  1. My wife follows hockey somewhat, goes to 5-10 games a year and she recognized about 5 players when they announced the team at the fanfest.
  2. Thought he might be a good bottom 6 guy and carve out a career.
  3. I'm all for the entrepreneurship(it's a cool concept) however the most surprising part of this story is that Weatherby's over in Czechia playing hockey. I always thought he may hang around in the NHL or at least the AHL for a bit.
  4. Let's hope we don't get lit up by Bauer Berry or Mason Poolman this weekend.
  5. You think the national pundits(and some local ones) would learn but every year we're talking about how the Big 10 is going to start dominating college hockey. But who collects that little ole trophy at the end of the year? The NCHC
  6. He can dangle which is crazy for his size. He had his stick up for some one timers on the PP, one in particular that Zellers should have passed. Finally got one at the end of the game and hit the post. He looks very impressive for a barely 17 year old. That being said he made a couple turnovers but nothing egregious. Last night felt like there wasn’t enough pucks to go around. A lot of weapons, it’ll be up to the coaching staff to figure out how they all work best together.
  7. Strathman was a menace on the blue line breaking guys ankles. Gave me flashbacks to chay genoway. Not sure how he sits.
  8. While I definitely saw the potential with Laurila, I thought he looked shaky to start but he’ll get better. Said it already but I’m just thankful we have a more veteran group that can allow him to learn without playing 20 minutes a game as was the case last season.
  9. Embarrassment of riches on defense, so helpful to help guys like Laurila along
  10. I’m aware, was more a comment on how they dominated without having much cohesiveness. Once they figure out lines, look out
  11. Won 7-0 and didn’t look particularly crisp, leaves me optimistic to what could be with this team. Manitoba looked better than previous years as well. Our defense is just too good for them
  12. Probably my 2nd favorite article Schloss has written. First place obviously being '24 Hours to a Title'
  13. We'll take em all, can earn really good money in the trades and would be great to see the labor market shift back this way for a change.
  14. Can confirm Homer showed up to play, Sandy and Spunar got scored on. Homer didn't get scored on once. Highlight was a one timer across the crease that he spread out for then stopped 2 subsequent grade As. He looks so big in net but was athletic while staying under control. I'm really excited to see how he looks this year. I remember when we played ASU thinking he's so dang big I don't know where you're supposed to shoot.
  15. I'd argue you tell more from tonight's scrimmage than last year's game against Manitoba.
  16. That would be an incredible 1-2 combo, too bad the seasons don't overlap
  17. Field staff sure, but you can do much more with less on the office side.
  18. Stroke and match play are completely different animals. Even more so when you consider the team element. Tiger had a hideous record at the Ryder Cup in the team formats.
  19. Really threw the anchor on Scheffler and expected him to carry Henley, he looked completely lost. JT looked nervous as hell, his game hasn't been sharp. Need a 2-2 at minimum out of the afternoon or the fat lady going to start warming up the pipes. It doesn't help this European team is pretty much identical to Rome, had a feeling this could be their year to win an away RC. Hope I'm wrong
  20. Went this May, Northern Ireland is incredible. Ironically, Belfast was about the least exciting part of the trip but seeing the sea of green there will be awesome. Giants Causeway, Dunluce Castle, the town of Portrush, Portstewart Golf Course, all added up to an incredible trip. Dark Hedges a bit overrated. Also, the Guinness tastes 10x better than stateside.
  21. We have to pull out all the stops at this point. New coach? Nah it's the lack of fishbowls
  22. Haven't won a title since we had a guy wear the bubble #BubbleCurse
  23. Ha! The tight end, 84 I think, hopped into my arms. Thought he might bring the whole thing down but thankfully they built it sturdy enough. Those guys are a lot bigger up close
  24. Blake is so skilled and shifty he can get away with not being huge right away. Plus looks like he’s put in the work since moving up, I’m sure his dad is a good reality check for what it’ll take
