I was wondering how their big defenseman McEwen? didn't get more of the Tyler Kleven treatment. Big D running around hitting everything that moves and I don't believe he got called for one penalty.

Nelson times 2. 4-1
So Brock has 2 goals, 1 disallowed goal, a would be assist on the other disallowed goal and clanked iron once. Seems to be pretty dialed in.

imo going forward 1a and 1aa are donesey....they figure out scholly's numbers max min and whatnot and if your d1a or 1aa right now...it's all d1 and cfp will just do the top 16 or 24 ranked football teams regardless is your mwc pac12 ivy or meac....so....maybe fenton could
und, st thomas, usd, sdac, and omaha join the mvc.....makes 16
und/st thomas
usd/sdac
omaha/drake
bradley/northern iowa
uic/valpo
siu/illinois state
murray state/belmont
evansville/indiana state
merge the mvfc with the mvc=8 football schools (eyes on drake and st thomas moving fb from pioneer to mvc =10)
und, usd, sdac, niu, siu, isu-red, isu-blue, and murray state
mvc brings in und, st thomas and omaha as hockey members and adds affiliates of
denver, air force, arizona state, western michigan, miami, and bowling green with an opening for a current mvc school or 2 to add hockey....NIU? UIC? Belmont?
conference tourney for hockey and basketball in st louis
mvc gets 4 men's swimming and diving schools (they have 4 affiliates) (omaha, st thomas, usd, sdac)...
mvc gets 2 more men's soccer team (they have 3 affiliates)...(omaha and st thomas)
mvc gets 4 more women's swimming (they have 2 affiliates )...(omaha, st thomas, usd, sdac)
make it happen fenton

Well I know the Steele Pirates played in state in 1982; was it that far back or even more?
1983. I think Steele made state that year as well. Strasburg actually got knocked out by Linton in the Districts that year.

I think that was Luverne, ND.
When I was in High School our JV went and played at Strasburg against their varsity. The floor had a center line but then on each side they had another line which was used for over and back. You had to get across the center line in 10 seconds but then you could go back to the other line so you had room to run your offense. The free throw arch cut through the center circle. They were not used when we played but they had lines on the wall of one side that were about 3 feet high....apparently they used to be the out of bounds lines, so if the ball hit below the line it was still in play.
Most if not all of the fans were in a balcony overlooking the floor(they might have had 2-3 rows of bleachers on one side). I think they were ranked in the top 10 that year(Lost to Steele-Dawson to get to state i think) and their fans did not care that it was the Bismarck JV(it was Bismarck High as far as they were concerned). It didn't help that the guys on our team put on a dunk show in warmups and I don't think they had anyone who could dunk. They had 2-3 really good players who I knew from Basketball Camps and some "farmstrong" kids who were pretty physical. game was back and forth and we definitely did not get a favorable whistle as I think we had 4 guys foul out and we shot 6 or 8 free throws compared to their 35-40. At the end of the game, we did get a gift call which the crowd went crazy over and we snuck out with a 2 or 4 point win. Pretty crazy atmosphere and after the game as guys were getting ready to shower our coach came in and said, skip the showers, grab your !@#$ and lets get going. They had a few fans who let us know what they thought of us on the way to the bus.

Dont' remember Moe's. When was that place in business?
I think it closed 3-4 years ago.

Not necessarily...Chipotle starting out was the winner hands down. The quality of the food has really gone downhill the past 10 years IMHO; the places are always messy, and their prices have gone way up. (Twin Cities metro)
Moe's was better than both until the owners let the place go to sh!t.

I really dislike posts like this for a couple of reasons. First, these kids and their families read these message boards. Second, and more importantly, you have no idea because his scoring may be based upon team philosophy, the players around him, whether he plays top 6 and specialty teams, etc.
Chris Vandevelde played 2 years in the USHL. His first season he scored 5 points in 7 games. His second year, he scored 36 points in 56 games. After a slow freshman year adapting to college, Chris put up 32 points his sophomore year, 35 points his junior year, and 41 points his senior year. He was also an assistant captain and one of the best young men I have ever met to play at UND.
How do you know Pilgrim will not be Chris Vandevelde? How about trusting the coaching staff rather than cherry picking stats?
Pilgrim leads his team in scoring and has missed a 1/4 of the season. It really comes down to what skills transfer from Juniors to college. Some guys find the skills that separated them in Juniors no longer happens in college(Cichy) and some guys just keep doing what they do. Would not surprise me in Pilgrim puts up .75-1.0 a game from his Sophomore to Senior seasons at UND.

I disagree. He might not have the numbers at this point but he is noticeable almost every night in a good way. He has been a bit snake bitten and clanked iron 3 times in St. cloud. Got one last weekend so hopefully the spigot opens up for him.
Unless Menghini picks it up in the 2nd half, maybe Menghini gets pushed out next year.
I’m sure he’s a great kid and teammate but at the end of the day, the change of new team didn’t pan out.
We pushed out Ashton Calder.

He took unofficial visits to UND and NDSU last year, but I think at this point he has division II offers. I could see him maybe going the NSIC route for a year or two, and then transferring to a division I program if he can put up big numbers.
Yeah, he could obviously play for his dad at Bemidji State or for his uncle Jeff at Pittsburgh State.

I am not discounting him and saying he’s not D1 but I think we are pretty full on that body type.
It's been awhile since we had a pure shooter.
10 hours ago, MoSiouxFan said:Who does he play for?
Bemidji High School. Think he also plays AAU with Howard Pulley. His dad is former UND player and current Bemidji State Basketball Coach Mike Boschee.

Is Mike Boschee's kid Jaxon a D1 prospect? is he on our radar.
6-3 170
Averaging around 28 a game and 94% from the line and 45% from 3. Dropped 46, including the game winner on the Spuds last night.

Sounds like the Antique or the Spud in the 80's. We almost had an all out brawl between guys from the football and hockey teams one night at the Antique. Fortunately if blew over.
When I was in school in the mid/late eighties The football team and the hockey team did get into a pretty decent fight at The Bridge. Quite a few football players with jean jackets pulled over their heads catching lefts and rights. Ian Kidd absolutely rinsed one guy. Our house had a couple scuffles with the football team as well. I know for awhile Behrns and Gino basically banned their players from going to the East Side.

Never should have started that young goalie when you had a hot goalie already.
Who was this hot goalie you are referring to?

This is a read by the QB. It's an RPO. Why he would fake to the RB then follow him in the non-existent hole is beyond comprehension
I get that, but it rarely worked so quit calling it. I would hope they work with Kaminski to get him comfortable under center...use a fullback and/or an extra tight end and take advantage of our offensive line....was so frustrating to watch down the stretch.

Another thing. No reason Jerry should have more than 10 carries in a game. There should be some scrambles, some where he pulls to keep the defense honest, maybe a couple of designed runs. It should never get to the point where he is continuously getting beat up.
You don't think our go to play the second half of the season where Jerry would fake it to Sawyer and then follow him through a non existent hole should be a staple of our offense next season?

He got away with holding 10-12 seconds earlier because the refs did not want to be involved in the game and then he did it again going the other way. Not the brightest play for sure.
