Gosh I sound like a defeatist, but with the 3-2 vote, I'm betting that the NCAA cites that specifically in rejection of the appeal. On an even dumber note (is dumber a word?), I wouldn't be surprised if they make an exemption that is temporary just for UND, stating that the decree would go into effect 1 day after the regional at the Ralph. I know, I come up with odd things, but hey, if they can come up with the ruling to begin with, would it surprise any of you if they draft something crappy like I suggested up?

Actually, if you are looking at University ofs. Michigan is a good one, but the top is University of Pennsylvania. After all, it's the only University of that can call themselves part of the Ivy League. The only point where I could be wrong is if this University isn't public. ANother point to consider is that most large universities have their strengths. Liberal Arts is a strength, sure, and the easiest the media can judge, but the specialties are what really matters. UND's known for its aviation, hockey athletics, and rural medicine education (med school). We do have good business, law, and engineering schools. Michigan is the only school you list with an aerospace program, and that's only engineering, not pilot training.

And I thought the court battle would pit UND vs. NCAA not vs. the Tribes.

THough one would think that's a good sign, I think that's all that needed to happen. The NCAA diversity committee's hyper sensitivity, plus the media coverage could very well have the affect those people wanted. Other than the one tribal leader, I do not think there was any coverage of any others who opposed the Seminole nickname.

I've met Coach Lennon and I can tell you right now he is one class act. Being 5'7 (that's me, not Lennon) on a good day, he's also so damn tall it's intimidating! An incredible coach and an even more incredible man. That being said, I have never caught either the Lennon Show or the Bohl Show.

Though I understand the viewpoints about the WJC, I still think Drew would make a good captain. He may not have worn a letter, but he lead the team in points. He played hard on both ends of the ice and did everything a leader should. With a young crew, you need someone like that in charge. That's why Drew should get the 'C' C: Stafford A: Porter, Fabian, Smaby Parise is a wildcard. He would be a decent candidate for an 'A' too.

Why are you so concerned with GK? Isn't 'Kracker' a derogatory term to begin with? To me, it's like logging on with the name "Chocolate N-Word" and expecting people to listen to me. An interesting thing I took from that article was Pendregast's attitude on Greene's chances. I interpretted it to be, "He's NHL ready now, but if we have to choose between platooning him and starting him in Des Moines, he's off to Des Moines." And he also said something about the AHL timetable if that were to happen to be about a month. Do you think any of this hype could raise Greene's stress levels at all? I am told that hype can have adverse effects on performance.
