He mentions Ivery because he was the most talented one.

If he had stuck around for another year or two he could have been throwing the ball to the best receiving corps in FCS with Hardin, Golloday, and Jackson....assuming we don't bring in Braden Hansen from North Carolina.
We went from running the ball and playing defense to throwing the ball all over the Alerus...the problem is most of our possessions started with running back a kick off instead of a punt.

If memory serves, Lennon just left for SIU and it was clear the new HC would be either the OC or DC. The DC went with Lennon so we got the default.

Bubba had just completed his 4th season at UMD and moved on to SIU with Dale. John Kelling and Mannausau were co d coordinators in Dale's final season.

Cade Littler to MSU Mankato. Big loss for us.

I know that Mike Hastings and Bliss Littler have a long term friendship going back to their USHL coaching days. May have played a factor as I would expect that Cade has known Hastings nearly his entire life.

The fact the Mankato offered him at 17 is interesting as well.

.I said this when they offered the Covid year. It has really screwed up the recruiting pipelines for many teams. A lot of these kids wanted to come in 2021 and were put off. That will affect a great deal of commitments. I don’t think the NCAA did us any favors. My bet is the next 2 to 3 years will be very odd indeed. You have to remember it’s just not seniors. The juniors, sophomores, and freshman, all have an additional year. Between that, and the transfer portal, what a mess!

Not to mention the kids who had committed or had offers and aged out of juniors and then had the rug pulled.

While we’re at it, let’s overturn the semi based on the clock not turning on soon enough a couple times.  *

    * I have only anecdotal evidence to support this assertion.

I am still upset about the high stick to Grimaldi's face which allowed Holl to get into position for the rebound.

Not that I would ever cheer for NDSU, but their success really wouldn't bother me as much if their fans weren't so obnoxious. No so much from a rivalry standpoint, but just an in general obnoxious level. They're not all bad, but there is definitely more bad fans following that program than anywhere else. I suppose with that level of success comes a certain level of fair-weather bandwagon fans that no nothing about the sport, but enjoy the glory. The way so many of them talk, you would think it is them out their playing.

I have said this a few times about NDSU fans. It really is just the few bad thousands that spoil it for the other 12.

You obviously didn’t watch that game. From an officiating standpoint it was a travesty. You obviously didn’t watch that game. From an officiating standpoint it was a travesty.

I did not watch the game. I am saying if a team is taking cheap penalties then I have no problem rolling the top power play unit out to score some more. I have seen our coaches do it many times. Score is out of hand and game is over and the other team gets an interference or tripping penalty then roll out the 2nd unit or the 3rd and 4th lines, they two hand a guy or run someone from behind, screw it, make them pay.

Matt Carl’s putting out some big guns on that last power play, up 3 , with less than a minute left.

not cool.  Typically classless for DU.

    I don't have a problem with it.

If it was a tripping penalty or interference penalty then I get it but UNO's last 4 penalties in this game were roughing, cross checking, cross checking(with a 10 minute misconduct) and a boarding call so load up and fire away.

The numbers spent by each of schools above may not be totally accurate but i do find it interesting the schools that were at the top of list were playing for national championship. The UND Fan above statements were very interesting and enlightening about fund raising and level of support for the schools. I do have one question and that is NDSU does go to FBS what changes will it mean for the structure of their other sports because of title 9. When they go to FBS the number of scholarships i believe will go up but how will they account for this to be in compliance with Title 9. I know not very much of fund raising but in past UND had national scope of past graduates and has that well dried up or have they lost much of that to name controversies over the last 10 to 15 years. I experienced the focus that large universities put on fund raising when one my children graduated from Iowa State from doctor programs and at graduation they had speaker durning ceremonies talk on giving to the university. Which I would say was little too pushy in my estimation but i may be behind the times. But getting back NDSU they may have money to move up and may be popular in Fargo but how does that play out to rest of the state for funding their institution and being part of the upper great plains. I am old school so i may be way out of touch but i think these are important things and higher education system needs to remember its just not city your in but whole state and region these institutions are part of.

They could add Women's Hockey to offset the additional 22 scholarships.

    2022 Olympic Winter Games | U.S. Men's Roster

    https://teamusa.usahockey.com/2022olympicmenroster

NOTE "All 25 players on the U.S. roster have played college hockey in the U.S., including 15 currently playing in the NCAA"

Hmm, a bunch of college kids playing for team USA in the Olympics?  Tring to remember how that worked out last time they did that?!!

Umm. We went 1-4-3 and finished 8th in 1994.

    Since the 1980 Miracle year...

    1984---2-2-2  7th

    1988---3-3-0   7th

    1992---5-2-1    4th

Went 2-3 and finished 7th with a team put together in similar fashion to this team in 2018.

Does he talk about all the experts here?:D

Grizzled experts I believe is the term he used. He said he was sitting in the penalty box with 6 minutes left in the semi final game against Denver while the refs were reviewing his penalty to possibly give him a 5 minute major and knew he was being destroyed on Sioux Sports and would probably have to transfer if UND lost.

Pages 10-14 are pretty dystopian. Olson didn't get buried as bad as he thought he would but if they had scored I am sure he would have.

I guess I didn’t know that. That’s sad. They didn’t need to retire that one. No reason whatsoever. That’s still a relevant logo and isn’t “offensive”. So we have no secondary logo then. Wow.

Most would say we have a secondary at best logo now.

So which is it? Should NDSU stop being a Varsity team beating up on JV teams or imagine and speculate on a successful future with a hypothetical move to FBS.

Entirely up to NDSU. Move up for a chance to play for 1st and bowl games or stay in FCS and keep playing for 131st.
