Vice versa, while not as prevalent, is also annoying. Sorry that that's happened to you, man. Being honest, there.
-
Completely fair point and fair question. I'd be willing to say that I don't think the "division" of the fanbase doesn't help growth. However, I don't believe the division is really a thing that's causing a big problem.
-
Definitely my opinion and not trying to be rude, but you have no idea who I am nor who I know in Grand Forks, at UND or within the Athletic Department. So, feel free to think my opinion is unfounded. Doesn't bother me. I don't understand why it's an odd take. I'm not arguing that the "division" exists, because it does. I, for one, don't think it's that prevalent. I also don't understand why it's an odd take to think the effect isn't a big deal because of a lack of actual, tangible evidence to indicate it other than people whining on the internet. I don't feel it's that big of a problem. You do. That's alright by me. I'm still going to support UND in any way that I can that doesn't involve buying the logo that I don't like. I'm assuming you'll do the same.
-
And again, I feel like this "division" is incredibly overblown. I've seen nothing to indicate that attendance is going down or we're making less money BECAUSE of this issue.
-
I'm certainly not denying this is something they're hearing this all the time. I'm just questioning the effect and what it means. Tangible means "hard" data.
-
This is all I want. If it's something quantifiable and tangibly hurting UND, they need to get out in front of it and tell the fans this. I've said it now probably 100 times. People who don't like the logo accept that the Sioux name isn't coming back, in general. They just don't like it. Ignore it and time will move them.
-
Correct.
-
Ok, but what is the effect? "General effect" means nothing to me. Are we losing fans? Is the school losing money? Are less tickets being sold? Of course they are going to have to talk about it, but I'm asking for real proof that this is a deep-seeded issue. The general effect seems that people are just talking about it.
-
THIS is my overall point outside of the "transition" will take time. This "fanbase division" is just basic whining. People are still supporting the teams and University.
-
Have done this. Noticed nothing. Have had friends do this. Noticed nothing. Am I saying this doesn't happen? No. I'm saying this "division" narrative between the fanbase is overblown.
-
Again, any proof? No, not dominating marketing... not really sure how to measure that... but, them "stepping into the vaccuum of our in-fighting". What is this even implying? Are they stealing UND fans? Again, I'd love some proof. You are absolutely demonizing this portion of the fanbase by implying and overtly stating that they are delusional. I 100% feel the "division" between the fanbase is incredibly small. We're all still supporting the programs. Simply have to die? Goodness.
-
"Stepped into the vacuum of our in-fighting" ... Is there any proof of this? Like, even a shred? This feels so overblown. You're acting like it's the 60s and UND is segregated by logo. What I see... People don't like the logo, but are still supporting UND.
-
What's scary about this? I'm so confused. These people aren't buying the new logo, but are they attending games? Are they buying legacy gear? Are they buying other non-logoed gear? Until something comes out saying UND is suffering in any way from the lack of logo support, all you're doing is demonizing those that dislike it.
-
That's what I'm trying to get across... There is no alternate reality. Those who dislike the logo, nearly all of them, know the Sioux isn't coming back. They still don't like the logo. So, that drives the "well, it is what it is" sentiment. Again, demonizing those who dislike the logo as "out of touch with reality" isn't helpful. Want to help this process? Buy the logo, if you see fit and continue to support UND no matter what. Telling someone else how they should think is doing nothing but pissing people off.
-
I've said this so many times, telling people what to do simply won't work. Nearly all of those who don't like the logo don't have any illusion that the Sioux logo is coming back. They just don't like the logo. Telling someone to "grasp reality and move on" is such a waste of breath.
-
God, this is perfect.
-
You struggling with reading comprehension today? The point was clear. He doesn't like it, but it is what it is and he feels like that sentiment is becoming the consensus.
-
It will absolutely MORE popular, but it still won't be widely accepted. I've always thought it'll take a generation. Basically, all the kids who were born with FH will be the ones to first fully embrace it.
-
Or, they are enthusiastic about selling to both UND and NDSU fans because they know they can make a really good chunk of money on it.
-
I actually don't know if that is haha. Sorry. However, I do know UND vs. NDSU is
-
Again... apples... meet oranges.
-
Beat me to it... UND vs. NDSU is incredibly different in terms of scale than UGA vs. ND, but it's still No. 4... that says the demand is insane.

Hahaha sure? Because I drop one meme trying to calm down a troll? Do I really need to explain how memes work? That's ADORABLE! You do you, boo boo. *Pats SlowHand on head*
-
Lol I was 100% kidding, hence why I dropped the meme. Mainly just trolling that troll as best as I can. Didn't look into it even for a millisecond.
