So, in short.... 1 -- Leave the best conference in the country The rest (other than the Grandma, because we all love that) -- The REA decides to make itself less money. Seems like a solid plan

University of North Dakota Hockey 2019-20 Season
stoneySIOUX replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
I think a lot of fans had a bad expectation for him. We've been strapped for scoring for a couple years now and a lot of fans expected him to put up Top 6 points, but he's more of an energy guy. Any goals from him were going to be a plus and it's been great this year. -
This... it's pretty easy. We're also two years into a NCAA tourney drought. Wins drive the boat. Not worried if we continue to play like we have this season. Deer opener has always seen an attendance drop and always will.

University of North Dakota 2018-19 Season

Hockey players have a lot of pride. Sounds like JJ wanted to be there for his team. -
No reason to let off the gas. Get the sweep. 4-1 good guys. Michaud, Guchi, Yon, Senden

I wasn't there in person, but I can imagine watching UND pick corners consistently is fun to watch Watching with a buddy, I tried to think back to how many times in the past two season we saw our team beat a goalie clean with a wicked wrist shot. I could think of less than 5. Tonight, I think we had 4.

-
Yup yup. Looking forward to playing them after we take care of Miami.
-
Spot on. I understand they beat us a bunch last year, but those games we're one bounce games.
-
Sounds like a party, my friend.
-
Don't be ridiculous... no way we get two
-
What size beers we talking?
-
Unless they took a really massive step forward from last year, I don't believe they are that much better.

Conference time, baby. Good guys in green start it off on the right foot. 4-2 UND Mash, JBD, Senden, Adams 2-for-5 on the PP

University of North Dakota 2018-19 Season

He tried to play through it. Went through a million tests. Kept trying to play. Seems like a hockey player that most would laud around here. Instead, he was having his attitude and toughness questioned. -

For all of you that were questioning JJ. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/4754933-Joel-Janatuinen-opens-up-on-health-issues-last-season-It-was-so-crushing -
It's kind of what they've always done, historically. Very, very competitive for 2 or 3 years and then fall off, build back up. Symptom of getting guys who often not the "top-tier" and are four-year players and developing them well.

UND into #10 in both polls. DU No. 1 in both. https://www.uscho.com/2019/11/04/denver-still-perfect-still-no-1-in-this-weeks-uscho-com-division-i-mens-poll/

I love the call. Hope you're right! I'm very encouraged by the style of the PP this year. Seems like the guys just need to get used to it and get confident. Fire passes and rip the puck. Too many pauses.

This is the last of the opening stretch of games that may be turn out to be huge. These are two very winnable games before the schedule turns up a notch. 5-1-1 in the first 7 is excellent and necessary. I wanted to see UND go at least 7-2 in the first 9 based on the schedule and can be 7-1-1 a sweep.
-
Not necessarily bad. I just don't see an overall lack of anything, however. The improvement of our upperclassmen and the influx of talent is glaring, to me.
-
Ok, so, you're not talking about how this team is better than last, you're upset with recruiting. Got it. I'm on this year, man and I'm very happy with the progress, thus far.
-
Completely agree. The talent is better this year than the past two. Execution is the problem, IMO.
