    The logo didn't cost 50K, for the last time. The entire package did and they haven't released it yet. IIRC, the other bids were very similar or higher, right?

    Cause MSU has the market cornered on cool nicknames. "Bobcats" is riveting and definitely inspiring. Doesn't get more original than "Go Cats".

    No, they are right. UND only needed to keep the "ND" and call ourselves Hawks. That would have really 'wowed' the masses and this thread would be dead.

    Apparently you are pretty dense because I was responding to the notion that UND only had to keep the old ND and NOT roll out a new logo. So it would be New "Hawks" - Old Logo. Which is stupid. Now if you read back a bit I state they certainly could/should have kept the ND logo for a secondary look.

    Right. Logos and names that have been around for, well...ever. UND chose a NEW nickname, if you would read what I wrote. The company isn't going to suggest to keep an old completely unrelated logo for a new nickname/marketing campaign. How hard is this to understand?

    Very similar to what I stated. Money not even an objective of the legacy collection. For some reason I have a feeling the "ND" makes a comeback sometime down the road.

    What do they make, a thousand bucks or so? They sold so little that the money had very, very little to do with it.

    The point I tried to make earlier was that UND probably could have kept the "ND", yes. But, it wasn't going to be the primary logo or used predominantly anytime soon anyway. There isn't a marketing firm in the world that would base their entire presentation for a NEW nickname around an old logo that has NOTHING to do with that new nickname.

    My how attitudes change. 4-5 years ago it was "I hope the university is ready to sell ZERO merchandise now that the Sioux logo is gone".

    From Rob Port: Speaking of research, Neset said Bresciani’s lack of “teamwork and collaboration” with UND on research initiatives was a third area of concern. “By working together we lift both institutions to a higher level. We are not in competition with one another. We are on the same team,” Neset said. “There have been instances cited where there was not a sense of unity and collaboration to the point where NDSU was not working with UND to elevate North Dakota.” When asked for specifics Neset said she would “defer to the research personnel at UND for that” but added that there “were instances cited by them” and “times that NDSU research department was not working in lockstep with UND on issues that should have been collaborative.” It's UND's fault.
