Unfortunately there isn't time to develop QB's on the field. They need to develop as backups and get themselves ready to go, like most every other winning program. So if the guy you have isn't ready go get one who is

Trust me if I had heard of a better candidate I would be all for him. But we have not. Roehl didn’t apply. Caruso didn’t apply. Saban didn’t apply. I choosing to back reality only.

How could he not be based on resume and experience level? Roehl has coached one year at a place not called NDSU. Schmidt has DC and ST coordinator experience at the FBS and P5 level. And won. Roehl has coached RB for 1 year. at this point in time it really isn’t an argument on paper.
