There are a lot of guys who will tough to replace, but it has been done before. If Gregoire sticks around I could see him having a Frattin type season, I think a guy you may really notice a jump in level of play is Brock Nelson adding some muscle to his frame with an offseason in the Sioux weightroom will really help him and could make him a potential breakout player.

Very frustrating and disappointing loss, I can only imagine what it feels like for the team. This is a perfect example of what can happen in a win or go home situation, a goalie plays the game of his life and they get a lucky bounce here or there and thats it season over.
-
You know what's going to happen now right? After the early shelling both goalies will be unconscious and stop everything.
Then again...
Yeah more than likely. Anyone catch the Notre Dame player getting interviewed saying they weren't used to these soft calls and would need to adjust to stay out of the box, seems like we are not the only ones who think the ecac is soft.
-
Nice save there.
Someone should have told the goalies the game started at 4, because they seemedl like they missed half the period.

At one time the Sioux were said to be showing interest in Brodzinski, but now the only two schools listed are SCSU and Maine.

According to this you are correct. Holy Cross was #15 and Bemidji was #16.

Creater of the ESPN poster that I copied with permission was dakota fairways.
Photographer of the Michigan picture copied with permission was Ben Trapnell.
West Regional (Grand Forks, North Dakota) 2006:
(15) Holy Cross 4 - (2) Minnesota 3 (OT)
(7) North Dakota 5 - (10) Michigan 1
Championship Game:
North Dakota 5 - Holy Cross 2
I thought Minnesota was the #1 seed and Holy Cross was #16, I could be wrong but does anyone know who was # 1seed that year if it wasn't Minnesota

The Wild were turned off by Read's age and he turned down a two way offer from Columbus last yr. Hes doing well with the Phantoms. GWG in his second game.
I think the Wild made a mistake by not going after Read, they could use all the prospects they can get.

I really believe the winner of this game will win the national championship and hopefully that is the Sioux. LETS GO SIOUX!!!!!!!

I'll take Kristo to keep his goal scoring streak going.

I've heard Mario is going to Notre Dame. That is tDon's alma matter as well.
I've also heard Mario to Notre Dame too, but I think in the end he will end up at Minny. Apple Valley sophomore Hudson Fasching has committed to play at the USNTDP next year which somewhat suprised me as I figured he would stay at home after hearing his story.

Really thought the Sioux outplayed CC, generated a lot of good chances and the Sioux looked to have a lot of jump tonight. The refs should be embarrased over some of the calls tonight too, Nelson really got hosed on that major call and I use to like Guentzel as a player, but not after that dive. Now to take down the old dasher dancer

According to Chris Dilks, Aaron Johnson has HEAVY connections with UMD to begin with.
If we did recruit him at all, I doubt it was serious. Reading in between the lines with this guy, he was UMD bound from the get go.
Dave Johnson was his dad and he played at Duluth so not a big suprise. The kid kind of broke out at the state tournament and sounds like he was just waiting for an offer and he commited very soon after getting it.

Adam Johnson sophmore forward of Hibbing who looked very good at Minnesota State Hockey Tournament last week has committed to Duluth, not sure if Sioux were intersted or not.

Friday- Malone

Frattin

Forward Adam Johnson from Hibbing may be one to keep an eye on, he is only a sophmore and looks to be a very dynamic player with great ability to finish.

When I watch the state tournament and in some of the class A games, I'm baffled some of these schools are classified as A. When i think of Alexandria, I think of big school. My cousins went to school there, while my high school enrollment was just over 500. So some of the schools like Alex and the like I'm like, "and they are an A school, because...?" But I suppose it's different for all sports. My high school didn't have hockey .... and still doesn't so I didn't follow it much in high school.
I hear ya, when I was in high school my school was the smallest high school playing hockey in the state with about an enrollment of 200 and we had a team like Bemidji put inot our section for 2 years.

is the zajac from eagan, mn realted to the zajacs that went to UND?
kids a stud.
117 points and hes a jr.
Zajac has looked very good for Eagan. He has good size, pretty physical, and looks to have some good hands. Bitzer has made some huge saves for Moorhead and is a very solid goaltender I would think both these guys will be getting a few looks from some colleges.

I know the Strib was raising a big stink about it a few years ago and St. Thomas' excuse was that they have like 500 students so they shouldn't be. Problem is that it's 500 BOYS which is more than many single A schools have for students (boys and girls). I do see that they are listed as having over 1000 students but I think that is because MSHSL doubles it. Still surprised they don't move after being at state every year. Them and Breck should at least be forced into same section. Breck may be small but tough for public school to recruit against them.
I may be wrong on this, but the problem with Minnesota is that the AA is limited to 64 teams. So some larger schools end up playing single A because some smaller like Roseau play up. I see Alexandria is in single A now and they are over 1000 kids 9-12. Bemidji was playing single A couple years ago. They were twice the size of any school they were going against in section 8!
In Minnesota the top 64 enrollments are considered AA in hockey, but teams can pettition to opt up like Roseau does so actually there could be more than 64 teams in AA it just depends whether teams opt up every 2 years or not. I'm not sure but I thought Bemidji decided to opt up for the last 2 seasons and actually could of still qualified to play in class A.

He is indeed having hip surgery. Date for the surgery has already been scheduled. He's been playing hurt all season as he got injured during Elite League. From what I'm hearing... and speculating...is that most schools are hesitant to offer him a scholarship because of the injury. Can't blame them. It's difficult to commit to a player without knowing how he'll respond to the surgery. I believe he's drafted by Green Bay of the USHL, so I'd expect him to be there next year. I'd love tohave him in Sioux green.
That's kind of the same stuff I had been hearing too and I agree with you I'd love to get him up to UND.
-
Anyone heard anything on D- Dan Molenar from Eden Prairie lately. I know the Sioux were interested at one time, but haven't heard much since. There is a rumor out there he will need to have hip surgery after the season, but he is playing pretty well especially if he's playing hurt.

Really how did he get outcoached last night? Maybe that Michigan's prayers were answered and they got a lucky bounce and a goalie playing the game of his life? Michigan was totally outplayed if that was their coaches gameplan than I guess it worked perfectly. Haha you have no idea TROLL!
