  1. You have to go all the way back to 4 games ago against CC. FWIW, UND's last 3 wins were come from behind victories.
  2. Correct call, and pretty easy to see considering that his stick was right next to (and above) the crossbar.
  3. Looking like the win will cost the Vikings two spots in the draft. If current results hold (Dolphins and Saints winning) Vikings will draft 12th. A loss would have had them in the 10 spot. Not that big of a difference.
  4. I guess they want to win the game. We saw what the backups could do last week. Are you suggesting that the Vikings sit as many starters as possible? All of your points (better off losing, injury could hurt next year's value) would apply equally to any of the starters I would imagine.
  5. I think Boston had a small sheet too. Those arenas had the shortage taken out of the neutral zone. I believe the DECC was largely taken out behind the goal line. It had a very odd look to it.
  6. Soccer fields are often various different sizes. The DECC had a 190x85 sheet. That was crazy.
  7. NCHC has 6 of the Top 10 in Pairwise. While it is still very early to give the Pairwise a ton of weight, that is pretty impressive given that the majority of non-conference games are in the books.
  8. Agreed. We gave up 10 to the Gophers in '96-'97. Bad games happen.
  9. The loss at home to U.S. International with the Hrkac Circus comes to mind. 6-1 against BC in the Frozen Four in '08 was brutal. Blais had a handful of absolute stinkers where we would get beat giving up 8 or so against teams like SCSU and CC. At the end of the day, it is a long season. My expectations coming into the season was a fight for home ice and tournament bid. We are in excellent position for both, even if the Huskies score another 100 goals tonight. Of course, doesn't mean I'm not disappointed.
  10. Anything more than a split would be great. Anything less than a split would be disappointing. This team is living up to the expectations I had coming into the season. They will fight for home ice and an NCAA spot. The fight for an NCAA Spot has had its ups and downs, but is still well within reach. The fight for home ice starts this weekend. Beat Denver!
  11. 7 is probably about right. They beat the Cowboys at home, then drop games to the Ravens and Chargers. Then they crush the Packers at home to get to 5-5, and take 2/3 against the 49ers, Lions, Steelers to be sitting at 7-6. Then they drop an easily winnable game in Chicago (happens every year it seems), get their doors blown off by the Rams and Packers to get mathematically eliminated from the Playoffs. Sitting at 7-9, I wouldn't be surprised either way against Chicago at home. That's the type of game that the Vikings usually win...when it will actually hurt them in the long run. So, I'll say 7-10 or 8-9 Zimmer gets fired. At least we'll get to see the Packers choke in the NFC Championship game like always. Something to look forward to... : p
  12. The Gophers hang up runner-up banners.
  13. 37. North Dakota was an independent when they won in 1959.
  14. Both QU and Lowell were #1 seeds in 2013. I think QU was the #1 overall seed.
  15. Yep. Look at Michigan's NCAA Tournament history since their last title: 1999 - OT loss in Regional Final 2000 - Regional Final beatdown 2001 - Frozen Four loss 2002 - 1-goal Frozen Four loss 2003 - OT Frozen Four loss 2004 - OT loss in Regional Final 2005 - Regional Final loss where they blew a 3rd period lead 2006 - Curb-stomped by North Dakota at the Ralph 2007 - Curb-stomped by North Dakota in Denver 2008 - OT Frozen Four loss 2009 - Upset by Atlantic Hockey Champ 2010 - 2OT loss in Regional Final 2011 - OT National Championship Loss 2012 - OT loss in Regional Semifinal 2016 - Loss in Regional Final where game tied in third peroid 2018 - Frozen Four loss where they blew a 2-goal lead 2021 - Covid forces them to drop out.

  17. It did not happen very often: ----------- 1959-1960 to 1960-1961 - WCHA Conference Tournament Begins: Co-Champions awarded ----------------- 1960: Denver (shared tournament title with Michigan Tech) 1961: Denver (shared tournament title with Minnesota) ----------- 1961-1962 to 1964-1965 - MacNaughton Cup Awarded to Tournament Champion: Single Champion awarded ----------- 1962: Michigan Tech ----------- 1965-1966 to 1980-1981 - Broadmoor Trophy awarded to Tournament Champions: Co-Champions awarded ------------ 1968: Denver (shared Broadmoor with North Dakota) 1977: Wisconsin 1980: North Dakota (shared Broadmoor with Minnesota) ----------- 1981-1982 to 1986-1987 - Tournament changes to Single Champion format awarded via two-game total goals series ---------- 1987: North Dakota ----------- 1987-1988 to 1991-1992 - Tournament changes to Single-site, Single-elimination Semifinals/Finals --------------- 1990: Wisconsin 1991: Northern Michigan ----------- 1992-1993 to present - WCHA Conference Tournament branded as the "Final Five" --------------- 1997: North Dakota (shared MacNaughton with Minnesota) 2005: Denver (shared MacNaughton with Colorado College) So, 11 times total, and only 5 times "outright." If you only count from when they moved to the "Final Five" and limited it solely to outright champions, it never happened. In fact, during that time period (1992-1993 to the split), only three teams won both the MacNaughton outright, and then the Final Five title (2001-2002 Denver; 2006-2007 Minnesota; and 2010-2011 North Dakota). Those three teams combined for a 3-3 record in the NCAAs, with only the 2010-2011 Sioux squad advancing to the Frozen Four. ETA: No team has won the NCHC Regular Season and Tournament Titles in the same season...yet.
  18. Per hockeydb.com, Earl played 47 games in the NHL (9 with Toronto and 38 with the Wild), scoring 6 goals and 1 assist for 7 points.
  19. You are correct. Magnuson was a winger. Not sure why I thought he played defense. Fester played defense, but only about 3/4 of the games that season. Who am I forgetting?
  20. It would have been even more amazing. The '82 team would have had the following blueliners: Craig Ludwig (played over 1250 NHL games) James Patrick (played over 1250 NHL games) Rick Zombo (played over 650 NHL games) Chris Chelios (played over 1650 NHL games) Mike Stone Bill Whitsitt Troy Magnuson. That's nearly 5000 NHL games...just from the blue line. Would have been extremely impressive. The bigger impact likely would have been on the 1982-1983 team. They almost certainly would have made the NCAA Tournament that year, and likely would have challenged for back-to-back titles...something that still eludes North Dakota.
  21. Cheerios. Not sure if related to the cereal company. : - p
