Thought I heard that Iverson was more inclined to the Major Junior route, but who knows.
Yeah I think I've heard rumors that he may leave Breck for MJs as soon as next year, but he definitely looks like a good player, real good size and speed.
-
Watching the MN State Tourney a couple good prospects playing right now for Breck in freshman D-man Keegan Iverson and Senior forward Connor Andrle.

Per twitter, Eidsness will get the start tonight.
No changes to the rest of the lineup
Kinda figured we'd see Eids tonight, not only because it is Senior night but Dell has been very inconsistent on Saturday nights and I think this might help to keep Dell a little more focused and on edge which can be a good thing.
-
I believe it is down to Wiso or Bemidji and not sure who I would rather play, Bemidji has the better goaltending and Wisco has the edge in skilled guys. I think the only easy matchup this year is Anchorage, every other team can be dangerous.
-
Dell or Eids tonight?
I would probably go Dell tonight and go from there.

Anyone seen Jay Dickman of St. Paul Johnson play, I've seen him play once good size, decent skater, good skill, and physical. Looks to have some potential, just looking for others thoughts on him.
-
Anyone know anything about Red River Jr d-man Jon Lizotte, I know he has played in the fall elite league and thought he looked like a pretty good player watching him against Grafton.

Been out of the northern hs hockey loop this year. Any guys to keep an eye on from warroad, Roseau or Trf? Or other northern schools? Thanks to anyone in the know.
It doesn't really seem like there are any clear cut D1 studs, but some seniors I've seen that have the ability to definitely play after high school are Evan Ose and Riley Soderstrom TRF, Garrett Schmitz RLF, Jordan Heller and John Forseth Bemidji, Sam Coborn Park Rapids, Zack Lawdermilt and Tyler Hajicek EGF, Tommy Astrup and Hayden Timm Warroad, Michael Bitzer Moorhead. Some younger players to keep an eye on for the future Chris Forney 11 TRF, Tony Uglem 11 Moorhead, Matt Serratore 11 Bemidji, Eddie Eades 10 EGF, Colton Poolman 10 EGF, Dixon Bowen 9 EGF, Alex Strand 10 Roseau, Zach Yon 10 Roseau.

Wow, that had me sitting on the edge of my seat. Definitly room for improvement tomm. night. I saw in the last 2 minutes that a player was going off the ice shaking his hand, any idea who that was?
I saw that too and thought it looked like Gleason, hopefully its nothing that will keep him out.

Miami 1 Notre Dame 0 after 1
Gophers 1 Beavers 0 early 1st

From Jim's blog post on Sioux looking for sweep to help pwr
Thanks! I must have missed it in the blog when I read it.

Are there any other games this weekend that could really help or hurt the Sioux?
-
I really believe a key in this series is how we start and getting off to a good start and scoring an early goal could be huge. Sioux need to play fast and physical, but also play smart to get a couple wins!

I hope this works http://www.youtube.c...player_embedded"
After listening to this interview closely I think he said he was planning to go to school at UND or UofM, but he got some interest from junior hockey teams so he wasn't sure. It seems to me like he wasn't going to play hockey at UND or UofM but just attend school which makes more sense.
-
Just for a little comparison- Tanner Lane who played at Detroit Lakes and played relatively close to the same schedule had 49G 41A for 90Pts as a Junior and is headed to Omaha next year. I played against Lane and he was a much better and more dynamic player than what I saw out of Mason in the game I watched.
-
Matt Frattin isn't walking through that door. Brad Malone isn't walking through that door. Wehrs definitely isn't walking through that door. Can we talk about some prospective Sioux recruits? Alex Mason was saying he was going to attend UND or UM, but he has had some contacts from a couple junior teams in Canada, and is considering that. He could easily be a kid that plays college hockey some day. He's a very hard worker and plays with no fear. With some confidence and playing with better players, who knows...
Maybe when I watched him it was a bad night, but he looked kind of lazy and gave me no impression that he could play college hockey, he definetely was not the best player on the ice that night.
-
Has anyone seen the goal from alex mason from DL, some are calling it the goal of the year at any level. In another interview while he was at a pow wow he said that he is looking at either going to canada to play, UM or UND. This is the first I have seen of him. Is he on the radar?
I watched him play against Red Lake Falls and he didn't really stand out except for the long hair. I really doubt he has any college offers, if I were to guess he will maybe play in the NAHL at best, but who knows.

Any idea what year Lemieux would come in? 2014?

Sounded like we played pretty well, really took the play to Duluth 5on5 and had a number of chances that just missed. Duluth going 4-8 on the pp is a little bit concerning, but they have a good pp and we killed well against it last night. Very important for the boys to put this one behind them and continue to play well against Tech next week. Must get 4 points next week at home!

Among those who will try out for the NTDP are Sioux recruit Chris Wilkie and Crookston's Paul Bittner.
