I’m confused, we’re playing for the highest seed possible or playing for matchups now?
With the only shot of getting in by winning the conference tournaments and since we are traveling anyway I would much rather travel to Omaha and play on a regulation sized sheet instead of the Olympic ice at the Herb. Last week of season could be interesting with potential back to back matchups sinc UMD finishes regular season at SCSU and could very well return their the following weekend and UND hosts UNO with a vry possible the following weekend in Omaha.

And people are upset about a penalty being called?
Just the FB people I believe. That is a college hockey CFB major. In the NHL/AHL the ref just looks at the guy who turns into a hit he knows is coming and calls him a dumbass.

I feel UND fans should be a refund for NCHC, considering two of the past three games have not been available.
Do you?
After this weekend, 27 of 33 games(counting exhibition games) have been on NCHC TV. 2 games on Bally's(road games at Minnesota) and now 3 of our games on CBS Sports Network and 1 game was at Bemidji with no TV.

YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT JAKE SANDERSON! You're turning the story to try and make you look less silly.
Not too mention that the value of a college degree, other than very specific fields of study(accounting, med school, law school, engineering, etc.), is decreasing by the day.

I was talking about the penalty on Friday night.
As far as Saturday night it was a penalty in my opinion. The only question I had was how as it called? Was it a linesman informing a ref or was it a challenge from the Denver bench? Have not heard which if either of these things led to the penalty call because both referees obviously missed it.

The amount of Sioux fans who did not think that was a penalty amazes me.
I think most fans who watched the game and the replay knew it was a penalty on Hain...the issue is it was the 3rd penalty of the game and the first two were let go.

You hit the nail right on the head. Johnson has a total of 36 career games which is equivalent to one Freshman season. He was never giving a long enough leash to make mistakes and show the coaching staff what is capable of doing. He was good in the first half. He did have a couple hiccups but his game was growing as his confidence grew. The coaching staff pulled the rug right out from underneath him in favor of guys with over 125 games yet were still making the same mistakes he was making. It would be funny if Johnson lands at another NCHC rival school and finishes the last two years as one of the best defenseman in the conference. We could call him Johnny T, 2.0.
How does he perform in practice? Ice time is earned in practice and additional ice team is earned in games.

Don't have to imagine.
Nebraska football fired Bo Pelini (67-27, 0.723). He was 9-3 his last season.True. But he was also a prick to staff, alumni, and media.

I would argue that the reason we aren't successful is because we seem to be a little softer than we used to be. When we keep talking "no swagger" on the years we are down, there is a problem in the guys we are recruiting. We would always have some skill guys and a complement of players that just had an edge and would go through a brick wall for the team. Everyone would always say that we would be the hardest working team and were just plain hard to play against. When I look at our roster, there aren't that many players I look at and think their distinguishing characteristic is being tough to play against. Some of the defensive lapses are due to being mentally lazy, and some from being physically lazy, and those aren't thing usually associated with UND hockey. Need to find a way to right the ship and truly be a team of "culture"!
Pattyn, Prpich, Hextall, Mario, C. Genoway, Radke, Kaip, D. Zajac, Gaarder, Gardner. Guys other teams hated to play against. They all had enough skill to keep you honest, chirped and agitated a bit and got guys off their game. We have not had that type of player in awhile.

For the record most thought Kleven coming back was a big deal and turned out to be the opposite.
How so? Penalty issues aside he was been far and away UND's best player this season.

Assuming everyone is healthy I think the next 6 games should involve these players in the lineup and then evaluate which players have held their spots for the playoff series.
F-Blake, Gaber, Strinden, James, Schmaltz, Constantini, Jamernik, Kunz, Ness, Albrecht, Portz, McLaughlin, Caufield
D-Frisch, Jandric, Kleven, Sidorski, Bast, Moore
G-Split between DeRidder and Hellsten

HOW DID HAIN GET A 5 AND THEY DIDN'T
Can someone who watched the game help me out. I heard this skirmish on the radio on my way to a friends surprise birthday party and finally saw the replay today, but just the action, not what followed. Hennessey was obviously describing the action that started with Caponi's cheap shots.
So the refs went into the video review to determine whether Caponi should get a major for head contact. Did Denver ask for a review of a possible missed major on Hain or had a linesman see it and brought it to refs attention because they obviously did not call a penalty on Hain during live action as UND had control of the puck and play continued. Because if neither of these things happened I am pretty sure the rulebook does not allow you to find a penalty that you had missed while looking at a play that happened 10 seconds later unless either the linesman had brought it to your attention or Denver bench had asked for a review for a possible major as they can't review for a possible minor penalty they missed

Could you switch UNO and SCSU around please?
all at 33 points
UNO--@Miami, SCSU, @UND
SCSU--@UND, @UNO, UMD
WMU--CC, DU, @Miami
Schedule favors WMU. I see 3 splits for SCSU the way they are currently playing.

I’m guessing that we will pass UMD and CC in the standings before the end. They have tougher remaining schedules and hopefully UND can claw out some points this weekend.
We won’t get enough points for home ice though. My guess is we’ll be 5th seed traveling to #4 for the first round.Looking at schedule i think it shakes out this way
1. Denver
2. WMU
3. UNO
4. SCSU
5. UND
5. UMD
7. CC
8. Miami

I watched the Kleven video: really? That's five and the gate these days?
Frattin would've been sent to Supermax for what he did
Watched it several times and slowed it down. That is a coin flip 2 minute penalty for charging at most.

We simply can’t take a penalty 13 seconds in. Even worse, a senior member of the team.
And I was actually excited when I heard the whistle 13 seconds into the game as I figured they were calling interference on Justin Lee who blasted Albrecht after he had dumped the puck and put a little extra into it or on an elbowing/interference penalty on Webster who hit Albrecht as he recovered from the Lee hit. Watching it live I was even thinking it looked like the elbow might have been to the head(replay showed it should have just been a 2 minute interference or elbowing penalty) and we would get a 5 minute power play to start the game. Then I saw the replay and was like !@#$, well that is a penalty on Hain for sure. Kind of got a bad feeling as we are 13 seconds into the game and Denver has committed two pretty obvious penalties and Hain had an obvious penalty but the only 1 of the 3 they called was the 3rd one committed.

Hain ready to play, but Schmaltz will still be out along with Montgomery.
As expected. The league wouldn't want DU to be shorthanded. Now, if Kleven would have been involved in that melee, he would have been retroactively given a game or two suspension.
Hopefully this is accurate as I heard we might potentially be down an additonal forward this weekend.
