This is going a bit off topic but I'm curious...why did the previous ceremony where the Sioux tribe blessed (blessed may not be the correct word) the use of the name for the University not take care of this requirement? Was it not typed on NCAA sanctioned paper? Is the blessing only good for a certain number of years, like an expiring blessing? I get your comment above that this is what the NCAA is requiring but why hasn't the past event I mentioned provided precedence to take care of this?

You just keep digging your hole deeper, saying he sucks is just clueless. That value in the locker room carries onto the ice. Go ask Hakstol or any of Mario's teammates for their assessment of Mario. I bet you they'd laugh in your face if you told them he sucked. No one ever said he was great... did they?

I found the best way to handle those fans was ignore them and cheer extra loud in their general direction when the Sioux mounted that insane comeback. That was the best hockey game I have ever been to hands down! I'm still in shock that it happened and made me very proud of this team and proud to be a fan of the Fighting Sioux.

A lot of people disagree with you according to that contest that ranked it as the best looking logo in all of hockey, but hey you're entitled to your opinion... I guess the reason I like the new one is because of the symbolism behind it.

Why? I'm leaving out the most important attribute in a player and comparing apples to oranges...

That be leaving quite a bit out of it considering that's Mario Lamoreaux in a nutshell. It'd be like saying, leaving out all of the physical skills I'd take Joe Finley over Jonathon Toews because he's taller.

I watched every single game last year (many of them live) and went to the game against Michigan at the Excel. I can say that the entire team looked to me like they were playing nervous. Passes were bouncing off of sticks that any other game of the year they would have caught with ease. They almost appeared rigid. Everyone feels the pressure in these games, it's just how you handle that pressure that defines you as a team and that team didn't execute when it mattered most. You can look at many plays in the game that point to that (Genoway shooting into Hunwick with 1/2 net open, Frattin wide open in the slot). These plays would be goals every other game of the year but it wasn't to be that night. Toughest game i've ever had to watch in my life.

I would not feel safe if we are sitting at 12-14 waiting for other tournaments to finish...just sayin

Thanks, that is a very helpful explanation. I had never considered a tie since all of the PWR predictor articles are whether we will get 0,2, or 4 points. Wasn't sure what 3 would do when I was watching the end of the game on Saturday night.

So how does a tie affect the Pairwise for the Sioux compared to a loss? Does it help? I am just wondering because BE saved that point for us in the WCHA standings but does it also help in the Pairwise?

I've heard rumor of the Winnipeg Jets a couple of weeks ago, anyone else hear anything similar because that one came out of left field for me and not sure if there was any factual backing to this?
