  1. According to your predictions Jim it would appear that UND had a lot go their way this weekend(outside of the sweep) as you showed only about an 8% chance they'd end up at #12 with two wins
  2. Putting 9 up on anyone is pretty damn impressive in my opinion though. Good confidence builder for the team moving forward and great game for Zane to return for. Now time to take it to Duluth!
  3. The premium UNDinsider app, I believe that's what it's called. It's $5
  4. Nope, that's why. Funny part was I was in Warroad aka Hockeytown USA visiting friends(in close relation to former Sioux players) and they didn't have the channel to watch the game, talk about irony.
  5. Ah I see, little slow on the uptake today
  6. Can't tell if this is sarcastic? haha
  7. Thank goodness, really hope Zane can take the reins from here on out!
  8. I'm definitely sensitive to it, maybe overly so but I grew up respecting the logo and what it stood for. But definitely come on the boards more often, we can always use some victim's err... I mean opponents fan perspective
  9. Comments like that were used as leverage to show that UND should not have a Native American logo instead of the high regard we hold it so yeah, it'll piss some people off.
  10. Yeah agree, but I want that Penrose Cup to have UND on the top line
  11. Hey now! Don't provide real stories that actually happened instead of just conjecture that he doesn't seem like a nice guy. Cool story about his interaction with your son though. My parents have ran into Hakstol in St. Cloud and said he couldn't have been nicer. I think he's really intense and that puts some people off for some reason, not sure why. I remember seeing him at King's Walk in the pro shop about to go play golf and he looked as if he was about to play in the Masters. In my opinion(I'm sure a lot of bashers will disagree), he doesn't do anything less than 100%. He really wants to win and I think that has shown when he's won the McNaughton Cup, Broadmoor Cup, and NCAA regionals. Just one final step, and I hope he gets there really soon(like within the next 2-3 years).
  12. As long as 37 attempts is enough of a sample size for you to declare the dump and chase completely useless no matter the personnel, knock yourself out. Just pointing out that it was a black and white answer to something that's not that simple. If you have the right personnel or the right situation the dump and chase isn't a completely dead option. This team has had it's fair share of struggles carrying the puck in as well, turning it over at the blue line, and allowing more 2 on 1's than I care to remember. Hopefully mixing up some lines and changing the strategy throughout the course of the game so other teams don't know what we're doing every single time, like last weekend, would prove to more fruitful.
  13. I must have missed it the next few times. Admittedly made it to the bar upstairs for a shot and drink after the 2nd period so that could have affected my recollection .
  14. Not necessarily true, that would imply dump and chase has never worked for anyone... ever. However did anyone notice the one time a UND forward pretended like he was entering the zone, turned around and passed to a dman who carried it into the zone? Then of course Mattson flubbed the puck at the blue line and it was cleared again. They never tried it again despite it working, thought that was odd.
  15. Late, I admit but...my weekend reactions to the Sioux games.
  16. Oh crap, I agree with a Gopher fan. I better turn in my Sioux fandom ASAP. It's pretty funny that the Minnesota fan is trying, or so it appears, to inject some logic and keep fans from jumping off the cliff after a split. All in all, this is pretty damn hilarious watching this website blow up like clockwork after every single regular season loss and re-hash the last 10 years and why Hakstol should be fired immediately and replaced with one of the SS.com forum members.
  17. I think a lot of times saying that is that fan finding the silver lining in some of the ncaa disappointment we have had. Almost every one of our fans wants a natty. There are just some slight disagreements on how to get there.
  18. Did you see how Archibald's "hat trick" was scored? 1st goal- off Simpson's skate, so really an assist by Archibald 2nd goal- big change up that almost was too slow to cross the goal line yet Saunders magically missed every part of the puck 3rd goal- driving wide around Schmaltz, who recovers and gets his stick on the puck. Saunders overplays Archibald and fails to notice the puck sliding in the near side of the net. I wouldn't put it up there as one of the sexiest hat tricks ever scored. If anyone deserved to be "roughed up" it was our goalie and defense so I'm all for the bag skate idea.
  19. Makes sense, I'm interested to see how this will adjust to your future predictions and if it will be more or less volatile and hopefully (fingers crossed) gives UND a better chance to make bigger moves upwards!
  20. Yes, good point. You would have to have AT LEAST 1 loss, could even have 2 with the 3rd place game now. What's the reasoning for switching your stance on PWR as I thought earlier in the year you were more keen on USCHO's?
  21. They don't "need to" as of right now, however if they don't play extremely well coming down the stretch it's a possibility. Winning the Final Faceoff obviously will get them in but there are other ways. We are 3 pairwise spots out of having a solid chance at being in, so I'm not ready to submit to the doom and gloom just because we had a home split.
  22. Don't forget that Jim did not factor in a potential 2-5 extra games beyond that. I have a feeling UND will at least need to make it to Minneapolis to be playing in the NCAA Tournament at the end of the year.
