  1. Seriously? Are you crazy? SDSU wins they get a top 8 seed. They lose they go to Montana. Can you really be that dumb? And early you said we lost to avoid UND? Are you 12? SDSU sat in an airport from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday. Arrived in Peoria close to 11 p.m. and on Saturday morning got on a bus at 8 a.m. only to sit behind an accident and not arrive in Wacomb till 1 p.m. SDSU wanted to delay the start to 4 p.m., WIU fought it and got their way; the game started at 2:45 pm. SDSU looked flat the entire game. We could not sustain any energy. It had nothing to do with UND or WIU. The winter storm absolutely slaughtered us and WIU refusing to hold off the start to a reasonable 4 pm. hurt, bad. SDSU will beat UM, in Missoula. We don't really have a big problem curb stomping BSC schools (see SUU, MSU, UNA). Yes, we allowed UM to come back in our FIRST playoff game against UM in 2009. That was 2009, our first time in they playoffs against a very talented UM team. We are a very different program, so are they. Yes, WIU beating us was bigger than UND beating PSU. Remember, PSU also lost to that powerhouse UNC. That said, UND should have been in prior to WIU or EIU. I don't really understand the WIU thing. They seemed to have foreknowledge that they were in. EIU got in because the chair of the committee is from Tennessee Tech, an OVC school. It is the same reason the MVFC were put into the same bracket. FCS is becoming D2. I mentioned it on AGS and I'll say it here, this is the beginning of the end of the Dakota schools being in FCS. It is the NCC and D2 all over again.
  2. Pretty sure Montana thought the same thing when CCU went to Missoula on an incredibly cold bad weather day, and handed to the Griz
  3. A 7-4 UNI team are in. They are now 5-4 with Missouri State and SIU left on the schedule. Montana State? No, but UNI; yes.
  4. South Dakota 52- Drake 0 1:37 left in the 4th. I guess they left their "fundamentals" at home. Oh, USD will likely finish bottom 3 in the MVFC.
  5. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbpUdMxD8Rw Just saying... they do it for all their games
  6. Well they did beat William and Jewell to start the year Stop trying to justify a close game with Drake. The halftime score is a better indication of where the two schools are. Teams lose focus in the 2nd half of games against lesser opponents, coaches relax and take the foot off the gas, it happens. Drake is NOT the best team, athletically or fundamentally you will play all year. If they are I would recommend looking for a new conference because the Big Sky sucks. Your post is an embarrassment to all four FCS schools in the area, your school and your conference.
  7. You do know that this article is simply one persons opinion? But hey, it is "the talk". You are a strange dude with a very fertile imagination.
  8. There in lies the problem. Who besides Montana have had consistent success? Just like the Summit the Big Sky needs to have more teams step it up. If UND can consistently have success, and an Eastern, SUU or someone else has success, just less consistent suddenly the conference begins to be viewed differently. At that point a better seed, and an at large are attainable.
  9. No one knows who you are and your conference has done nothing in the tournament. In 2009 SDSU's Women were 32-3, ranked 14th in the country with an RPI in the low to mid 20s all year. We were given a 7 seed and sent to Waco to play TCU in round 1 and Baylor, at home in round 2. USD likely got a 15 by beating a top 50 RPI school who had a win over Penn State, UW Green Bay, Georgetown and CMU. We also played Stanford and had Notre Dame come to Brookings. SDSU had been to the tournament five years in a row till falling apart this year. Had we won the SL title again we likely would have been no better then a 12 seed. That's with an RPI in the low 40s. Get used to it. The Big Sky, just like the Summit is not considered a very good mid-major in Women's BB. If UND wants some respect, wants a better RPI and a better seed in the tournament you are going to have to earn it by scheduling better outside of the Big Sky. Brewster was in Brookings during the transition when AJ was taking on all comers. He will get it done if your adm will let him. Oh, so you know that "terrible" Summit League also got two into the WNIT. One of whom should get one of the higher seeds based on history and current RPI. Of course that is also the school who regularly draws 5,000 - 6,000 for the Women's games in Sioux Falls for the SL tournament. What was UND's attendance in GF? Get behind your schools programs and good things will happen. You can say that it will get better with success but SDSU had over 5,000 at a WNIT game before we were eligible for the NCAA tournament. Personally I think UND can do MUCH better for their Women's program. One which I think could end up challenging SDSU for regional superiority if Brewster stays on.
  10. Link, or at least provide a source. And don't say FOIC in Idaho.
  11. It is so much fun reading Rob's crap on this board and elsewhere. Has he ever been right about anything as it relates to realignment? But hey, us Jacks fans are the "most" clueless in the NCAA about realignment. Funny, I guess that's the reason he posts under so many different monikers (SiouxVolley, Star2City, SiouxFan) on so many different sites. He is always easy to spot. He's the one pretending to have knowledge who is always wrong.
  12. Because so many NDSU fans are begging UND to join. The idea that anyone is "begging" UND to join the Summit is almost as funny as Rob, er: I mean siouxvolley's "expert" analysis.
  13. What "cemented" USD as a member of the Summit (in which they had already accepted membership before Fullerton attempted to poach them) was the invite to the MVFC. USD did not want to be part of the Big Sky. They can't afford the travel. Their wish was always an invite into the MVFC where expenses would be less, and where they could resume their rivalry with SDSU. Which is still the only game USD even comes close to selling out in any sport. As for the tourney in Sioux Falls. It is sold out and will continue to be sold out for most sessions in years to come. That's a good thing. Most mid-major conferences would die for the kind of attendance the Summit tourney generates. If the Big Sky goes to a neutral site look for it to be in Utah or close enough to Montana so the UM fans can drive. UM and Weber are the only two schools who have a following large enough to fill a neutral venue that holds more then a few thousand fans.
  14. What year did the two schools become eligible for the tournament? Really Darrell, everyone realizes you hate the two State schools based on the success both have had since moving up. But your beginning sound like Star2City. Just making statements for the sake of making statements. The reason for one appearance each is that it isn't easy making it to the NCAA tournament from a solid BB conference. Oakland and ORU were both top 50 programs when they took the spot. The Summit may only be a one bid conference right now, but getting that one bid is far from easy. Unlike the Big Sky, which is again looking like a play in game between Weber and Montana; there are usually 3 - 5 teams capable of making a run in the Summit tournament. With Denver coming in next year (another top 100 school) it is going to get even harder.
  15. What's the RPI of the Big Sky? How about the Summit? How about UND v Omaha? Outside of Montana and Weber the Big Sky is pretty much a bb joke.
  16. WISC 73 Montana 49 ORU were struggeling down the stretch, and DO MO had a habit of disappearing from games late in the year. There was also great disappointment in Tulsa when ORU did not make the NCAA tournament and it is likely Scott Sutton has already told his players he may not be back. Oh, Nevada is a solid ball club. As for strength, see above score. Also see 5 Summit teams in postseason. Two from the Big Sky. Next year expect that the Summit will have 3 - 4 (SDSU, NDSU, Oakland, WIU) in the top 100 in RPI. SDSU will likely be in the top 50 again with NDSU not far behind. The Summit will also drop another bottom feeder in SUU (going to Big Sky). The Big Sky will have Montana in the top 100, and maybe Weber. After those two..., not much to talk about.
  17. Yet it will still be higher then the Big Sky.
  18. Did you really see the tweet by TV? I did, it said nothing about confusion and said nothing about his being miffed about SDSU. Instead it simply pointed out that as of now SDSU is considered the worst team of the 4 making for a bad day in Brookings.
  19. I actually would like to see SDSU play UND since the schools had a nice past in women's bb however I don't see SDSU in Grand Forks for a while due to the fact that SDSU doesn't need the game and there is no need for SDSU to travel to Grand Forks when they can get some of the bigger name schools to come to Brookings. Last year Arizona State and Iowa both made the trip, this year Utah State, Washington State, Kansas State and Arkansas Little Rock are all playing in Frost while we travel to Marquette, Nebraska, Ark Little Rock and Middle Tennessee. If UND begins to do well in the Big Sky I have a feeling AJ will look at a one for one but until that time there really isn't any need to schedule UND and if it happens my guess is he'll push for a 2 for 1 or one and done in Brookings. The SDSU women are in a very different place then the SDSU men when it comes to scheduling. They made a name for themselves early in the transition, took on all comers on the road and succeeded and have made the post season 4 years in a row (3 NCAA, 1 NIT).
  20. Touched a nerve? Seems like it. I'm not the one who was stating that ORU and UMKC were "rumored" to be offered by the Sun Belt. You took a statement by a fan on a message board and posted it as something it was not. The reality, there is no rumor. As for UALR in the Summit. Could be could not be. Their AD started the discussion last year when he was quoted in an article (not a rumor on a message board) that UALR would be interested in Summit membership. I'll now remove myself from your world, a very strange one indeed. Feel free to continue pontificating oh one of such great knowledge.
  21. I get such a kick out of you. I went to the board and one poster mentions ORU in addition to Murray State or GSU as possible invitees into the SBC. The only mention of UMKC was when a poster talked about a time when the Summit could have been a southern based conference and that UMKC and UALR are similar. Do you really believe the crap you write? No where does anyone "seem to believe" that ORU or UMKC may be invited to the Sunbelt. How funny.
  22. I can think of a number of schools who have no problem going anywhere and playing anyone if they can get a home and home contract. NDSU decided to go the Montana route when setting up non-conference schedules. That was the choice they made. Even if, and it is a big if YSU leave the MVFC I do not think UND will be listed as a top priority when adding a school. I may be wrong but I think the member schools outside of NDSU and SDSU will want to look closer to home. I do think UND will be in the Summit for BB, etc. once the nickname issue is resolved. Football is going to be more difficult unless there is a major shakeup in the MVFC or Big Sky with multiple schools dropping FB or moving up.
  23. I normally don't like posting on other schools boards, but you do realize that NDSU can't "get" UND into the MVFC by themselves? There are 8 other schools who have a vote and I can guarantee you a number of them are not going to want a second school that far north admitted. As for the Bison getting some good FCS schools into the dome, it can be done. Just give up the cupcakes and schedule some of your old Great West mates. Cal Poly and Davis are always looking for games. Even SUU would be a huge upgrade from Wagner.
