  1. Can he play on the club team to get some game action?
  2. Is there a recent bracketology thing a ma jig?
  3. I agree 1000%. I don't recall but is there a first rounder that has stayed 4 years? Finley maybe?
  4. I am optimistic for next year, not as optimistic as usual but hope for the best. I think you will always lose more players than average after winning a natty, players are a bit more inclined to move on to the next goal in their own timeline, right or wrong. Much has been said over years of people leaving early (Gregoire, Hextall, etc) that in hindsight looked to be a poor choice, but the choice is theirs to make, I won't hold it against them but I am overly forgiving of people living their own lives for themselves. It sucked to have JT Miller do what he did, same with Wilkie, and I forget the mid year transfer, but I like to think I am mature enough to not disparage people for their choices, the whole glass houses and all.
  5. but hasn't this been the same scenario every year, a first rounder is rare for 3 years, Jost was the only first rounder to leave after 1 year since Belfour... the turnover is expected, planned for, and not a big problem in the past. Seems like bringing it up in todays discussion is like throwing something against the wall to see if it sticks.
  6. if that blows your shorts up, maybe drive by the school for the blind, honking your horn and yelling run!
  7. I understand that, forced into that position when some players didn't work out... it's not like you are picking up a load of bricks at Menards and you grabbed the wrong one, as much as everyone would love the coach and staff of their favorite team to be able to discern the future, it is an art, a difficult art to project the abilities.. ie Sheppard....
  8. nope, but that ship has sailed
  9. I see, my thinking he is now a professional athlete, not just another former player.... My apologies for offending your sensibilities, is it spring yet
  10. Does the MSU guy lose his ability to win the Hobey by signing?
  11. not butthurt at all, not like I responded to a twitter post to put someone in their place.... especially someone that represented my alma matter to the best of their ability.
  12. Don't know, don't care. just get sick of your soapbox crowing every time the word sioux shows up.... like a rash from swamp ass
  13. that is what I was thinking, a way for the top talent, which is mostly GF kids to stay at home but play a level higher than ND HS... hoping the removal of the top cream in GF would bring more parity. Right now 3rd or 4th seed from the west run into a buzz saw. Granted to be the best you have to be the best. You want to play against competition slightly better than you to improve your play. A thumping discourages the lesser team and can build bad habits in the better team.
  14. great insight, I would humbly add that the success of youngster in the NHL may lead to more talent going that way.. I hardly got to see Duncan as I was in the no coverage / no time double blanket in western ND. But he became a favorite in short order, including my son wanting to be #16 still to this day... Got to wonder if Gaudreau & Duncan swapped time frames would Ryan be on the cover of Hockey News? in the same thought if Toews was 17 today, would UND be on his radar, especially for 2 years?
  15. I don't think B-Rad it the man to lead to a ..ship, not at this juncture of his career. Doubt the program has the patience to let him develope into Sandy....
  16. not sure why this is stated as a fact, if I was JBD or ottawa I would be considering things, same with mismash, adams, and tyonchuik..... those boys want to be in the show and player development is the key, culture only counts if it works....
  17. I am very optimistic with Senden, strangely enough I was tickled when he got called in a the last minute as it were.. makes me feel like a savant... My concern is player development, if that doesn't show that players will improve then recruiting will suffer.. Is B-Rad too old?
  18. It is Darrell's identity to champion the new name and squash any menton of the former. Quite ironic #moveonyourself
  19. exactly, one scoring phenom/star and 3 character guys... I don't think anyone on these boards can spell out the magic formula other than pure guessing.... not sure B-Rad is any more adept at it, hopefully he and hak are pounding beers in the garage nightly
  20. who were the seniors on the 16 team? Drake, Colton, some 4th liner from saskywan.... everyone has their place Gardners issues should have been addressed long ago, I think he as given a pass (debate that decision) because the large loss of talent from 16 & 17 seasons made him untouchable. He was / is prone to brain farts, not sure if or how to repair that, a recruiting miscue, maybe. Time to learn and move ahead.
  21. I find it interesting that several posts on this and other threads have commented on how good our defensive corps is, didn't we have several instances of giving up a 2 goal lead in the third? Doesn't that kind of show our defense also has issues? Speaking of defensive, it seems to me like our plan is cycle, then back to point of a shot, which makes for a lot of perimeter shots, which should work if. IF we have forwards crashing the net, but what I saw was all three forwards in the corner so we win that puck battle, leaving less for the opposition to cover and free them to cover the point. During the Denver series I noticed they pressured the point quite a bit... I suspect Berry's system is too well known and also stifles creativity, the forwards first thought is their defensive responsibility.... Is it october yet?
  22. Not sure this is accurate because you added "with the puck"... I saw seen (MM will edit) lots of hustle but not really any outstanding danglers..... and definitely no deadly snipers... so I believe scoring by committee is next on the standard game plan. The talent level by resume should have been enough to get that plan executed... so what happened. Perhaps the players were not trusting, saw lots of all forwards in the corner battle with nobody ready for the outlet. Or perhaps they started to "do it all myself" play.... Either way the coaching staff is responsible... watching Thru the doors and hearing coach Jackson tell Rhett he is playing the right way and playing fast out there had me scratching my head. Speaking of the Thru series, is it just me or is there an abundance of yellow pinnies in every episode? I mean more than prior years, definitely more than reported? Is there a training - conditioning issue? Seems like a pattern of dominate Friday, poop the bed saturday could be seen.. When is october, time to chip ice and shove chunks.
  23. Will the price for regional tickets dip low enough for someone to pay me to go? asking for a friend...
  24. So next season I expect to have a different living arrangement, and am contemplating no cable just internet. Will I my Sioux hockey addiction be a problem? Is NCHC.com boondoggle worth the expense & aggravation?
  25. I assume you are talking about tiling. My shallow understanding is the system can also be used to hold water, but I don't have a clue whether it is a significant tool or who makes the decision.
