E-mail just came out with some details for the Spring Game: Definitely scaled back this year but should still be a good time regardless.
-
EWU had a line that was able to block and one of the best QB's in the FCS. Don't mistake production and talent. Talent-wise, they were very comparable.

Not 100% positive, but my educated guess is that the REA has a reserve fund they build up for maintenance/improvements that they tap for projects like this among others. In that sense, it is "private" money as no funds from the state are being used. The building is still held in a non-profit entity which donates a chunk of money back to UND every year. -
That's odd given that you asked the questions about what I'd do in the scenarios you laid out.
-
No but I'd still think you were kind of an idiot for going to their message boards and trying to play off an insult as something less.
-
And if OSU/Wisconsin game had been earlier in the day, it would have been UND's throttling of Western Michigan that got them in. Semantics.
-
Considering you spend a decent amount of time belittling both Grand Forks and the GF Air Force base both here and on the FU message board, I don't think most people are willing to allow you that luxury.

He appeared to be more than competent as an OC though.

Why no details on these?

I also agree its not real fair for coaches to take off, particularly in the instances where there are sanctions coming down, but its hard to blame them for taking a different job when life changing money is offered, no different than any other profession. Not sure what the answer is, but its always why players should commit to a program/school and not a coach. It does look like they are addressing something along those lines next week though I haven't seen much detail on outside of this quote:

One that that is pretty important is that Keen has always been the interim coach. There has never been any guarantee that he would continue to be the head coach in the future at any point. As for the administration, once the price tag on this disaster comes out, I'd imagine there will be some changes. In the "real world" unless there a penalty/clause put in a contract that prevents an employee from leaving, then no, there shouldn't be consequences for breaking it. If the Dolphins didn't put a buyout clause in Saban's contract, that is their own fault. Many companies in competitive industries require employees to sign non-compete agreements or put large buyouts in the contracts to prevent that from happening. They were free to try to sue Saban if they wanted but on what grounds? And I guess the Dolphins owner feels differently than you: And you are comparing Saban to the MSU administration while darell is comparing Saban to Hoffner. Huh?

I guess I missed the part where Alabama illegally fired Saban after almost ruining his life and career and he ended up going back to Tuscaloosa to be with his family after Alabama was required by an arbitrator to give him his job back. If your justification for comparing them is that they both said they weren't leaving and did, that is pretty weak. The background behind the situations has zero similarities. People say they aren't leaving jobs all the time and then end up going. Offers are increased, incentives are made more appealing. Saban was obvious serious originally about not going since after he turned them down the first time, Alabama offered Rich Rodriguez, who declined. Apparently Alabama decided they really wanted him and made a pretty compelling argument, Saban didn't take the job until January 4th, two weeks after he said he last said he wasn't going to Alabama. Welcome to the real world.

Not even comparable by any stretch of the imagination.

List of players intending on transferring over the summer. http://espn.go.com/m...lege-basketball

Didn't even catch that, but I agree. I'll move it over there.

Not technically recruiting, but probably relevant since Tom Miller did indicate that UND was looking at a transfer. List of players intending on transferring over the summer: http://espn.go.com/m...lege-basketball

Guess the good ol boys weren't in the know on this one.

They isn't a daily report on practices was my point, internally or externally. Isn't the media still banned from the majority of practice down there?
-
They are doing quite a bit more than gobison.com which has one article that spring practice is starting and another about their first scrimmage.

So you think Jones should be fired after this past season? If so, I would think you don't understand what or how Faison thinks. That's a terrible analogy. And now you want Jones fired? Just yesterday you said he should have until the end of his contract.
-
You said you aren't looking forward to a .500 record. I pointed out with what they were losing, I think something around that is a likely scenario. Where is the excuse part in that? Just want to point out UND is 10-10 on the road the last two years in Big Sky play. That's the third most wins in that time frame behind Montana and Weber. Again to my point, something will give between conference and OOC play. Too big of a disconnect. Also want to point out that I'm in no way endorsing that Jones is the answer. I also don't have my torches and pitchforks lined up ready to go.

I'm honestly curious because I don't know, who currently on the roster and coming in is Ahelegbe responsible for? He's only been here three years, so none of the graduating class and none of the upcoming seniors. Hooker and Crandall are the two that I would assume. Not sure on how exactly the basketball recruiting is divided up.
-
What excuses am I using? That I think there is blame that can be placed on the players and not just the coach? That the team had an abnormally large amount of injuries to key players the last 3 years? That's fine if you only want to use regular season OOC games (which I stated the results were not acceptable). But previous arguments were always that they could only win at home. I'm pointing out which games are more important, and its not the ones you are focusing on. I don't know what the team was thinking or feeling at the SUU game or any of the other games. Where is your insight coming from on whether they were "pumped up" or not? How many of the games you mentioned did you actually watch to see how pumped up they were? And fourth/fifth year seniors shouldn't need to be pumped up. Glad you have already decided this team will be getting blown out at home before the roster for next season is even set. Guess it will save you from venturing into any of the other threads besides this one.
-
Heh. A whole 5 minutes.

I think the next year or two will fall one of two ways: 1)Better OOC record and similar conference results or 2)Similar OOC record with a regression in conference results. The disconnect between the two is too strange to continue and which way it falls will likely give an answer on what needs to happen. Granted, I think there will be an overall regression from this year (conference title game) but because of some dumb games lost this year, I think the overall record should be almost similar and the team can still have some pretty decent results. Going to take a lot of "want" from the returning guys though.
