There's also something to be said about the level of play and experience. Hobie has three career starts against Alaska and Omaha. Persson has obviously seen more of NCHC play, against all teams in all situations. I'm not against a split and giving Hobie the shot, but I'm not close to saying Persson isn't our No. 1.

I know you're kind of kidding here, but there's a 0% chance this is true. This area is, crazy enough, an improvement from last year, but yes, it happens way too much.

Fixed my post lol

Move on, get the win, and beat the Red Cows because frankly, UND is the better team. Persson, with the rust shaken off, gets back to his early-season form, the D settles down, and the forwards continue to rip as they have the past three games, and UND walks 6-1 Berg, Blake, Gaber, Jammer, Johannes x2

Friday against our farm team in Omaha

Spot on. It was so weird. We'd go through stretches just dominating that game and UNO didn't touch the puck for 4 minutes, then they'd come down the ice, we'd have a breakdown, and boom, back of the net. Offense looked very good last night. So many little silly mistakes on D. Luddy needs to get back to early-season form. -

Just to clarify, I was kidding. Are you suggesting Sandy should have played in that game? -

Sanderson?!? No way. Kid was a bum! Got hurt and couldn't even tough it out for a playoff game -

Schlossy said he can return to UND, but likely won't. We'll be down one player, but we still have a full lineup. Could add a player, but I doubt we would. -

Persson was the one that was out due to illness last week. Zmolek played. Persson is back this week and in net tonight. -
Morrow, I totally get. Rizzo, he's the one who bailed! Such a weird situation. Halliday's situation was weird, too. He was recruited as a true blue chippa, fell off the face of the earth during junior, and then became a very good hockey player at OSU.

Totally agree, @scpa0305. I've heard he is planning for a year in junior. Morrow's "issue" wasn't his play.

2023-24 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

I'm very confused by this conversation. Emerson left. We didn't cut him. We didn't bring someone back in lieu of him. I can understand that we maybe could have developed him in his 3rd or 4th year, but again, he left. -

"Emerson is the first UND player to leave the team midseason since Adam Tambellini in 2013-14. Tambellini went to the Western Hockey League in January of that year. UND ended up reaching the NCAA Frozen Four that April with a team captained by Dillon Simpson, now a first-year assistant coach. Tambellini was playing regularly when he left, though." Welp, book your tickets, boys -

Bummer, but the kid has to do what he has to do. He wasn't cracking the lineup and if he didn't see a way in, so be it. Sounds like UND wanted to make it clear that he wasn't cut and Emerson did it himself. Blows my mind that players have advisors telling kids to do things like this. I don't understand it. But again, you do you, boo. Wish you the best. -
Fri - Blake Sat - Berg

I don't completely disagree, but Eli Manning, John Elway, Eric Lindros, Shaq and the list goes on, have done this. Can certainly repair an impression of image. Philly deserves a bit of the blame if the kid said he didn't want to be there.
-
Let's get this going. Very interested in seeing our new line combos. Time to get it rolling again and get past these past few games. UND wins 4-2 Blake, OMac, Strinden, Perron

I was told it wasn't just a little bit of work on the 3x3, but A LOT of work on the 3x3 lol

There are absolutely people going off the rails about this three-game (four?) skid. Not only here, but other mediums. Regardless, I'm very confident we'll be fine. But, we'll see.
-
Hahaha you can do you, I'm just telling you I think it's crazy to go off the rails based off three OT losses and an exhibition loss (with four players out including our clear No. 1 goaltender). We had a tremendous first half. I think it's nuts to think it's all coming down. Again, you do you.

100% agreeing with all points, particularly the middle. We could really use this sweep. Would love to see them get their swagger back. With that said, even if we don't UND still absolutely has their season still in front of them.
-
All of those points are fair, but we could sweep this weekend and still tank the rest of the way. We could get swept and still win a national championship. Getting swept by the No. 20 PWR would vault them, but would absolutely still leave us in the middle of the PWR pack and nowhere near the bubble. If they were 45 or something like that, it would be a much bigger problem. The overreactive nature of our fanbase robs so many the joy of a season. We all know this team is a very good team. It's nearly impossible to guess if this weekend will be wholly defining of anything. Just so many games left.
