  1. It was a sorry excuse for a mascot and was rightfully ridiculed and made fun of by our own fanbase and other schools as well. Didn't someone finally steal it and burn it?
  2. The guy pushing it for the Letterwinner's club wasn't a fan of mine. I said it was a horrible idea and looked terrible and would be an embarrassment. Fortunately most agreed with me. Our relationship grew that summer when he thought I was messing around with his girlfriend.(I wasn't)
  3. This whole premise of Carson Wentz addressing this subject is idiotic. Philly fans are and have always been jackbags. It is a badge of honor for them. The Vikings got their butts kicked. Get over it. Where are the stories of the Falcons fans receiving this abusive treatment? Plenty of d-bags in every NFL stadium. I have seen it in Minneapolis and Denver firsthand. Went to a Monday night game against the Bears at the old Metrodome(nothing like adding an extra 7 hours of drinking for people who already can't handle their booze). Saw people staggering drunk, passed out in their seats, falling down stairs, puking on themselves, in bathroom sinks, on bathroom floors, on the stadium stairs, on the concourse floor and about a dozen fights as Viking fans wanted to fight anyone who they perceived to be a Bears fan....Went to a Bronco/Viking game at old Mile High on a day where it was snowing heavily and the perfect temp to make snow and ice balls. Saw several people wearing Viking gear have to receive medical attention and or go to hospital. In hindsight, if you were wearing purple that day it wasn't a good idea to return from the concession stand with your hands full as it leaves your face and head wide open for a 65-70 mph ice ball to the face as you make your way up the stairs. I see some Viking fans are planning revenge on the Eagle fans coming to town. Most of the infamous Eagle fans you have seen all week on You Tube are not going to be making the trip to Minneapolis as most couldn't afford a bus ticket to Cleveland, let alone a super bowl ticket and plane fare. In addition most of them probably have to check in with their probation officers and/or aren't allowed to leave Philly.
  4. I was on student senate and helped lead the effort to stop this travesty from happening Unfortunately they found funding elsewhere for this embarrassment.
  5. Obviously winning takes care of everything. 10 regular season games 2-3 playoff games 2 conference tournament games 9 wins would be a lock I think. 8 wins would be fairly safe win 7 of 13(not make St. Paul) and it could get interesting. If you look at teams behind us, most will have problems flipping comparisons against us while we could flip a couple of those in front of us. #12 North Dakota — comparisons won: 48 Legend for comparisons: Wins the comparison Loses the comparison Ties the comparison No comparison Common Opponents PWR Team PWC RPI Sum of Win% Record Head to Head 1t Notre Dame 0-2 .5435* — .6049* 2.250 — 2.500 4-3-1 — 6-3-1 0-0-0 1t Cornell 1-1 .5435* — .5977* 1.750 — 1.500 3-0-1 — 2-1-0 0-0-0 3 St. Cloud State 0-3 .5435* — .5941 3.000 — 4.000 6-6-0 — 8-4-0 0-1-1 4t Clarkson 0-1 .5435* — .5864* 2.750 — 2.750 5-2-1 — 5-2-1 0-0-0 4t Denver 1-3 .5435* — .5797 3.000 — 4.000 5-5-2 — 7-3-2 1-1-0 6 Minnesota State 0-2 .5435* — .5726* 1.750 — 3.000 2-3-3 — 6-2-0 0-0-0 7 Ohio State 0-2 .5435* — .5704 1.250 — 1.500 2-1-1 — 3-1-0 0-0-0 8 Western Michigan 2-2 .5435* — .5479 2.500 — 4.000 4-6-2 — 8-4-0 2-0-0 9t Minnesota 1-3 .5435* — .5461 1.250 — 2.000 1-4-3 — 3-3-0 1-1-0 9t Providence 0-2 .5435* — .5454 1.750 — 2.000 3-0-1 — 3-0-0 0-0-0 11 Minnesota-Duluth 1-3 .5435* — .5451 4.750 — 3.750 8-5-3 — 6-8-1 0-2-0 12 North Dakota 13 Northeastern 1-0 .5435* — .5405 0.000 — 0.000 0-0-0 — 0-0-0 0-0-0 14 Nebraska-Omaha 3-1 .5435* — .5393 3.250 — 3.000 5-6-3 — 6-8-0 1-1-0 15 Michigan 2-0 .5435* — .5389 2.250 — 2.125 4-1-1 — 4-1-2 0-0-0 16 Penn State 1-0 .5435* — .5356 2.250 — 2.250 4-1-1 — 3-1-1 0-0-0 17t Boston College 2-0 .5435* — .5261 1.500 — 0.000 2-2-2 — 0-4-0 0-0-0 17t Harvard 1-1 .5435* — .5250 1.750 — 2.000 3-2-1 — 2-2-0 0-0-0 19 Northern Michigan 2-0 .5435* — .5249 2.000 — 1.000 3-1-2 — 1-3-2 0-0-0 20t Bowling Green 2-0 .5435* — .5245 3.250 — 2.000 5-0-3 — 3-3-2 0-0-0 20t Wisconsin 3-0 .5435* — .5212 1.500 — 1.000 3-1-0 — 2-2-0 1-0-1 22t Bemidji State 2-1 .5435* — .5188 0.750 — 1.750 1-2-1 — 3-0-1 1-0-1 22t Miami 3-0 .5435* — .5185 2.500 — 2.000 5-5-0 — 4-6-0 1-0-1 24 Boston University 1-1 .5435* — .5110 0.750 — 1.000 1-2-1 — 1-1-0 0-0-0 25 Maine 2-0 .5435* — .5105 0.750 — 0.500 1-2-1 — 1-3-0 0-0-0 26 Colorado College 3-1 .5435* — .5093 3.750 — 3.000 6-5-3 — 5-7-2 1-1-0
  6. BC is currently leading Hockey East so I slotted them with the Hockey East auto-bid

  9. 16 including UND, Minnesota, and BC....about 6-7 schools leading goal scorer is 10. Michigan Tech is 7th in the country in goals scored and doesn't have an individual with more than 9 goals...I believe this was our intended blueprint this year as well.
  10. His effort is there and the last few weeks he seems to have found his speed again...I thought he was noticeably slower at beginning of season.
  11. I am not saying some of our guys don't need to step up their games a little bit. I expected all these guys to find the net a little more. Updated with expectations I had. Gersich 22-25 goals Janatuinen 10-15 goals, 30+ points Hoff 25-30 points Poganski 15-20 goals
  12. didn't find any 25 year old Canadian freshmen?
  13. I didn't set the Blue Chip standard....grunts is probably an exaggeration to make a point. I have updated my list with players draft slots.

  15. Some mocks have him going late first, but I understand what you are saying. Mishmash went 61st. So 2017 had 2 Blue Chippers at the time they committed to college in Casey Mittelsteadt and Josh Norris and 3 others who can now be considered Blue Chip Recruits in Poehling, Oettinger, and Bowers. 2018 looks to have 5 in Tkachuk, Hughes, Wahlstrom, Farabee, and Samuelsson. I guess when I see 30-35% of NHL rosters being made up of College players I have a lower standard of what I consider a top end recruit I guess?
  16. So only players who are considered guarantee first round picks at age 15-16 are Blue Chip recruits? So essentially 4-5 players per class in hindsight and maybe 1 or 2 per class when they commit.
  17. So potential first round picks who can choose to go to any college are not blue chippers? Kids considered in the top 20-25 in their age group in the U.S. or Canada(i.e., are consistently picked for their country's world teams and elite camps) are not blue chippers? Help me out?
  18. Well, this class was considered a top 5 class and 2019 and 2020 are at or near the top of the rankings so don't think it has gone dry? 2018 might be a mixed bag with Scheel, Tychonick, and Hain all elite players and 3 over age guys in Weatherby, Keane, and Senden 2019 is looking pretty good with Donovan, Frisch, and Caulfied all being elite players and Costello and Bernard-Docker still developing and Randklev could be a huge get in that he is a 4 year guy and will bring some of same qualities as Evan Trupp with a little more scoring touch. 2020 is looking to be a ridiculous class right now with Kleven(#1 rated 2002 kid in the country) and Kunz(top 5 2002 forward in the country), Ethan Bowen is an elite prospect, Reid is considered one of Canada's top 17 year old D-men, Blaisdell is considered one of Canada's top players in his age group and Mancinelli is considered a pretty good prospect as well. Pinto is hard to gauge due to league he is in but has done well at elite camps. Blue Chippers Tychonick Frisch Donovan Kleven Kunz Bowen Borderline Blue Chippahs Hain Caulfield Blaisdell So bringing in 5 to 8 in next 3 years plus Randklev. I think most programs would roll the dice with these guys.
  19. Yep. I would take a kid who is a winner every day.
  20. Faison messed up the timing on the Jones extensions and if it had been handled correctly he would be in final year of contract now. I love Bubba, but he is going to have to own the 2018 season under any circumstances. His recruits, his coaching staff. Any issues of talent shortfall or depth issues can not be accepted as excuses but should be looked at as issues within the overall program at this point.
  21. How would Boeser, Schmaltz, Jost, T. Poolman and Wolanin look as a power play unit?
  22. Girls Fastpitch is a sport that is booming in this area and all across America. I would guess that girls who play have aspirations of playing Division 1 and in North Dakota we have 2 Division 1 programs. Of the 38 girls on the UND and NDSU rosters last season there was 1.....yep, 1 girl from ND made her way onto the NDSU roster, 0 at UND.
