Recruiting coordinator will be a big add to the staff that previously wasn't a full time position. Being able to bring ideas on how to do things from a top program in country should pay some dividends.

Ooof. SDSU could be in a bad spot depending on who on staff and the roster goes with Rogers. Having Washington State recruit the MVFC footprint won't help things either. Does Stig come back for a year to try to salvage what he built and Rogers guts in two short years? While it is obviously real nice while it lasts, things can be undone in a real hurry in the current environment. Things can change fast (in a good or bad way).

No argument. Darnold had outplayed his contact. Bad situation with dead cap money this year. But being able to build a team around a rookie (or very cheap) QB contract is a huge advantage. Problem is other guys will need to get paid as well. Something has to give somewhere.

Possible fallout from Jayden Denegal from UMichigan transferring in with 2 years of eligibility left? Not sure what their depth chart looks like with all the movement going on. Like seeing upgrades in competition at key spots! One more WR and a few on the D-side to keep it going!

Happily wrong on this one if it is accurate and he's the guy. Heard a few other names floated, but like I said, new HC has a good idea on how he would be for a fit.

Probably depends on how they feel about KOC's next reclamation project (Daniel Jones) and how McCarthy's rehab is coming along. It would be a tough call to let him walk but that money could go a really long way in shoring up some other holes in the roster.

While that's partially true, NDSU's enrollment has been dropping for a decade and UND's has been climbing.

So it is greater than what it was. And they continue to push it higher. Do you know where UND ranked in assistant pool under Bubba? Third. Do you know what it is now? Second. And my point was the pool is the same regardless of what happens. If there isn't a designated DC, then there is more money available to spread among the other position coaches and possibly the ability to attract better candidates than what there would be if there was a designated DC.

Assistant salary pool is what it is regardless of who has what titles.

What if the salary pool was the same regardless for the same number of coaches, but they were about to spread it out a bit more to get better position coaches....?

Interesting idea... Would explain why the postings are what they are.

It is still used by some of the top teams in the FBS and more than a handful of NFL teams. What base defense you run doesn't really matter if you don't have the players to run it and/or they aren't fundamentally sound. UND hasn't been able to consistently get the athletes they need to run it.
