  1. Since my 6-0 prediction was spot on last night(in my defense I assumed Zane would start) I'll stick with my 3-2 prediction for Saturday.
  2. Was at the Bemidji state game and the one last night. The difference being that you could feel it was only a matter of time before we started scoring a ton of goals last night. Could have easily been 4-2 after one period as there were countless scoring chances. The LSSU goalie was playing really close to the ice I noticed. So I said to my buddy if we can shoot high on this guy, we'll score a bunch... and we did Also, to the guy in section 104 who got up and left in disgust after the 4th LSSU goal, you missed a hell of a game!
  3. I believe that was apparent after he won the PST tournament last year on KFAN. A comment before a Wild Blackhawks playoff game where he stated it would be better for the Wild if the game were 0-0, rather than having a 2-0 lead after one period.
  4. Sioux 6-0, 3-2 and of course the traditional circle of sticks!
  5. Holy Cross in the 2006 regional... oh wait, never mind
  6. I think it's a mistake that grinding down in the corners and getting the puck to defensemen up top are mutually exclusive. Look at Jordan Schmaltz' goal on Saturday. Caggiula was grinding down in the corner and as a result Jordan was able to pinch in from the point to have a golden look at the net, which resulted in our first goal. After watching game film on our team from the first few games, it looks like teams have made adjustments and pressed our defensemen closer to the blue line, eliminating a lot of the plays they are so good at making. This requires an adjustment to try to work the walls and create scoring in the forward lines. If I'm thinking correctly, I believe Air Force was the first team that really keyed in on stopping our D from holding the puck too long which resulted in us needing our forwards to get involved and score some goals to squeak out that win.
  7. For what Toews is worth I actually thought it was fairly modest, but yes he should be able to squeeze in there
  8. I've looked at all the possibilities countless times with fellow diehards and discussed a few on this forum but there's only so much of the discussion I can take on an annual basis. I'm more interested in next week's opponent and where my seats are at for the Fargo regional
  9. Panties not in a bunch haha but I just mentioned it was funny you have never been to the arena and are trusting "some stranger's" take on it that really are just pissed we haven't won a national championship and are grasping to any variable they can find to place blame to. Make no mistake about it, the Ralph is as good as it gets for college hockey. As to your second paragraph of assumptions on what my stance on Hak is, I'm not biting. I love and breathe this hockey team and am very excited about this year. I dont need to go to petco for leashes, choke chains or whatever you speak of. Plenty of months in the offseason to revisit the coaching topic, not when we rattle of 10 wins pre-December.
  10. I get the fascination with old rinks, I really do. But you're telling me when Cornell gears up to play Yale(No idea who their best rival is) in front of 4,500 fans, it's better than Sioux Gophers with 12,000 people? Sorry but I'm callin BS.
  11. And a coach recently stated that "if you can play a game at The Ralph you can play in a national championship". Yup, the atmosphere must really suck. I'd challenge anyone to think of a more intimidating place to play. Only one that holds a candle to it is the Kohl Center, but that's when the team doesn't suck.
  12. You stated that after someone questioned whether you have been to a game. So it went 'Yeah the atmosphere is corporate.... but yes, I've never stepped foot in the new Ralph... and I base my statement on message board fodder.' With all due respect, that opinion isn't worth a velvet painting of a whale and a dolphin gettin' it on. And based on the volume of your 'Fire Hak merry go-round' posts you've had today, it actually seems to be slower on yours.
  13. There is still people literally yelling at the players but at 10-3-2 I haven't found much of a reason to freak out. I find it quite hilarious that you haven't stepped foot in, much less been to a game, at The Ralph in 24 years and are critiquing the atmosphere... .
  14. I'd type something but this basically highlights everything I think. 10-3-2, let's go get #8 and try to enjoy the ride!
  15. Yeah those conversations that just go in circles drive me crazy too...
  16. I'd be curious to know where we'd be if we hadn't won 10 games already. There's not many teams in the nation that won't have one of those bad losses, ask UMN, BC, BU etc. They've all lost to teams that will greatly hurt their PWR. Yeah things change very fast in the Pairwise this time of year, which is why it's not even useful to look at.
  17. It was 5-1, c'mon man! Can't forget Nick Schmaltz' 1st career goal!
  18. I would love to see this however every other league does 5 minute OTs so essentially we'd be given 5 minutes more to decide games that have pairwise implications. There's no way it would fly.
  19. 3-0 Sioux, Zane due for a shutout after all these bad bounce goals
  20. Completely agree, I always use pairwise when referring to teams. It's the only poll that has any meaning.
  21. Pairwise is extremedy volatile this time of year. Talk to me in January when it starts to collect a big enough sample size.
  22. I'd seriously consider sitting him. He has looked as complacent as ever. I love what he brings to the table but I'm not seeing it yet this year.
  23. You're way off! Last weekend CC just beat Wiscons... oh crap
  24. Anyone think J. Schmaltz has been sloppy/lazy in his own zone this year? I'm wondering where that dominant skater/stickhandler was I loved watching last year.
