  1. While I definitely saw the potential with Laurila, I thought he looked shaky to start but he’ll get better. Said it already but I’m just thankful we have a more veteran group that can allow him to learn without playing 20 minutes a game as was the case last season.
  2. Embarrassment of riches on defense, so helpful to help guys like Laurila along
  3. I’m aware, was more a comment on how they dominated without having much cohesiveness. Once they figure out lines, look out
  4. Won 7-0 and didn’t look particularly crisp, leaves me optimistic to what could be with this team. Manitoba looked better than previous years as well. Our defense is just too good for them
  5. Probably my 2nd favorite article Schloss has written. First place obviously being '24 Hours to a Title'
  6. We'll take em all, can earn really good money in the trades and would be great to see the labor market shift back this way for a change.
  7. Can confirm Homer showed up to play, Sandy and Spunar got scored on. Homer didn't get scored on once. Highlight was a one timer across the crease that he spread out for then stopped 2 subsequent grade As. He looks so big in net but was athletic while staying under control. I'm really excited to see how he looks this year. I remember when we played ASU thinking he's so dang big I don't know where you're supposed to shoot.
  8. I'd argue you tell more from tonight's scrimmage than last year's game against Manitoba.
  9. That would be an incredible 1-2 combo, too bad the seasons don't overlap
  10. Field staff sure, but you can do much more with less on the office side.
  11. Stroke and match play are completely different animals. Even more so when you consider the team element. Tiger had a hideous record at the Ryder Cup in the team formats.
  12. Really threw the anchor on Scheffler and expected him to carry Henley, he looked completely lost. JT looked nervous as hell, his game hasn't been sharp. Need a 2-2 at minimum out of the afternoon or the fat lady going to start warming up the pipes. It doesn't help this European team is pretty much identical to Rome, had a feeling this could be their year to win an away RC. Hope I'm wrong
  13. Went this May, Northern Ireland is incredible. Ironically, Belfast was about the least exciting part of the trip but seeing the sea of green there will be awesome. Giants Causeway, Dunluce Castle, the town of Portrush, Portstewart Golf Course, all added up to an incredible trip. Dark Hedges a bit overrated. Also, the Guinness tastes 10x better than stateside.
  14. We have to pull out all the stops at this point. New coach? Nah it's the lack of fishbowls
  15. Haven't won a title since we had a guy wear the bubble #BubbleCurse
  16. There we go
  17. Ha! The tight end, 84 I think, hopped into my arms. Thought he might bring the whole thing down but thankfully they built it sturdy enough. Those guys are a lot bigger up close
  18. Blake is so skilled and shifty he can get away with not being huge right away. Plus looks like he’s put in the work since moving up, I’m sure his dad is a good reality check for what it’ll take
  19. Had forgotten Cam went 4 straight shutouts, insane. I do however remember his back to back shutouts in Duluth. Didn't play the goal horn one time all weekend and it was magical. Of course sweeping UMD in Duluth is old hat these days.
  20. Looked like a Jackson Blake goal
  21. While I agree we learned some things in that game, Augustana was not a garbage team that people made them out to be after that game. Basically the equivalent of losing to St Cloud St last year.
  22. I go to 1 or 2 games a year at most and that was the fullest I've seen it in a long time. Now there was a pretty massive exodus at the half, I'd guess you lost 3-5k of those fans but pretty impressive for a season opener vs Portland State.
  23. We couldn’t get a drink at playmakers, walked right up to the bar at taverns. One blackjack table in playmakers too, said they wished they had dealers to open more. Could have filled every table, crazy
  24. Came here to reply this exact thing, Perron looked like a stud in that game scoring at will. I made that exact comment he outshined Blake. A great example that shows talent doesn't always translate across leagues. Lighting up the scoresheet vs Manitoba is not the same as finding space to score in the NCHC.
  25. Makes me cringe every time I see it
