Does it look like he has any rust from sitting out a year or did he look back to his old self game 1 against App? I think he will make a difference, but I think both teams have changed a little since last year. Gonna call it now and say Golladay has a break-out game. The kid is big, fast and can jump out of the building. He will win pretty much any one on one battle and with the attention I think Hardin will get, he should have that chance. I also see a pretty good game from Jackson again because of the attention Hardin will likely get. Will also be interesting to see how UND can get Jackson the ball, saw a new dimension last week with the Wildcat. The guy is a TE in a playing WR, going to get a fair amount of YAC due to his size and how hard he is to take down in the open field. Hopefully some 2nd half adjustments on the defensive side carry over and we see some improvement. Don't see the Griz trying to turn the game into a track meet again like last year, lesson likely learned on their part. They will try to shorten the game with long drives and after watching SDSU, I don't blame them. And let's see some change of pace in the backfield!

Not sure I'm buying that excuse. Was about as even as it gets. From last year's game: Time of Possession UM: 30:03 UND: 29.57 2nd Half TOP UM: 16:01 UND: 13:59 Total Offesnsive Plays UM: 86 UND: 85

Really going all out to become part of FU's squad aren't you?
-
Saying someone who played average at best is average isn't smack talk. And average with the running game they had going is kind of a disappointment especially after how much you talked him up before the game. Not sure why you think compliments to Zenner seem to be a slam on Sumner, but I sure would have rather had SDSU put the game on Sumner's arm than Zenner's legs.

NDSU football players clean up resumes, apply for openings in record numbers...

You must not know much about MSU or McGhee then. And you predicted a 4 score loss this past weekend. This changes the dynamics of the game significantly.

I'm thinking/hoping there were some growing pains with some of the young guys and learning the playbook. Starting to look like they may have to let them loose and hope they know enough. Seems like there is too much talent on the sidelines and not getting enough playing time.

Not sure what to think of the Griz. The win against App St lost some of its shine this weekend with App falling to NCA&T in Boone. Having Johnson back will definitely improve their offense. My guess is another shootout. I see a big day for Golladay because Hardin is going to be getting a lot attention after last year's performance.

UND gets up quick on the bunnies and holds on at the end. Homer pick, but 30-27 UND.

Hopefully UND's d-backs are used to going against a taller WR or two from practice. I think Sumner is a good QB but that comment “that not many quarterbacks are comparable to Sumner in the FCS….and or FBS” seems like a little bit of a stretch and having Zenner for the D to focus on definitely can't hurt either. Sounds like they throw a lot of over the middle and slants, which work well when the LB have to freeze to key on the RB.

Along with that, the only people that call SDSU "state" are SDSU fans. Personally, I think our new guest is overrating Sumner and underrating what Zenner is able to open up for him. I also find it interesting that their leader in receptions was listed as a RB last year (graduated) and their WR with the most receptions also graduated. Along with a few other graduations, it looks like they lost about 50% of their production from last year (receptions and yards). Not sure what their WR corps looks like this year, any SDSU fans want to give us a little preview?

Love the two-tone as well. Is that 2nd story just a 2-lane warm-up track? Was hoping there would be seating in the 2nd level, better view of the whole place when events are going on.

Tim Brewster sounded and looked pretty bold and confident in front of a microphone as well. A lot more to coaching than how you sound in a couple of sound bites.

Just becasue someone doesn't agree with the 5 page manifesto you wrote doesn't mean they are following the "ducky and bunny" field manual, whatever that is. As pointed out earlier, there are numerous contradictions and non-sensical points. Tough to agree with some of the arguments your are making when they just don't pass the sniff test. You do have some very valid points, but I think you are trying to hard to come up some convoluted reasoning for whatever it is you want your point to be.

Reading and comprehending not your strong point? Community Topics of interest at UND, in Grand Forks, and in North Dakota. No politics, please.

While you're at it, get off my lawn!!

There's "supposed" to be no fighting in football either. A quick google search proves otherwise.

Not sure where he gets that extra gear from when the ball is in the air. Thought he was overthrown by 5 yards in the 2nd quarter, no clue how he got under that.
-
Per the GF Herald: Not real excited about it, but it does give the Jacks a little something more to prepare for. I'd like to see Bartels start, get in a rhythm and play the majority of the game. Wouldn't mind seeing a read-option type package for Molberg for a series at the beginning of the 2nd quarter. What I hope doesn't happen is a rotation. Didn't work last year, don't see it working this year.
-
Tough to get a read on the team from the game. I thought Bartels looked more comfortable in the pocket and made better reads/passes than Molberg, but not sure how much more Joe played with the 2nd team. I guess I shouldn't expect Valpo to not gain any yards, but it seemed like they got a better push than one would like to see quite a few times. Can't allow that against SDSU or Zenner will have a big day. Sumner is also going to be a much better QB and not bail the defense out with poor throws. Next weeks game be interesting. The offense looks like it can score along with some special teams magic (Hardin and Golladay as returners is a nightmare for opponents) but I'm still not sold on the defense.
-
If he can get to the 2nd level this year, he will have quite a few. Couldn't get there last year. He should have plenty of open space to run through tonight.
-
Or he was injured and isn't going to start anymore, in which case, he is off the team.

And basketball/volleyball. Watched quite a few of the MBB on BigSkyTV last winter and plan to do the same again this coming season.

Yet here you are on a UND board...
-
Point 1 - Their record indicates different. They committed offenses that are crimes except on BV and in your mind apparently. Point 2 - Maybe it is your FU math, but 2010 was only 3 years ago, not 8.
