.). Did I mention basketball? If ESPNU follows DI hockey, I'll be happy. If they don't, I won't be surprised.

Aparently there is a brain under all that hair. Rant: Ok, it's not like either side is wrong, but just who is the ultimate loser sitting at the table? If teams start folding, the owners just take a loss of investment and move on with their lives. If the NHL folds, the players just move on with ANOTHER CAREER. Sure, some of them (the older ones) have enough money so that they could feasibly retire and never work again, so let them. The NHL doesn't need the old players when they have young and exciting ones to watch like Ilya Kovalchuk, Rick Nash, and a few others. I really think it is the Union who is killing the NHL. They need to swallow their pride and come back to work. Or the owners need to say "F&*^ YOU!" and hire scabs. The reality is this: Players come and go, but once a team is gone, it's gone barring some miracle. End Rant

Why not go? hockey is hockey. In these days where there is no NHL, I'd go even if I didn't like either team. By the by, we will soon enough be playing UW and a scouting report could be a nice thing for us fans
