Same. I've never been a Wild fan. I just think that it's the only chance for a while to see an NHL game. The Wild are pathetic to me. The Panthers are worse. I recall them signing Goren and then letting him rot his contract away in the AHL because they prefer to have guys in the NHL whose names are hard to pronounce. (OK, the words they used is "Europeans'). Oh well. The Wild will never amount to anything if they don't get scoring. The Panthers, on the other hand, will never amount to anything period.

It would have to be. When water costs $3 for a bottle of water that can cost as little as 69 cents at a gas station, the profit on everything else based on that markup would be much higher than $7,000 EDIT: And yes, I know that buying in bulk at cost would not bring the bottles of water to 69 cents each. There is a mark up in that price too. So just imagine what cost is for the REA on everything.

I'm going. I got pretty good seats. 101 Row B. If it weren't preseason, I'd know what to expect: Dull defensive hockey game. Minnesota would win because, between the two teams, Gaborik is the only goal scorer. Being that it is preseason hockey and the rosters are all weird, I don't know what I'm going to see. After all, the Wild beat the Coyotes 7-0. I don't remember the last time the Wild scored over 4 goals in a victory. It's gonna be interesting.

The article refers to a leveling of Alexandre Daigle. Could it be him in the picture? A great article. A good read. I wonder that myself: What's more meaningful: First pair AHL defenseman or platooning D at the NHL level? I understand the playing time aspect of it but is that the only aspect of consideration when making that decision?

Not sure if the new CBA addresses roster size, but according to the CBA signed in 1995/1996, the regular season roster size will be no larger than 24 players at any given time. It does provide for future expansion teams stating that the league holds the right, should expansion be approved, to decrease roster size to 23 (I am finding evidence that it is indeed 23). Here is the link to this story. However, there is talk about lowering the NHL roster size down to 17 (15 skaters and 2 goaltenders) according to this site. (Most of the way down the page)

Me thinks it is one of these! (This picture is, in many ways, disturbing really.)

Exactly. I can't name one song on that Casey Kasem's Top 10 that doesn't suck. 2000 was a bad year for music. X Men and Gladiator being the best films... movies were only marginally better.

An interesting thought. And yes, it should be INCH's Top 5 classes (after Michigan)

The AD seems to be quite a character. Good win for the Sioux.

I thought running into the kicker produced a 1st down?

I read somewhere (Heisenberg's blog site?) that Mario is still weighing his options, but he is leaning towards UND because, reportedly, Pierre-Paul (I think that's his name) has not been treated as well as they'd have liked. Rumor, sure. I really don't know what will happen, but the jerking around of Red Deer certainly does seem to send a message.

Well, people tend to get defensive around the NDSU/UND thing. The fact is, whether or not you agree with it, NDSU had its reason to go DI-AA and UND had its reasons not to. It doesn't make any school any less of a school. They are just no longer in the same division. NDSU does have a good football program. I'm not sure whether they are better known for football or basketball, but it is safe to say that NDSU is not known for its hockey. UND is known for its hockey and competes at the DI level in that sport. As I see it, both schools now compete at the DI level in the sport they are best known for. What happens from here on out, remains to be seen. I personally, want to see NDSU play UND in football, but I don't know, outside of ticket sales, how much it would benefit either school since theoretically we are no longer playing on an even field.

Ugh PCM, too much logic in that last post.

I agree. I always thought all those students yelling "SCOOOORIIINGGG" or "SIOOOOOUUUUXXXX!!" with Hennan's "outlandish" announcing really got into the way of things like atmosphere and noise control. Oh wait.

It's amazing that such a few incidents represent the majority of an issue. You know what? When I was a freshman at UND, someone told me not to "Jew" him. What does that mean? Oh, I guess that means that the Christians at UND are now producing a "hostile and abusive" atmosphere at UND and should, henceforth, be kicked out? That does seem ludicrous doesn't it? One or two, three or even ten idiots doesn't represent 13,000+ students, faculty, and staff. Last time I checked, 100 people wasn't even 10% of the total population so how could 15 be a "Huge Problem'? The gist is this: Just because a few idiots called a Native American student a "prairie nigger" doesn't mean 12,999 students agree with that idiot. The idiot should be dealt with and the problem resolved. The actions of the few NEVER EVER EVER represents the beliefs of the majority.

I think the band problem has more to do with practice and repertoire than anything else. Right now the band has to work on their Pride of the North Football repertoire first and foremost and the hockey stuff second. That's alright for Football, but I've maintained that the Pride of the North should be its own entity and leave the Hockey and Basketball bands to a seperate crew. That way practice can be held more regularly and without regard to the football schedule, those players won't have to worry about conserving "chops" for the night hockey game after a long football game, and they can focus on getting decent material seperate from the usual crap the football band plays (Soak up the Sun? Wha?). But... who knows. I still can't wait to hear about all the noise complaints by the people formerly complaining about the students.

First of all, I disagree. Second of all, why would the UMD PA Announcer say "HEre is your University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux SCORING!!" ? It IS nice though that he does that whenever we're in town.

This makes sense to me.
