  1. Also, I believe Miami has a blue chipper coming in too but not sure of his name.
  2. Well Miami has Czarnik, Barber, and Coleman coming back next year so they'll probably be better than UNO. That leaves UNO being better than AT LEAST St. Cloud and North Dakota, who has one of the strongest recruiting classes in the country coming in and only losing 2 players. So yeah... I'm saying no on this one as well.
  3. The guys putting the jerseys on next Thursday and that's all that matters.
  4. Good stuff, it was cool to hear Condon talk about it, especially the part about Rau getting pulled out of the line and Wehrs getting blown up in the corner
  5. True, but I'd say conference tournaments and the Frozen Four are different animals. One is to win a conference tourney, which is nice, but the other is to win the one thing a majority of players strive for the entire year. So in that respect, you don't want even a hint of an advantage towards one team.
  6. Just playing devil's advocate the only argument I could hear about it is lack of rest time. Whoever wins the Sunday night game could potentially have to turn around and play Thursday afternoon.
  7. Well there's a shocker, I'd like it too if the regional was in Grand Forks every other year . But yes, pricing is absolutely asinine.
  8. I guess my point is if we are going to move back to campus sites(which I'm highly in favor of), let's just do it the correct way and allow the #1 seeds to host. That way we pack the buildings and avoid any #1 seed(regardless if it's overall 1 through 4), having to play an away game. They earned the right to have a home ice advantage throughout the season and with parity in college hockey these days having it at your home rink provides no guarantees of making the Frozen Four. And in cases of the #1 seed not being able to hold their rink for the dates, let them choose an alternative or 2. For example, if UND couldn't use the Ralph(highly unlikely), we could go to Scheel's Arena in Fargo or even the Xcel if we wanted to. Hey, maybe we could even throw ice in the Alerus!
  9. He was speaking to the idea of having the #1 team host the regional, not earning a #1 seed and having to go play an away game.
  10. So you'd rather have a chance at a #2, #3, or #4 seed hosting the regional? For example, next year Notre Dame could be a #4 seed and be playing the team that earned the 1 seed at their home rink...that seem fair?
  11. The ones where we rehash the last 10 years even though we made the frozen four 24 hours ago? Yippee
  12. Guys... we made the Frozen Four, why so heated? Our season and national title hopes are still kickin, enjoy it! As Rubio says "change your face, be happy"
  13. Wisconsin>Ferris State If we play as hungry as we did last night, we'll win. The 1st Badger goal that took a nasty bounce off the glass doesn't happen at The Ralph and the 2nd one was fortunate to find a Wisco stick. Obviously anyone can lose to any other team this time of year but we are a better team than FSU, just hope we play like it tonight.
  14. I have the same, but in OT http://collegehockeysource.wordpress.com/2014/03/28/ncaa-regional-pregame-228/
  15. I would rather be winding through some mountains, lakes, trees, signs of life etc. to look at and keep me occuppied if I'm driving that far. The problem with a drive being so easily you can basically fall asleep is just that, you could fall asleep! Seriously though, I hate Nebraska after driving back & forth from school in Colorado Springs multiple times a year. The only semblance of a landmark is that random museum bridge right in the center of the state.
  16. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. This hits home especially hard for me this weekend and I hope the Shopek family can enjoy their time with Gary, no matter how long it may be.
  17. No one said you or anyone else is a bad fan...easy now
  18. I know no one wants to but some still do. And I know the fan base supports the team, as I've witnessed and participated in it many times. This is why I was inquiring why the bus was a bust but it may be too far for a bus like you said.
  19. Denver is easy? I have to find out which route you take?! 14-15 hours through SD, NE, and Eastern Colorado is not my idea of a fun day
  20. Not when the tickets are in the $1,000 range that I've been hearing about. But go ahead and use the current year as an implication that every single person flies to games. I've driven to a game in Omaha and Denver so that sorta debunks your airtight theory.
  21. Agreed, wish it was that way and in Madison where there'd be sure to be 15k plus screaming fans...but I'm sure Cincinatti will be awesome with the 800 fans in attendance.
