Guesses for the "would have never thought of this school".

    1. Old school SEC country, could be a bigger university from the SEC or a small university outside of the Power 4/5.

    2. Any school in Texas.

    3. Utah/BYU/Utah State or even just a random university in the Mountain West portion of the country.

    4. West Virginia

Not that I haven't thought of them, but FGCU would/could make the move. Arena in place with 3 sheets of Ice. 2 ACHA programs that have had plenty of success(d2 and d3) and they draw pretty well. No football program. Beach right on campus and the student body is 56% female.

Went back to the 80's - LONG GONE but it was a lifesaver for guys that lived in the dorms.  Stumbled down the stairs from Walsh Hall many times to get a frozen pizza or other nosh after a long night at the bars.  Only C-store on campus so it ruled.

RIP Valley Dairy!  They sold all their stores (and soul) to Petroserve of Fargo a couple years ago.  Not the same - their stores are jammed with crap and filthy.  Worked graveyards at the Stanford Road VD going through college - it was a great job and I took pride working for a princely $6.85 an hour on the night shift.  No benefits other than the occasional expiring microwave burrito at a five finger discount or roller dog that had been turning for 8 hours at the end of the night...chewy as I remember.

Lived at ATO so it was steps from our side door.

Was better known as "The Swet" since one of the e's in sweet and the h-e-a-r-t on the neon Sweetheart Bread sign that hung on the building were burned out.

    "Jesus" worked there.

It looks like Martone is our only realistic option at this point out of the first round picks. The Flyers want him to play NCAA.

Desnoyers is looking to make Utah but will either go to his junior team or BC. Maybe he doesn’t go to BC if Hagens returns as well? He models his game after Toews, maybe he’ll model his career path as well.

I have not seen anything on McQueen going to college or returning to juniors. He could be an option.

Zonnon follows a bunch of college teams on instagram, including UND, but he was traded in the QMJHL about a month ago so it looks like he’s returning and playing with Carbonneau, if he doesn’t sign with BC.

All of the other first round picks that are forwards are returning to juniors, I believe.

If UND is unable to get lucky on these remaining guys, they will have to find a uncommitted player from a previous draft class, bring in one of their committed guys early, or look to see if there are any guys that want to come in from the 2026 draft.

The price for Martone probably just went up as Sparty just cleared some payroll.....not by choice.

Well, without the Gofer win against Cornell there wouldn't have been a Frozen Four semi between the Sioux and Minny...and I'm always in for a 4-2 win against the Rodents.:D

We call that the "Tap Out" game. As the game went on when UND's forwards would dump the puck at the blue line the Gopher defensemen were basically saying "no 'mas, take it" a little ways into the 3rd period.

The one that Epic planned to build in Fargo won't happen.  Epic has much bigger problems then getting a water park built.

you might say that Epic is under water at this point.......I'll show myself out........try the veal

This to me is the legitimate complaint.

Peregrines wouldn't have been my first choice but definitely better and more unique that Fighting Hawks

  7. With 3 to 5 games to go...hopefully 5!

Here is what I came up with

    Goon-166...still has Bouchard and Draisaitl

Shawn O-173...still has McDavid, Draisaitl, Reinhardt, and Bouchard

The Sicatoka-175...still has Draisaitl and Bouchard

Stoney Sioux-185...still has McDavid, Draisaitl, Bouchard, and Forsling

Blackheart-191...still has Draisaitl, McDavid and Bouchard

Petey 23-195...still has Daaisaitl, McDavid, Reinhardt, Barkov, and Bouchard

Looks like it is down to Stoney Sioux and Myself

Forsling will need to outscore Barkov and Reinhardt by 10+ over next 3 to 5 games.

alaska oil money=the state of alaska...so probably yeah.

And I believe that if you scheduled games in Alaska you were allowed to schedule 2 additional games that did not count against NCAA limit.

Yeah, and for the longest time schools bit the costs of traveling to Alaska just to keep them viable.  In the age of NIL and big money, I don't see NCHC schools wanting to spend extra money on expensive travel for a team that could be a drain on the league in more than one way.

I might be wrong but I thought Alaska Oil Money paid travel expenses.

Is there any information out there about if Hak will get a job somewhere?  A lot of openings but I haven't seen him mentioned as a possibility.  Maybe I missed something

Well he still has a year left on his Seattle contract so he probably isn't in a hurry.

I recall that being stated here too, but also not sure if it was bicycle babble or true

I had heard that shortly after he left the Fargo Force head coaching job.

Maybe time has changed his perspective. It seems he could have been a head coaching candidate in college years ago as well.

That's the only thing giving me pause as well. I do think with how long and successful Herter has been, he is likely just a very good all-around hockey coach and can probably fit anywhere, but it still feels a little bit odd.

Also, maybe it's been brought up before, but who works with the goalies under this model? It seems kind of crazy for a program like UND to not have a goalie coach, but maybe they had to sacrifice that to use that spot for a GM. Can they still have a goalie coach that just isn't on the bench or is it 4 coaches max?

it seems like our Goalies were better before we had a goalie coach...just saying
