Tom Miller @tommillergf Unless I'm going crazy, UND started warmups with the new helmets with Fighting Hawks logo on the side. Went to the locker room and just came out with blank silver helmets. So either they were falling off or they realized they looked like sh!t and took them off.

1st week, they looked great. 2nd and 3rd week---not as good but the stripes down the middle look great. week 4---stripe gone and a large white blob on grey. You don't put primary white on lighter greys. Not a good look.

James is our best 200 foot forward and has been since the end of last season. Hopefully he can find his scoring touch but his speed is a problem for most teams and he is phenominal on the penalty kill.

I did not expect UND to win last night but expected them to keep it somewhat respectable against a team that isn't overly athletic and that will likely finish somewhere between 9th and 12th in the Big 10. I was prepared for something along the lines of UND scoring 65-75 and Iowa scoring somewhere between 85-95 with a 15-20 point spread so expectations are diminished for the time being to see if this was hopefully a one off game for us.

Similar to 2010 when we opened their new arena for them in the Hall of Fame game and they had to wait until the game was over to test their new Goal Horn.

As in all officiating "points of emphasis" they are null and void after Thanksgiving.

True. The Gophers made him a non factor in the semifinal game last year as he had to defend more than he likes to. He was with team USA at the World Championships last year and they primarily used him on the power play and when we had an offensive zone faceoff. He was outmuscled and beat for the overtime goals in the semi final and bronze medal games. He definitely needs to add some muscle but he is beyond dynamic with the puck.
