I'd specify which part of the season or they might just play better in November and take March/April off

2016-2017 College Hockey (Non UND Hockey)

This is why I love the Tampa FF so much. The city really embraces and advertises the Frozen Four week. It feels like it's a big deal to them where as in a place like Chicago it seems to get lost in the shuffle as just another hockey tournament. -

I didn't mean Poganski was on the level of those guys but he's very much a possession player as you said that we don't have any next year. Pogo was straight-up dominant along the boards this past year when it came to possession. If he comes back(sounds like he is), I look forward to the strides he can make in the point production area of the game. -
Seriously though, are we at risk of losing Mismash for WJC and a month for the Olympics? Or do people think this will be made up mostly of AHL players? This could seriously affect college teams during their stretch run in February.

Let's give JC a little more cred... although him and Rocco were usually a package deal

https://www.nhl.com/avalanche/news/tyson-jost-excited-to-join-colorado-avalanche/c-288261146 Maybe I'm being too presumptuous but reading this article, I really believe Tyson will regret leaving UND so early. It feels like a hastily made decision with good intentions but I can't help but remember former NHLers saying 'Man I wish I would've stayed another year'. Tyson barely got to even take it all in. An excerpt: "A lot went through my head, but then when that contract was in front of me, I thought, 'Yeah, this is my dream, and this is what I've wanted all my life. I've worked for almost 18 years to get to this point.' So I thought I'd sign," Jost admitted. "It was a wave of emotions. Obviously, it was a dream come true to sign my contract and be with this organization. It happened in a pretty quick span of time there. Things went pretty quick. I didn't really get to enjoy it just because it was kind of a rough process but to say the least, I'm really excited to be a part of this organization." There's no doubt in my mind Jost will have an incredibly successful career at the pro level and I'm very happy he came to UND but 3...5...maybe 10 years down the line I gotta believe he's gonna wish he stuck around a little longer. EDIT: Also, this is an unnerving part of the article: He could have stayed in Grand Forks, working on his education and chasing the dream again next season, but watching a teammate like Brock Boeser leave for the NHL and linemates Shane Gersich and Austin Poganski enter talks of making the leap reignited his deep-seated desire to join the ranks of the top tier of the sport.

Time to re-look at certain rules?

If that goal gets waved off, Grand Forks would look like Dinkytown after the 2014 semifinals... and I'd be leading the charge -

I'd think Olson has to be the favorite to wear the C, right? -

Interesting read, especially the part about Jost talking to McKinnon and having reservations about the state of the Avs. https://milehighsticking.com/2017/03/30/colorado-avalanche-prospect-tyson-jost-set-prove-legit/

If it makes you feel better, the 2016 national champions only had a Poweplay clicking at 19.1% which landed us 21st in the nation. Hardly a dangerous powerplay. -
Maybe build a new #hockeyonly apartment building attached to the Ralph so players have easier access to ice.

That excites me, Pogo could be dominant next year. His point production wasn't quite where I wanted it last year but my god his skating and board play are unparalleled. -
Hockey could use some new skate dryers.

What about 97-99?! Back-to-back-to-back national champions! If they won by less than 30 points it was disappointing. I remember as a young tyke thinking that they might be better than the men!

Take from it what you will but Polanski on TTD talks about guys coming in and figuring out their roles and says "I think WE'LL have a very good year next year" I know it's not a guarantee but gave me a little hope that he wasn't looking at bolting right away. -

I feel confident in saying that Chris Wilkie will NOT be signing early -
You're either missing or intentionally twisting what I'm trying to say and the cost/benefit analysis of trying to walk ya through it isn't worth the effort. Have a good one.

Equating the UND women's program to the Men's is silly and you know it is. That's why 12,000 show up on Friday nights and 200 showed up on Saturday afternoons. One has been around for about 80+ years, the other only lasted 15. We won 7 national championships before that incredible building was gifted to us and disappointingly only 1 since it opened... yet the fans still flock there every weekend. They'll probably shutter the Medical school to save money before cutting men's hockey... kidding ... or am I?
