Potential NIT Style Post Season Hockey Tourney
InHeavenThereIsNoBeer replied to nodak651's topic in Men's Hockey
Not sure you'll see many fans traveling for this after a season long of travel, but maybe I'm too pessimistic about the whole idea -
The Pairwise formula is based on an accumulation of games and how those comparisons play themselves out across the country so that's not an accurate statement. They are where they are because of the games they've won, lost and tied. There's no handouts being given.

UND within shouting distance of the national tournament at #17 in the Pairwise, must have got some help over the break because after WMU they were #22. This is probably the most important weekend of the 2nd half with Lindenwood 55th in PWR(Miami a close 2nd at 43rd). Sweep or bust

Noticed that exact same thing
-
Yup, for sure

Even if we were firing on all cylinders that would be a tall task to only lose 1 of 8. Don’t forget Miami just beat SCSU 5-0, none of those nchc games are easy this year

I think we’d all agree the team played a full 60 tonight and just drew the short stick, one bounce the other way and we walk out with the W. Truly a game of inches… -
Don’t we all?

2022-23 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

Don't disagree but something about glass houses comes to mind. This place isn't exactly a bastion of reason and logic. -
Not saying this will happen this year necessarily, but didn't Driscoll have a rough start last year and find his groove in the 2nd half?

2022-23 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

That’s the great thing about this board. We push James back to retain Calder and James decided to go elsewhere this board would be on fire. Dammed if you do, damned if you don’t. -

You sure have a lot of information, Nick Por... err BusinssSoot -
It's this board's default every time there's any sort of bump in the road and it's so played out and tired. Back-to-Back-to-Back Conference Champs in what is definitively the toughest conference in college hockey, Bubs is not going anywhere soon.

The funny thing is the posters on this site wanted Hak fired and used these exact same statistics but in a negative way. We've come full circle.

I think that’s what’s frustrating about this team. They don’t lack talent, they can score, but it’s so inconsistent. Hopefully it’s just a transition period in baptizing the transfers and freshies into the way we play. I can’t remember which coach it was last year but it was the perfect compliment. It went something like “North Dakota plays like they don’t have elite-level talent on their team” or something along those lines. We need to get back to that.
