This is a read by the QB. It's an RPO. Why he would fake to the RB then follow him in the non-existent hole is beyond comprehension
I get that, but it rarely worked so quit calling it. I would hope they work with Kaminski to get him comfortable under center...use a fullback and/or an extra tight end and take advantage of our offensive line....was so frustrating to watch down the stretch.

Another thing. No reason Jerry should have more than 10 carries in a game. There should be some scrambles, some where he pulls to keep the defense honest, maybe a couple of designed runs. It should never get to the point where he is continuously getting beat up.
You don't think our go to play the second half of the season where Jerry would fake it to Sawyer and then follow him through a non existent hole should be a staple of our offense next season?

There’s nothing to bet on. Any team offering half a mil to a guy who played like garbage and couldn’t make half the throws a decent qb should be able to make in his sleep did not do their due diligence or isn’t competent. I don’t care what level they’re at, that doesn’t qualify them in any way. There are morons that were NFL coaches.
Maybe they looked at his positives and took into consideration just how bad of spots our terrible play calling put our offense in over and over and over again down the stretch.

What a putz…if the games close watch for Zellers to get more time in the 3rd.
At least he put that line back together....best and most consistent line against Germany in 1st game.

Exactly. I would be shocked if Verhoeff doesn't get an opportunity next game. Canada's top 6 defenders were meh at best.
I think San Jose decided not to loan Dickinson to Team Canada so hopefully Verhoeff gets officially added to the roster today and plays tonight.

was he ever called?
I know the previous A.D. reached out to Klieman to gage his interest when he was still the D.C. at NDSU

I think this is the perfect way. I don't think the majority of people want to contribute to NIL if they are not getting something back. Sioux name is not going anywhere and the university has failed to capitalize on it. They have the Legacy collection and don't hardly have anything in it. A lot of people will not buy fighting hawk merchandise no matter what.
They have let the use of the old logo go wild and I am guessing they are not being paid license fees on it since it isn't being sold at "retail". They have not enforced the use as every Tom, Dick, and Harry are selling Sioux Merch on various Facebook Pages....most of it does not have the "Dacotah" on it. A pretty stark contrast compared to the School down South.

Kleven was hurt tonight. Won't play tomorrow.
And insult to injury, Kleven's goal now awarded to Tkachuk.

I guess when I think of great kickers at UND I think of Pat Beatty, Cameron Peterka, Jeff Glass, and Juan Gomez-Taigle.
Beatty hit several FG's from over 50 yards and didn't have the benefit of kicking indoors.

Given that UND has the potential for SIX current and future players to be representing their countries this year, there should be a lot of UND fans' eyes on this tournament this year. I really wish life would have worked out where I could have taken a couple of weeks to spend in the Twin Cities to take in the action, but alas, adulting is hard.
Any concerns about any of the six NOT making the cut?

I haven't looked at the pools yet to see who got the pool of death.
Pools are pretty balanced. NHL Scouts may need Helicopters if they want to watch USA and Canadian players on the same day, or Finland and Sweden on the same day during pool play.

Unless Menghini picks it up in the 2nd half, maybe Menghini gets pushed out next year.
I’m sure he’s a great kid and teammate but at the end of the day, the change of new team didn’t pan out.
We pushed out Ashton Calder.
I disagree. He might not have the numbers at this point but he is noticeable almost every night in a good way. He has been a bit snake bitten and clanked iron 3 times in St. cloud. Got one last weekend so hopefully the spigot opens up for him.

Every player that leaves early says that years later. We should be asking, "how do we keep them for that extra year or two"? Had he stayed, I bet we beat Denver in the National Championship in 05.
He said it about two months later.

Carter Pabst...committed to UND....flipped to SDSU.....went to Washington State....now in portal....
Not sure if he is going to Iowa State with his coach. will know in January I think. Anthony Palano, another former SDSU recruit now at WSU is also in the portal.
(put this elsewhere if that is where it belongs.)
Wonder if former Minnesota Mr. Football will hit the portal. Played in 7 games at SDSU and went with the coach to WSU. Don't think he plans on following the coach to Iowa St.
He was originally an NDSU recruit but flipped to the Rabbits. New coaches at NDSU so he may end up there, but he would be a good get.

I really feel that Freuchte and Olson being forced to be on his coaching staff is untrue.
I guess it’s speculation both ways and we will never know what actually happened. I just have a really hard time believing that Schmidt didn’t have 100% say. If he met with him and it didn’t feel like a good fit, you really think Chaves said they had to stay? Very unlikely.
Schmidt probably knew that the current offensive players really like Freuchte. After meeting with him, he decided to give it a shot for a sake of continuity and thought they could work well together.
They did a good job of holding onto our recruits during the transition.

That was the weakest major call I've ever seen. Maybe he should have buried the end of his stick! It should have been 2 minute at the most.
It is automatic 5....no room for interpretation of severity.
