So much this... you ever notice how the schools that get attacked the most have the most successful programs. You don't hear anyone saying "Man that AIC has some dipshit fans, and don't even get me started on Alabama Huntsville!' If you hope to please everyone and want everyone to like our fanbase you're going to be pretty miserable. They take shots at 'being obnoxious' because they need to steer the conversation away from anything that has to do with the actual sport at hand, which is hockey. Kinda like when people say 'there's nothing to do in Grand Forks so that's why they have so many fans'. It's just them lashing out because their team isn't nearly as exciting to follow.

I think you missed the point of his post. He was talking about how Casey might have a lotta work left physically to make the NHL to have any sort of longevity. Of course you'd love to have someone with his skill on your team.

<Slow clap>, so much this. And we got a 4-0 lead 25 minutes into the game so our offense played conservatively which led to Minnesota 'controlling the play' and outshooting us. At no point was Minnesota ever in that game. Major or minor we outplayed the gophs for a large portion of the weekend.

I didn't notice Mittlestadt at all Friday, was expecting to see Jost level puck control but he got the puck knocked off his stick pretty consistently. Not saying he's not extremely talented but he has some catching up to with the college game.

Yeah UND played them in Alaska, while UAA had to travel to Colorado for their series. CC is a better team this year but I expect 2 wins.

BUT since I've been an assistant or head coach here we have never had an opposing coach so I was shocked to hear 'No' to Lowell Schweigert's invite to Don Lucia. When I was an assistant under Blais, even though he may not have wanted to he went to the UofM boosters luncheon and made Hak and myself come with. The reason is because despite us being very competitive on the ice, after the games we are respectful of each other because hockey is a small world. When I told the guys(UND team) about this in the locker room their eyes got really big. This is why we are so proud of how we conduct ourselves at UND and do things the right way. At one point, he apologized because he was getting worked up. It definitely seemed like he took it as an affront to our program & I don't disagree. If someone that was there thinks I am not summarizing this well or missed something please interject but this is what I got out of it. My friend and I were blown away that he was basically savaging Lucia and not mincing words whatsoever. I wouldn't be surprised if there are some words spoken between those 2 this weekend no matter the outcome of the games.

Were you at Marriuci? Friday night was nuts and the crowd was going wild. I talked to Gopher fans who said it was the craziest atmosphere they've seen since the Big10 started and bemoaned the current state of their league because atmosphere was nothing like that weekend. So according to you, I haven't moved on from the Sioux nickname right?

No, not the same. NDSU is head and shoulders above UND in football(for now hopefully). In hockey, UND and UMN usually play exciting and competitive games with each team getting the upper hand at different times. Also, they both are usually top 10 in the country.
