I thought Woog called a great series. Funny at times, great all the time. Frank helped my buddy make a funny though. He complained about his backside hurting because of all the standing and sitting. I was confused a moment, but my buddy spoke up and said "Well, the pain goes away if you just shut the F*** up!" Really, if I had been more on top of things, I'd probably make a similar remark but more like "I didn't know you sat on your mouth, Frank"

I'm still not sure if MSUM makes the NCAAs.

He posts hate-ful stuff on GPL? Anti-Sioux or Anti-Gopher? I'm sure Anti-Sioux. Gopherguy33- Much obliged. I think Kangas shouldn't have to pay for a meal for the rest of the season. He's saved your guys' collective lunches almost every 2 minutes or so. Too bad for Bachman or he'd surely be the WCHA ROTY. He's certainly the Gopher MVP.

sagard- You should know that the coaches can't complain about it. If they do, they are fined. The Front office has made it so that the only time that officials can be criticized is at the coaches meeting during the offseason. There is usually far more important issues to take care of than the poor performance of an official in ONE game. Sure, if an official has a consistently bad year (like Schmidt) it might get a mention, but one blip isn't going to get things changed. Besides, imagine if Lucia came to the meetings and said "I think something should be done about SHepherd. In the March 16th game, he did [this] and [that]." Uh... that'd be whining. So I can't imagine the coaches making much noise at all about officiating. So Bruce and Daddy Shep come forward and say "We're awesome in officiating" when in fact, they are flipping jokes.
-
For the record, I didn't much care either way with the exception of CFB. Call the checking from behind penalties any time they occur OT or otherwise. Let them play otherwise. Even Woog was wondering when Shep was going to get control of the clutching and grabbing.
-
Uh, that's because Kangas knows that he's the only person whose play is keeping the Gophers in contention. He flips out, Gophers lose. It's that simple. Maybe that's egotistical, but I've seen nothing from the Gophers to suggest that Kangas ISN'T the reason why they are heading to St. Paul and the NCAA tourney.

All the best to Pohl. I agree with mikey. This should not have happened. I hope he makes a full recovery. It was emotional to see Robbie Bina skate onto the ice after returning to play. I can imagine it will be similar for Pohl when he skates on the ice when he returns. Yes, I know it is up in the air, but I'm an optimist! Go get 'em Pohl!

I didn't catch all three, but the last two Kalinski ones were not. I think the Tony Lucia quote is interesting because he would not have had a chance to score the goal or stand up for Kangas in the second OT if Shep had been a decent official. This series featured OTs that had 3 uncalled CFB majors. 2 on the Gophers (Peltier in Game 1, Lucia in Game 3) and one on MSUM (I don't know who, but he checked Kaufmann from behind in Game 3). hoop- Interesting thought... but the Mavs and the Gophers have been ones to intentionally run the goaltender. I'm sure Sioux players have run the goaltender in the past, but not even at half the rate of the Mavs. Yeah, sounds like a "halo" statement, but goaltender interference is a BIG deal to me. I can't believe the amount of goaltender interference and the number of dangerous hits the goaltenders have taken in recent years that have gone unanswered. However, Hab-It is correct. Someone has to step up. Goonish as it may seem, I recall a player (I can't remember which team it was...either MSUM or MTU because I'm pretty sure they had blue jerseys) who slapped Goehring on top of the mask at the Old Ralph. Mike Commodore skated half way across the ice and absolutely crushed the guy. It sends the message "You touch the goalie, I let you visit the training room." It's amazing. After that act by Commodore, NO ONE and I mean NO ONE touched Goehring.

Most of it happened off the camera, but Kerr basically slid on his stomach from blue line to center line and laid there. Then Anderson called him. Probably said something or did something.
-
Kerr takes a 10 minute misconduct?!?! WOW! Anderson has cahones to actually recognize that rule.
-
YAY TIED! Keep going Mavs!
-
Hey now... let's not get too carried away.

I have a bad feeling about Mankato... I think the OT game really took the life out of them. They've got nothing in the tank. Too bad. Oh well. UND played better the 2nd period. Kozek and Finley need to focus on the puck before passing the puck. Now, in the 3rd period, let's play super hockey and stop skating when the clock reads all zeros.
-
BSU is going to lose because their gift 5 on 3 failed to convert. They even failed to take more than 2 SOG. One good attempt (good save) and that's it. UTTERLY PATHETIC. Got lucky on the goal review. Seriously, you don't win championships if you can't convert on 1.5 minutes of 5 on 3.

We've been at odds a lot this season, yzerman19, but this is the first post where I can 100% totally agree with you. I also notice the flexibility of Marto. Imagine in a year or so: Marto AND Genoway. Both able to play forward or d. I like Genoway better than Marto, but if Marto is truly as fast as the skills competition shows, then whatever it takes! Hmmm a speed line next season of Frattin, Watkins, and Marto? Maybe Frattin, Watkins, and Miller at Forward and Genoway and Marto on D. VERY FAST if that's the case.
-
I like what you're saying but I'll change one thing: LaPoint in and Marto out. Marto did great in Game 1 and was a nonfactor in Game 2. LaPoint was alright in Game 1 and SOLID Game 2. Go with who's hot.

So, going into this series it was talked about how losing a game might help the Sioux in the PWR. Well, guess not. I hope Ferris knocks off Miami and we win tomorrow. That would probably put us back at #1.... right? Maybe a math dork or a PWR guru can help me out here.

Ok, so I'm bored. Here's that list of NTDP invitees who have already committed to DI schools Goaltenders Mac Carruth - Chicago Fury (U18) -- UMD Defensemen Michael Gunn - Compuware (U16)

Yup. The valuable lesson here: The game is over when the buzzer sounds and 0's are on the clock. When you have a power play to end the game, you play to score. Let the opposing coach complain about running up the score. Our job is to win the game, not be sensitive to the feelings of the opposition. So, yeah.
-
Over. 3-2 MTU. Yup. That was a great wake up call for the Sioux. See what happens when you play like crap? YUP. See you tomorrow.
-
VV goes for hooking. And it was hooking. Greg Shepherd is going to have to talk to THul. Everyone in the WCHA knows that we play "Everything's legal" OT in this league.
-
Yeah. Believe it or not, I think Thul is a good ref. He's done a good job. A few missed calls, but really harmless missed ones imo. Daddy Shep is going to have to sit down and talk with him to correct this.
-
In case anyone was wondering what happens when your PP unit utterly loses focus... We're going to OT. MEg reduced to tears. I'm happy for her because I'm not happy with the Sioux.

I think Diggler's the jealous type though... Inquiring minds will have to wait and see.
